Chapter 112: Chapter 112: Self-Sustaining
If everything turns out great, she can get an antidote for the zombie virus and put the apocalypse to an end, the system will leave her.
At that time humanity will have to fend for themselves.
The reality is, that even if they get over the apocalypse, they would lose.
The aquatic animals have gone extinct. Other animals have gone extinct too. Lives have been completely disrupted, and ecosystems are in shambles.
Humanity, even after surviving the apocalypse, would face an irreversible loss of biodiversity.
The oceans, which once teemed with life, were now barren, and the land wasn’t much better.
Without these natural resources, the world would struggle to recover its former balance.
Su Jiyai sighed, realizing that even if the apocalypse ended, it wouldn’t mean everything would go back to how it once was.
[Host you are thinking too much. For now, you have me.]
“Exactly. I want to use the time I have with you properly. With your existence and my superpower, I want to recover everything in such a manner that even if you leave, the human world will be able to sustain itself,” Su Jiyai finished her thought out loud, her voice resolute.
For the past 2 months, she seemed to have living her life in a haze.
It was a strange feeling…
For some reason, she could only think clearly now…
[Host if you are planning to build everything from scratch it will be a very difficult task.]
The system could perceive what Su Jiyai was planning.
She was thinking of building a completely self-sustaining society, one that could thrive even in a post-apocalyptic world without her or the system’s intervention.
“Of course, it’ll be difficult,” Su Jiyai muttered, her fingers absently tracing patterns on the countertop.
“But nothing worth doing is easy. I’ve seen what happens when people become too reliant on external help—whether it’s from the system, me, or anyone else.
If humanity is going to survive, they need to learn how to stand on their own two feet again.”
The system hummed softly in response, considering her words.
[Host, rebuilding society requires more than just supplies. You’ll need knowledge, infrastructure, cooperation from others, and… well, time. Just take aquatic beings for example. They can’t grow in the water of this world anymore. Even if you are successful in bringing living aquatic beings from the other world, how would help them in sustaining?]
“Good question. Well, I can’t for now. But can’t you multiply water bottles of other worlds?”
[Then what about fresh vegetables, host?]
Su Jiyai didn’t know if it was an illusion but the system sounded a bit…excited.
Yet she gave her answer,
“Your existence is the answer.”
[You think after one of the upgrades I will be able to multiply fresh vegetables? Host that’s impossible-]
“No.” Su Jiyai shook her head.
“I mean, you can multiply nonliving things, right? Such a thing is…very overpowering. If you can exist, then there must be some other system or superpower using which the fresh vegetables could be grown.”

[Host My existence isn’t great. You might not know it but there many things like me in other dimensions. There is a pot in some other dimension that could multiply things. It uses jade for doing so.]
(Author: That is the theme of my 5th novel XD)
Su Jiyai wasn’t surprised,
“I know. But I still think if you can exist, then someone who could grow fresh vegetables must exist.”
The system remained silent and Su Jiyai didn’t continue.
She was wondering how to complete her other missions.
Starting a factory and exploring Crystal Cove.
Looking at the packed space, Su Jiyai sighed.
Hopefully, tomorrow’s meeting will go as planned.
After making some adjustments and installing some more vending machines, Su Jiyai checked whether the cafeteria was unlocked or not.
She will have to invest a lot of money if she wants to make humanity self-sufficient.
Though she has more than 230 million points now, it wasn’t enough.
If she wanted to increase her income she would have to include more industry.
A plan had already been built in her mind.
The first step of the plan was to expand the area and generate more income sources.
Her weapons shops were giving her an average income of 5 million points a day.
The supermarket’s average income was 3 million points a day.
As for rooms, the average income was as low as 200,000 points a day. However, it was the prime reason why her weapon shop and supermarket were earning so much profit.
Once she starts strengthening the honey shops, the income will increase even more.
For now, installing a cafeteria is a good way to increase the income.
Luckily the cafeteria was unlocked. Su Jiyai made some adjustments and built a cafeteria.
Felling sleepy Su Jiyai decided to return.
The next morning.
After doing her morning routine, Su Jiyai turned on the microphone and announced,
“All tenants, please sit back in your room, I have something to announce.”
The tenants obediently walked back to their room.
The family members of the Zhong family scrunched their faces. They wanted to hurriedly run to the supermarket and buy as many baby items as they could.
The more they buy, the more they will sell and earn profit!
However, the landlord’s authority couldn’t be challenged and they could only obediently return to their room.
The television in the room suddenly turned on and the supermarket’s scene was broadcast.
It replayed the scene where they hoarded the baby items one by one and how smartly they would repeat such again and again.
Su Jiyai’s voice came through the speakers, calm but with an undeniable edge of authority.
“As you can see,” she began, “there are clear patterns of abuse within my system. The rules were set for a reason—to ensure fairness and equal access to supplies in these difficult times. Yet some of you have decided to exploit a loophole.”
The screen zoomed in on the Zhong family’s repeated purchases, showcasing their actions clearly for everyone to see.
