Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Polluted Acidic Water
Wang Qingshan’s breath hitched as he stared at the mountain of supplies that now filled his office.
The sheer volume of high-quality, pre-apocalypse goods was staggering.
He took a moment to steady himself, blinking as if to confirm that this was real and not some hallucination.
In a world where food and basic necessities were rare commodities, seeing such abundance felt almost unreal.
“How… how much did this cost?” Wang Qingshan asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Liu Feng glanced at Wang Yi before turning his gaze back to Wang Qingshan.
“In total, we spent just 2 million federal coins.”
Wang Qingshan sucked in a deep breath.
“Sorry sir, I can’t take out the entire thing due to lack of space.” Wang Yi’s voice interrupted Wang Qingshan’s thought process.
“What?” Wang Qingshan felt as if his ears were ringing.
Since Wang Yi was covered by a wall of supplies, Wang Qingshan couldn’t see the smile on Wang Yi’s face.
“Sir, only 1/3rd of the supplies have been put in front of you.” He repeated.
Wang Qingshan’s eyes widened even further. Only a third?
Does that mean they bought supplies worth 3 times the office size for just 2 million federal coins?
How?
How can this be possible?
“This is…” He struggled for words. “This changes everything. With these supplies, we won’t need to worry about food for the next 1 month.”
Liu Feng shook his head, but he soon recalled how foolish his action was since Wang Qingshan couldn’t see him at all.
“Chairman, we found some more things. Boss Su’s place has electricity 24/7, and the living conditions are much better than ours, even the security is much better than ours.
Boss Su’s base is protected by the electric fence, if the military base could be shifted under her administration the life style of the survivors in the military base would improve drastically.”
Wang Qingshan frowned,
“No. The military can’t merge with some other base.”
The military wasn’t just a base for survivors, it was a law in the apocalypse.
This was the reason even though the military was facing issues regarding food, they never merged with any base.
Once the military merges with any base, other base leaders would oppose the military and call them biased.
They might even start a war.
The balance and the laws were maintained due to the existence of the military. This was the reason why no base leader did anything excessive.
If by chance the military side with any of the bases, or merges with any base, that base would gain a huge amount of power.
This would create an imbalance and if Boss Su is evil, then she might end up misusing power.

One more thing that made Wang Qingshan worried was Su Jiyai’s intentions.
If Boss Su had truly invited them to live with her, her intentions might not have been as pure as they looked.
On a closer thought, which idiot would rent land, build towers, and share profits?
(Author: Our Su Jiyai.)
Wnag Qingshan even started to think of investigating Boss Su.
“Chairman, I am not talking about merging, Boss Su has asked us to live near her base to monitor her activity.” Liu Feng explained.
Wang Qingshan frowned,
“Let me think about it.”
Liu Feng stood up, saluted, and turned to leave. Suddenly he paused and said,
“Chairman, I would like to add one more point. If Boss Su truly wanted power, she would just need to wait for 4 more months.
She can hold on for 4 more months, but…we can’t. We are the ones who are desperate.”
Wang Qingshan’s heart trembled, he lowered his head and remained silent.
…………………………..
In Black Ray base.
“Alright,” Su Jiyai said slowly. “But just my eyes.”
With a deep breath, she lifted the veil enough to reveal only her violet eyes.
They shimmered in the dim light of the room, however, Qin Feng’s bright eyes, slowly lost hope.
He thought…
He thought Boss Su was Su Jiyai…
However, the purple eyes were a smack on his face.
How foolish he was. His Su Jiyai has transformed into a cat…how can Boss Su be…Su Jiyai?
Qin Feng finally tore his gaze away from her, his hands clenched into fists as he looked out the small window.
“Fine. I’ll tell you.”
He didn’t look at her as he began to speak, his voice cold and detached, as if he were narrating someone else’s story.
“I burnt myself… intentionally. There’s no other cause behind it.”
“You are lying.” Su Jiyai’s eyes dimmed. She put the veil back on.
She could tell right away whether Qin Feng was telling the truth or not.
Qin Feng chuckled, his chuckle was laced with bitterness,
“Why do you care?”
“Because the cat wants to treat your burnt skin. And as I said before, I can’t treat it without knowing the cause.”
Qin Feng gritted his teeth for a few seconds before closing his eyes,
“I jumped in the polluted acidic water.”
“Why?” Su Jiyai asked. Her heart was beating loudly. For a moment she wanted to take back her words…
Her instincts were telling her, that she wasn’t ready to hear the truth.
“Someone informed me that they had last seen her near the polluted acidic water and maybe her body was inside the river….”
“So Jumped in the river?” Su Jiyai asked. Her eyes moistened. A lump formed in her throat.
Idiot!
Stupid! Why did you not care for yourself?
“Yes.”
“Who…who was that girl?” Su Jiyai continued to ask.
She knew the answer.
“My lover.” A hint of gentleness appeared in his tone. A smile formed on his lips.
“Did you find her body?” Su Jiyai asked.
She wanted to scold Qin Feng and tell him, that his impulsiveness had cost him losing his skin.
That he shouldn’t be reckless going further. But Qin Feng’s answer surprised her.
“I did.” Qin Feng smiled. “Everything was worth it. I found her body and I have found her reincarnated form too.”
