Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Dong Shin’s Plan
Boss Su might have outmaneuvered him with her clever promises and sun-proof cloaks, but land—that was a different battlefield.
Land was power, and without it, her base couldn’t expand. Chen Mu knew that if he could block her access to strategic territory, it would cripple her growth.
Even if his base was dying, he could still buy himself time to figure out his next move.
“Alright,” Dong Shin replied after a long pause.
“I’ll see what I can do. But remember, if you don’t deliver on your promise, I won’t be able to hold them off for long. And if you cross me, well… let’s just say it won’t be good for you.”
Chen Mu grunted in acknowledgment.
Dong Shin was one of the more ruthless military generals he had dealt with, a man who had connections both within and outside the law.
But Chen Mu knew he could trust him—at least as far as their business went.
“I’ll have everything ready by tomorrow,” Chen Mu said, his tone hardening.
“Just make sure you keep her in check. I don’t care how you do it.”
After hanging up, Chen Mu slumped back into his chair, thinking of his next move.
What he didn’t know was Dong Shin wasn’t as loyal as he had thought of him to be.
After hanging up Dong Shin chuckles
Dong Shin chuckled to himself as he leaned back in his chair, a sly grin spreading across his face.
He tossed his phone onto the cluttered desk in front of him and stood, pacing the room.
Chen Mu really thought he could keep control of this situation, but Dong Shin had other plans.
He had always been a man who played both sides, keeping his hands clean while benefiting from the chaos.
“Chen Mu thinks he’s still in charge,” Dong Shin muttered to himself, the chuckle turning into a full laugh.
“He doesn’t realize how far he’s fallen.”
In truth, Dong Shin had already planted some spy in Boss Su’s base.
The moment he’d heard about her rise in power and the influx of citizens fleeing to her base, he knew where the real opportunity lay.
Boss Su wasn’t just smart—she was ruthless, resourceful, and knew how to wield power effectively.
Aligning with her was a much safer bet in the long run than staying loyal to Chen Mu, who was clearly on the verge of collapse.
“Go and tell the chairman I agree with Liu Feng’s decision to cooperate with Boss Su.” Dong Shin said to his subordinate.
The subordinates nod and leave the office to inform the Chairman.
Dong Shin sits on his chair and starts to think of the prosperous days that are yet to come.
He even started to think of various benefits he would receive from Boss Su.
“Once I get my hand on the Boss Su’s base, I will befriend her. From her way of dealing with others, I think she might be in her 30s if everything goes well, I can marry her and slowly seize the power.” Dong Shin laughed.
His mind was filled with schemes.

Dong Shin’s subordinate rushed back into the room, his expression grave.
“Boss! We have a problem,” he said, his voice laced with urgency.
“What is it now?” Dong Shin snapped, irritation flaring in his chest. He had just begun to savor the prospect of aligning himself with Boss Su, and now it seemed trouble was rearing its ugly head.
“The deal with Boss Su… it’s off. Her people took back the offer.”
Dong Shin’s brow furrowed in disbelief. “What do you mean it’s off? How could that happen?”
The subordinate took a deep breath, trying to gather his thoughts.
“They gave us a time limit to respond, but the military didn’t react in time. By the time we got back to them, they had already moved on.”
“Are you telling me that a golden opportunity slipped through our fingers because of a lack of urgency?” Dong Shin’s voice rose, anger boiling beneath the surface.
“That…that boss…Captain Liu Feng repeatedly warned the chairman of the deadline, but since you didn’t respond, the chairman stalled.
The chairman thought Boss Su was only threatening them with the deadline and would agree quickly as long as we answered. Who would have thought that this Boss Su was being serious…”
Dong Shin’s face turned crimson with rage.
His fists clenched tightly, knuckles white as he slammed them down on the desk, causing a few papers to scatter across the floor.
“That idiot!” he snarled. “How could the chairman be so blind? Does he not understand who we’re dealing with?”
The subordinate flinched at Dong Shin’s outburst, but there was little he could do except watch as his boss seethed.
In his heart, the subordinate was complaining,
‘You were the one who stalled! The chairman repeatedly asked for the answer and even said he would agree to the offer. But you threatened him and hence he remained silent!’
The more Dong Shin thought about it, the more he realized just how disastrous the delay had been.
Boss Su would not extend another olive branch. Not now.
He paced the room, his frustration boiling over as his schemes crumbled before him.
The dream of gaining control over her base, of cozying up to her power, of manipulating the situation to his advantage—all of it, was gone.
“Do we have any way to reach her? Any chance of reopening the negotiations?” Dong Shin asked, desperate to find a lifeline.
The subordinate shook his head. “No, Boss.”
“Then we move to Plan B,” Dong Shin said suddenly, his voice colder than before. “If she won’t cooperate willingly, we’ll force her hand.”
The subordinate’s eyes widened. “What do you mean, Boss?”
Dong Shin leaned forward, resting his hands on the desk as a sinister smile crept across his face.
“We’ll start small,” he said, leaning forward, his voice low but full of conviction.
“The spies will begin whispering among the tenants—especially those who have family waiting to join Boss Su’s base.
Spread rumors that she’s running out of land, that she can’t expand. Make them doubt her ability to deliver on her promises.”
