Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Growing Hunger
The main problem was, that even though she was much more powerful than before, she was still weak in front of the constant incoming attacks.
For now, she could only stall time.
For the next three hours, Su Jiyai continued to dodge the attack. Many times she was injured, however, each time her wounds healed.
At first, Su Jiyai was joyful but soon her joy turned into horror when she felt a growing sense of hunger.
This type of hunger though…wasn’t for food…it was for something else.
Su Jiyai became a bit worried and tried to open the portal, however to her dismay, 4 hours were still not over.
The more time passed, the more desperate Su Jiyai became.
She could feel her two front teeth slowly growing. Fangs.
Her fangs, sharp and unfamiliar, pressed painfully against her lips, a constant reminder of the terrifying transformation she was undergoing.
Each time she dodged an attack, her body moved with more agility than before, but the gnawing hunger inside her grew stronger with every passing second.
She bit down hard, trying to suppress the urge, but her newly grown fangs cut into her lip, and the taste of blood sent a shiver down her spine.
Her vision sharpened, the colors of the world becoming more vibrant, but with that clarity came a haunting realization—if she didn’t find a way out soon, she might lose control.
The voices that had once mocked her now hissed angrily.
Her breath came in ragged gasps, her body trembling as she fought against the primal urge rising within her. The constant healing took its toll, and her mind grew foggy.
She couldn’t stop thinking about it—the blood. The more she healed, the more she craved it.
A low growl escaped her throat, and she clenched her fists, trying to maintain control.
Just hold on, she told herself. One more hour!
Suddenly, one of the voices cackled. “What’s the matter, little human? Feeling weak?”
Su Jiyai didn’t respond. She couldn’t.
Her chest heaved as she fought for control, her nails digging into her palms until they bled.
But even that pain only made the hunger worse.
Another blow came, and though she dodged it, her movements were slowing.
Her thoughts became more erratic, more dangerous.
“Hey! Look! She is growing fangs! My god! She is not a vampire, is she?” One of the voices asked with excitement.
“Is she? Looks like the people at the administrative office are finally taking us seriously! They even found a vampire who has the power of dimension hunting! ” Another voice said gruffly.
“Alas! How I wish she was on our side. Then we would show what true chaos means.”
The air grew thick with tension as one of the voices suddenly spoke, breaking the chaotic rhythm of the battle.
“We can’t let her grow,” the voice hissed, a sharp edge of fear cutting through its usual mocking tone.
“If she truly is a vampire… we need to kill her now. She’s far more dangerous than we realized.”

Another voice growled in agreement.
“You’re right. Vampires… they’re not just stronger.
They’re predators.
The longer she stays alive, the more of a threat she becomes.”
“She might still be transitioning,” a third voice added cautiously, “but if we wait any longer, she’ll become something we can’t control.
She already has the power of dimension hunting, and now vampirism? That’s a lethal combination.”
Su Jiyai’s breath hitched as the realization dawned on her—this wasn’t just an ordinary battle anymore.
They had figured it out.
They knew what she was becoming, and now they wanted her dead before she could fully know what she was.
One of the voices spoke again, this time more deliberate, its tone dark and decisive.
“We’ll use their weakness against her. Vampires, even ones as newly awakened as her, are vulnerable to certain things.
If we strike fast and use what we know, she won’t stand a chance.”
“Garlic-infused weapons?” one voice suggested, almost excitedly.
Another voice chimed in, “Silver. And holy water. Let’s see if she can regenerate from that!”
The others cackled in agreement, their plans coming together as they prepared to finish her off once and for all.
Su Jiyai’s heart sank.
She didn’t know how much of what they said was true—she hadn’t even fully accepted the fact that she was turning into a vampire.
But the idea of her newfound powers being stripped away, of being torn apart by these creatures before she could figure out how to control herself… it terrified her.
She tried to steady her breathing, her mind cycling through her options.
She needed to stall for time. The portal was so close to activating, but these voices were relentless.
Their attacks were growing more coordinated, and with every second, they grew bolder.
The regeneration wasn’t endless, and if they found a way to exploit her weaknesses, she might not survive.
Another barrage of attacks came her way, this time sharper, more precise. She dodged them, barely.
Each time her body twisted out of the way, she could feel the growing frustration from her attackers.
They wanted her dead. Badly.
“Do it now!” one of the voices shouted.
Suddenly, Su Jiyai felt a rush of energy gathering in the air.
A cold sweat broke across her skin. She couldn’t afford to let them complete whatever ritual or spell they were attempting.
Suddenly she shouted,
“Wait! I want to strike a deal!”
Her words instantly caught the attention of the voices and the attack stopped. Su Jiyai secretly heaved a sigh of relief, but it was short-lived since the next second she heard one of the authoritative voices,
“What type of deal a mere human can crack? She is just wasting our time. Kill her.”
“No!” Su Jiyai stopped them. “I truly have an amazing deal! If you don’t feel it is worth your attention you can proceed with the ritual. But what if you found it useful? You will regret not listening to my proposal. Think about it.”
