Chapter 174: Chapter 174: Condition
One voice, low and cautious, broke the silence.
“She’s stalling. It’s a trick to buy time.”
“But what if she isn’t?” another countered, a hint of curiosity in its tone.
“What if she truly has something to offer? We’ve never dealt with a vampire who could manipulate dimensions before. Perhaps she knows things we don’t.”
“Bah!” scoffed the authoritative voice that had earlier called for her death.
“She’s just a newborn. Barely understands her own powers, let alone has anything of value to us.”
“Still…” a third voice chimed in, contemplative now.
“It would be foolish to strike her down without at least hearing what she has to say. If she’s lying, we can kill her anyway.”
A tense debate followed, with the voices arguing back and forth in hushed tones as if weighing the potential risks of killing her versus hearing her out.
Su Jiyai’s palms were clammy.
After what felt like an eternity, the voices reached a consensus.
“Very well,” the authoritative voice said begrudgingly.
“We’ll hear your so-called ‘deal,’ vampire. But know this—if your offer is worthless or a lie, you’ll die far more painfully than you can imagine.”
Su Jiyai knew she had mere moments to craft the perfect pitch. Her throat tightened, but she swallowed her fear.
She had stalled for time, and now she needed to sell her survival.
From the knowledge she had heard and known till now, Su Jiyai had already come up with a plan in her mind.
Drawing a deep breath, she began,
“I know what you want. Chaos, power, destruction—everything that drives you. But you’re missing one crucial element to achieving those things.”
The voices hummed, their interest piqued.
“Go on,” one of them urged.
“You need access to other dimensions,” Su Jiyai continued, her voice stronger now.
“Right now, you’re stuck here, bound to this place, limited by the constraints of this world. But I… I can take you anywhere.
With my power to open dimensional portals, I can transport you to other realms, places ripe for conquering and pillaging.
Imagine entire worlds where no one has even heard of you, where you could reign as gods.”
Su Jiyai was gambling.
She knew she could never defeat them, but from their attack, she understood one thing. They were powerful and they could kill her just with a snap of her finger.
The only advantage she had was their separate dimension.
That means the people, creatures, or whatever was on the 4th dimension, have some restrictions too.
There was a 90% chance that they wanted to break free from the 4th dimension to extend their influence but didn’t have the means.

She was betting on that 90%.
“You expect us to believe you would willingly assist us in spreading destruction across dimensions?” one voice asked, skepticism dripping from its tone.
“I don’t have a choice,” Su Jiyai replied, her voice tight but confident.
“I’m a vampire now, aren’t I? My own humanity is slipping away. Soon, my hunger will consume me, and when that happens, I’ll need to feed.
And what better way to sustain myself than by traversing dimensions and feasting on countless souls? It benefits both of us.”
There was a long pause as the voices considered her offer.
Finally, one of the voices, smooth and calculating, asked,
“And how do we know you won’t betray us once you’ve taken us to these new realms?”
Su Jiyai clenched her fists. She had anticipated this question, and her response was ready.
“Because you’ll have control over me. I may have powers, but I’m still in the midst of my transformation. I’m vulnerable.
You can keep me in check until I’ve fully transitioned, and by then, you’ll have what you want—an open door to limitless dimensions.
If I betray you, you have the power to end me before I even take root.”
The voices hummed again, considering her offer.
“It’s a gamble,” the authoritative voice said, the tone laced with suspicion.
“A calculated one,” another voice countered.
“She’s not wrong. If we let her live and she delivers, we’ll gain more than just another victory here. We’ll gain access to entire worlds.”
“Agreed,” said another voice.
“She’s of more use to us alive… for now.”
The decision was made as the offer was too tempting, they couldn’t decline.
“Fine. We’ll take your offer. But know this—you’ll be watched at every turn. If you try anything… you’ll wish for death long before it comes.” The authoritative voice finally addressed Su Jiyai.
Bait taken. Next step.
Su Jiyai thought and suddenly said,
“But I have a condition.”
Her words made the voices enraged and one by one they started to berate her
“You dare to demand something from us?” one voice roared, its tone thick with contempt.
“After everything we’ve offered you—after we’ve granted you a chance at survival—you set terms?” another voice sneered, disbelief clear in its words.
“Kill her!” shouted a third, harsher than the rest.
“She thinks she’s clever, trying to manipulate us. End her now before she grows any bolder!”
Su Jiyai’s heart raced, but she remained outwardly calm.
She knew she was treading on dangerous ground, but she had to push forward.
If they didn’t accept her condition, everything she had done so far would be for nothing.
“Foolish human! We don’t need you that badly,” a particularly menacing voice spat.
“We can always find another with dimensional power. Perhaps you’ve forgotten your place!”
Her time was running out.
But before they could act, Su Jiyai did something that shocked them all.
She grabbed a sharp knife—one of the discarded weapons lying nearby—and in a single, swift motion, held the blade against her own heart.
“One more step,” she threatened, her voice steady despite the storm inside her, “and I’ll drive this knife into my chest.”
The voices fell silent, the chaotic rage vanishing as they processed her sudden move.
“You think you can scare us with your own death?” one voice growled, but there was a note of uncertainty now.
“I think,” Su Jiyai said, her eyes dark and intense, “that you know you need me. I think you know that if I die here, none of us get what we want. I die, and your little plan for dimensional chaos dies with me.”
Silence.
