Chapter 205: Chapter 205: Breakthrough?
She didn’t understand why, but whatever this room represented, it terrified Jake.
Dr. Mei noticed it too and allowed herself a slight smile, one that sent a shiver down Su Jiyai’s spine.
“You know what comes next, Jake,” she said, her voice soft but edged with cruelty. “Lie down.”
Jake’s expression was one of pure struggle, his body rigid as if he were internally battling something.
His eyes flickered between the bed and the machines, and Su Jiyai, still nestled in his arms, could feel his reluctance through the tension in his muscles.
For a brief moment, she thought he might refuse outright.
But after several long seconds, Jake exhaled slowly and, with great effort, lowered Su Jiyai to the floor.
His hand lingered on her head for a moment, almost as if he were drawing strength from the feel of her fur before he turned away and moved toward the bed.
But before he left, he whispered in a voice only two of them could hear,
“Run away.”
Jake hesitated after reaching the bed but ultimately climbed onto the bed, lying down as instructed.
The green tubes snaked around him, the faint glow of the liquid casting an eerie light over his pale skin.
Fear flashed across Jake’s face as he stared up at the machines, the playful mask he had worn earlier completely gone.
Su Jiyai watched, her heart pounding. Whatever was about to happen, she could sense it wasn’t good.
Dr. Mei and Dr. Pan positioned themselves on either side of the bed, both staring down at Jake with cold, clinical detachment.
“You’ve been difficult, Jake,” Dr. Mei said quietly, her fingers dancing across the controls of one of the machines.
“You think you can ignore our orders, run around like you’re not bound to us. But that ends now.”
Dr. Pan smirked, his voice dripping with malice. “It’s time you remembered who’s in charge.”
Su Jiyai’s fur bristled as she watched the tubes shift, aligning themselves with Jake’s body.
The green liquid began to pulse inside the machines, and Jake’s eyes widened in fear.
He tried to remain calm, but the terror in his expression was impossible to hide.
“No…” Jake muttered, his voice strained. “Not this…”
Dr. Mei didn’t acknowledge his words, her expression devoid of any sympathy.
“You brought this on yourself. Now, let’s teach you a lesson.”
Su Jiyai felt a strange kind of rage in her heart.
Though she harbored negative emotions toward Jake, it doesn’t change the fact that Jake saved her twice.
Her instincts screamed at her that something terrible was about to happen.
She couldn’t move, her small form frozen in place as she watched the scene unfold.
Dr. Pan’s cold laughter broke the silence. He knelt down beside her, his eyes glinting with malice as he leaned in close.

“The Blue Cat,” he mused, his voice dripping with condescension.
“You’re quite the anomaly, aren’t you? Something like you doesn’t belong by Jake’s side. I wonder… Could you be the task executor who has returned?”
Su Jiyai’s ears twitched, confusion rippling through her.
Task executor?
What was he talking about? But she didn’t have time to dwell on it, as Dr. Pan’s next words sent a wave of icy terror through her.
“I think it’s time we tested a theory,” he continued with a wicked grin.
“I wonder what kind of creature you’ll become once the zombie virus runs through your veins. Would you turn into a beast like the others, or something… more interesting?
After all, a task executor’s body is much stronger!”
What is a task executor anyway? Su Jiyai was irritated.
However the word ‘zombie virus’ grabbed all of her focus.
Su Jiyai’s eyes widened, her body tensing as she processed the threat.
He was serious.
He wanted to inject her with the zombie virus, to turn her into some grotesque creature for his twisted amusement.
The realization sent a jolt of fury through her, and she gritted her teeth in anger.
The world was already crumbling under the weight of the apocalypse.
Innocent lives were snuffed out daily by the zombies, and yet people like Dr. Mei and Dr. Pan were allowed to continue their sick experiments.
How could they live with themselves?
Instead of helping humanity survive, they were perpetuating the destruction, using their knowledge to play god with people’s lives.
The injustice of it all ignited a fire deep within Su Jiyai’s chest.
Rage boiled in her veins, mixing with helplessness.
Why? Why were people like them still alive while so many good souls had perished?
They should have died, not the innocents.
The world would be better off without them.
Her thoughts spiraled, and a dangerous idea began to form in her mind.
She wished she could make them disappear, make them vanish from her world forever.
Dr. Mei, with her eerie calm, and cruel smile. Dr. Pan, with his vicious plans and arrogance. They didn’t deserve to be here.
They should be gone.
Her claws extended, digging into the cold, metallic floor as her fury grew.
If only I could send them away…
And then, something clicked in her mind. A sudden realization dawned on her, a wild thought that made her heart skip a beat.
Her dimension-hunting ability had been unstable lately, yes, but what if that instability had been a sign of her breakthrough?
She had suspected it earlier when she kept switching through portals uncontrollably.
Perhaps she had ascended to the second level of Dimension Hunting.
If that were true, she might be able to open a portal and send others away, not just herself.
Her pulse quickened.
Could she really do it? Could she send Dr. Mei and Dr. Pan to some distant dimension, far away from here?
It was a risk. She wasn’t sure if her powers were fully under control yet, but the thought of letting these two monsters continue their experiments, destroying her base, locating Lin Hao, and causing more trouble for her, filled her with a cold determination.
If there was even a chance that she could stop them, she had to try.
