Chapter 207: Chapter 207: Dealing With General -1
Her part here was done.
She had returned the favor—saved his life, just as he had saved hers.
But she had no time to linger.
There was still someone else she had to deal with—the third person she had seen earlier, the one she suspected that had the most power. The general.
As Su Jiyai made her way toward the exit, she felt Jake’s presence behind her. She hadn’t expected him to follow, but there he was, trailing after her.
“Are you… going after the general?” Jake asked, his voice cautious as if he already knew the answer.
His words made Su Jiyai pause. She turned to look at him, her eyes narrowing slightly.
How had he known her plan? Could he read her thoughts, or was he simply that intuitive?
Su Jiyai nodded, confirming his suspicion.
The general was the last loose end. If she could deal with him, she could ensure that her base wouldn’t be attacked, at least not for the time being.
Jake’s expression darkened.
“You need to be careful,” he said, his voice low and serious.
“The general… He’s not like Mei and Pan. He has powers. Strange ones. It’s not just strength or speed. He can kill you within 5 seconds, so its better if you don’t take action against him.”
Su Jiyai was having headaches.
Jake was her enemy. Logically speaking she shouldn’t believe his words, but the certainty in his eyes made her have second thoughts.
Was he…perhaps…telling the truth?
As if sensing her doubts Jake smirked,
“Want me to prove it?”
Su Jiyai’s instincts screamed at her not to trust Jake, but she also knew that any misstep here could cost her everything.
Finally, she gave Jake a single, subtle nod. His smirk widened, and he chuckled softly, clearly pleased with her response.
“Follow me,” he said, turning toward a dimly lit corridor.
Su Jiyai hesitated for just a fraction of a second before following.
As they walked, she made sure to stay alert, scanning the area for any signs of danger.
They passed through a series of metal hallways, the sound of their footsteps echoing in the silence.
After a few twists and turns, they entered a section of the building where the soldiers were no longer wearing the standard green uniforms.
Instead, these soldiers were dressed in pristine white. Su Jiyai’s eyes narrowed as she sensed something different about them.
As she got closer, she noticed the faintest shimmer of coldness emanating from their suits.
“Temperature-controlling suits,” she muttered under her breath.
Temperature-controlling suits were rare and expensive, usually reserved for elite forces or extremely wealthy organizations.

How could this institute, with its twisted experiments and dangerous ambitions, afford to outfit all its soldiers with such advanced equipment?
There had to be a larger force behind this operation.
A backer. But who? And why?
Before she could dwell further on the question, Jake led her toward a more remote section of the facility, away from the main hustle of soldiers.
They came upon a solitary soldier, walking casually toward the bathroom.
Jake glanced around to make sure no one else was in sight before quickening his pace to catch up with the man.
“Watch this,” Jake whispered to Su Jiyai with a mischievous glint in his eye.
Without hesitation, Jake activated his vampire power—Daze.
Su Jiyai watched as the soldier’s eyes glazed over, his posture relaxing as if he had fallen into a trance.
Jake approached him calmly, his voice low but commanding.
“You’re going to find the general,” Jake instructed, his words deliberate. “And when you do, you will kill him.”
The soldier’s brow furrowed for a moment, a flicker of resistance flashing in his eyes, but it quickly faded.
Under Jake’s influence, he nodded in agreement, his movements robotic as he accepted the command.
Su Jiyai observed the entire process in silence, her eyes narrowing.
Jake was still cruel, manipulating this man into being a puppet for his own ends.
Though she had her own objectives, watching Jake pull the strings like this left a bitter taste in her mouth.
It reminded her that no matter the alliances formed at this moment, Jake was still dangerous.
As if reading her thoughts, Jake turned to her with a smirk. But before he could say anything, Su Jiyai tapped her paws on his pants and pointed in one direction.
Jake followed the direction Su Jiyai was pointing.
He seemed taken aback at first, but then a sly smile spread across his face. He was clearly impressed by her strategic thinking.
“Alright, I’ll take care of it,” Jake said, nodding in approval before disappearing down the hallway.
Su Jiyai waited her blue fur on edge, tension coiling in her muscles.
Ten minutes passed, and Jake returned, moving swiftly and silently.
He ordered the soldier, who was still under the influence of Daze, to execute the task.
With that done, Jake grabbed Su Jiyai, pulling her into a shadowed corner where they could remain hidden as they followed the soldier.
They moved carefully, staying out of sight as they trailed behind the dazed soldier.
Eventually, they reached a large open ground where the other soldiers were training.
Rows of men and women in their white suits were practicing combat techniques, their movements precise and efficient.
In the center of the field, the general stood, overseeing the drills.
He wore a similar white suit, but he had distinct silver accents, marking him as someone of higher rank.
Su Jiyai watched from her hiding spot, her eyes narrowing as the soldier under Jake’s control approached the general.
The general looked mildly confused by the sudden interruption, his brow furrowing as the soldier walked right up to him without any explanation.
“What is it?” the general asked, his voice deep and authoritative.
But the soldier didn’t respond with words.
Instead, without hesitation, he pulled a knife from his belt and lunged forward, aiming directly for the general’s abdomen.
What Su Jiyai saw next left her speechless.
