Chapter 227: Chapter 227: Techniques
Su Jiyai chuckled without giving an answer to the system. Instead, she turned to Jake who looked shocked to the core.
“I know about your past, not a lot but it is substantial.”
Jake’s expression tightened at Su Jiyai’s words, but he quickly masked his emotions, covering the flicker of excitement that sparked in his chest.
He had waited so long to uncover the truth about his past, and now, standing before him was someone who claimed to hold the key.
His heart raced, but his voice remained calm as he asked, “Tell me.”
Su Jiyai, however, merely shook her head, her lips curling into a slight smile.
“I will,” she said, “but I want something in return.”
Jake’s eyes narrowed. He had expected this.
Su Jiyai never did anything without a motive, and she wasn’t the type to give away information for free.
He crossed his arms, his gaze steady as he studied her.
“What do you want?” he asked, his tone careful, betraying nothing of the storm brewing inside him.
Without hesitation, Su Jiyai replied,
“I want you to write down all the powers a vampire can have, the method to awaken them, and how to practice them. And…” She paused, letting the tension between them build before adding, “…I want the healing methods too.”
Jake blinked, stunned.
The request had caught him off guard, but what truly surprised him was the last part.
Up until this point, he had assumed Su Jiyai hadn’t noticed his healing abilities.
He had been careful to hide them, especially when they were together.
Yet here she was, asking for something he thought he had kept secret.
He stared at her, trying to mask the growing unease inside him.
How much did she know? How much had she already pieced together about his abilities, his origins?
His mind raced, but outwardly, he remained composed.
Inwardly, however, Jake muttered to himself, Su Jiyai really is a smart person. She’s been observing, and learning all this time, even when I wasn’t paying attention.
“Why should I trust you?” Jake asked calmly, though his words carried a dangerous undertone.
Trusting anyone, especially someone as enigmatic and calculating as Su Jiyai, was a gamble.
And Jake wasn’t sure if he was ready to place his bet on her just yet.
Su Jiyai didn’t flinch at his question.
She met his gaze squarely, her expression cool and unbothered.
“It doesn’t matter whether you trust me or not,” she replied, her voice as sharp as ever.
“I can leave whenever I want. It’s up to you to decide if you want to know your past well enough. You’re the one who has something to lose here, Jake, not me.”

Her words cut deep, and Jake felt a surge of frustration rise inside him.
She wasn’t wrong.
She was the one holding all the cards, while he was left fumbling in the dark, desperate for answers.
If Su Jiyai had been as clueless as General Yi, he could have played this differently.
He could have remained nonchalant, unaffected, and negotiated from a position of strength.
But now… now Su Jiyai had him exactly where she wanted him.
He sighed heavily, realizing that for now, he had no choice but to play along.
“Alright,” he said finally, his voice laced with reluctance. “What exactly do you want me to write down?”
Su Jiyai didn’t hesitate.
She listed the vampire abilities she was interested in with a level of detail that left Jake stunned.
“I want everything on Blood Swipe, Blood Wall, Blood Cannon, Daze, Self-Healing…”
She continued listing off techniques, and Jake couldn’t help but feel a growing sense of unease as she rattled off every single one of his abilities as if she had been watching him for years.
She knew far more than he had ever expected.
By the time she finished, Jake was speechless.
He stared at her, processing the depth of her knowledge, and finally asked,
“Who is this for? Considering I’m the only vampire in this world… why do you need all of this?”
Su Jiyai rolled her eyes at him, clearly unimpressed by his question.
“I have a favor to return to the vampires in the vampire world,” she said, her tone flippant as if the answer was obvious.
Jake narrowed his eyes.
Her response didn’t sit well with him.
He didn’t believe for a second that this was just some favor. But he was desperate.
He needed to know about his past, and Su Jiyai was the only person who had any information about it.
Still, he wasn’t ready to give in just yet.
He looked at her, his expression softening slightly, his voice taking on a more emotional tone.
“Do you really not care about the past two weeks we’ve spent together?” he asked, his eyes searching her face for any sign of hesitation.
“Haven’t you developed any feelings for me at all?”
Su Jiyai smiled, but it wasn’t the warm, affectionate smile Jake had hoped for. It was sharp, almost mocking.
“Feelings?” she repeated, raising an eyebrow. “And what exactly are those? Can they be eaten?”
Jake clenched his jaw, his fists tightening at his sides.
He was furious, but he didn’t show it.
Instead, he let out a humorless laugh, the sound bitter in the air between them.
He had tried to appeal to her emotions, but of course, Su Jiyai wasn’t the type to be swayed by something like that.
She was too calculating and too focused on her own goals.
He exhaled slowly, forcing himself to calm down.
“Fine,” he said, at last, his voice low. “I’ll do it.”
A flicker of triumph passed through Su Jiyai’s eyes, but she didn’t gloat.
She simply nodded, her expression returning to its usual composed state.
“Good,” she said.
Jake couldn’t help but feel like he had lost something in this exchange, even though he had gained the possibility of learning about his past.
Su Jiyai had played him perfectly, and now, he was left wondering just how much more she knew about him than she let on.
