Chapter 236: Chapter 236: Honey
Su Jiyai pointed directions to Jake and reached outside a room, she said,
“You rest here, I am going to report to Boss Su.”
Jake paused and asked,
“Aren’t you going to thank me?”
“Hm? Why should I? Didn’t you say you will listen to my command?” Su Jiyai counterattacked with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Jake sighed, as he put her on the ground and muttered,
“Take care, if you need any help, tell me.”
Su Jiyai nodded before leaving. Once out of Jake’s sight, she used teleportation and went back to her room.
Feeling sleepy, she lay on the bed and slept for an entire day.
The next day when she woke up, she took a shower, did a workout, and ate her breakfast. Feeling fresh, and energetic, Su Jiyai decided to work. It has been a long time since she looked into the base’s matter.
She checked her account balance and sure enough, it had reached an astronomical sum.
Her honey factory’s inauguration was done and the products were getting sold out.
It just happens that the first batch was sold today.
The group of five gathered outside the base, their expressions a mix of excitement and boredom.
It was just another day in the wasteland, another chance to earn some crystals and bring them back to the base.
They had ventured out countless times before, fighting zombies and collecting what they could to make a living.
Today, however, they were carrying something new—bottles of honey they had bought out of sheer curiosity.
“Are we really taking this stuff with us?” one of the team members, Lian, asked, holding up a small bottle of honey.
His tone was skeptical.
“It’s just honey. I don’t see how it’s supposed to help us in a fight.”
The team leader, Bo, shrugged, adjusting the sunproof cloak around his shoulders.
“It’s supposed to give a boost to our stamina or something. If it works, great. If not, we can just sell it to someone else. No harm done.”
The rest of the team exchanged doubtful glances.
They had heard some buzz around the base about this honey, but no one really knew if it was worth the price.
Still, they figured it couldn’t hurt to bring it along. Better to be safe than sorry.
With their cloaks securely fastened, the five of them stepped out of the base into the blazing heat.
The sun was merciless, and without the protection of their cloaks, they would have been burned to a crisp within minutes.
The world outside the base was harsh, barren, and unforgiving—a wasteland filled with dangers at every turn.
But for those brave (or foolish) enough to venture out, there was an opportunity in the form of zombie crystals, which could be sold for a handsome profit.

After a few hours of walking, they spotted their target: a small horde of zombies, about ten of them, wandering aimlessly in the distance.
From the looks of it, they were low-level zombies, probably around level 1 or 2. Nothing too challenging for a well-prepared team like theirs.
Bo raised a hand, signaling the team to stop.
“Alright, this should be easy,” he said, his voice confident.
“Ten zombies, five of us. We’ve got two Fire users and three Thunder users. We’ll wipe them out, grab the crystals, and head back before noon.”
The others nodded, not particularly worried. With their abilities, this should be a straightforward fight.
The fire users, Mei and Xing, were particularly excited since zombies were usually vulnerable to fire.
The thunder users—Lian, Zhao, and Yu—were more cautious but still optimistic. They had faced worse odds before and come out on top.
Bo gave the signal, and the two fire users moved forward, raising their hands to unleash a wave of fire at the approaching zombies.
The flames surged forward, enveloping the horde in a fiery blaze. For a moment, it seemed like the fight would end as easily as they had anticipated.
But then something strange happened.
The zombies walked through the fire unharmed, their bodies seemingly immune to the scorching heat.
The flames licked their skin, but instead of burning, the zombies kept moving, their glowing eyes locked on the team.
“What the—?” Mei stammered, her eyes wide with shock. “Why isn’t it working?”
“They’re not normal zombies!” Xing shouted, his voice tinged with panic. “They’re heat-resistant!”
Bo cursed under his breath. Heat-resistant zombies? That wasn’t something they had encountered before.
And these zombies, though they looked like weak, level 1 creatures, were moving with a speed and coordination that reminded him of much stronger, more dangerous zombies.
“They’re stronger than they look!” Bo yelled. “Thunder users, get ready!”
Lian, Zhao, and Yu didn’t need to be told twice.
They immediately stepped up, channeling their powers.
Bolts of electricity crackled in the air as they unleashed a series of thunder strikes at the zombies.
The first few hits connected, and three of the zombies went down, their bodies twitching and smoking from the electric shock.
But the remaining zombies were relentless. They surged forward, and before the team could react, they were upon them.
One of the zombies grabbed hold of their car, its hands digging into the metal with inhuman strength.
Bo’s heart sank as he realized they were trapped.
They couldn’t retreat—the zombies had blocked their only escape route.
“We’re going to die here,” Zhao whispered, his face pale as the remaining zombies closed in on them.
“Not yet!” Bo shouted, trying to rally the team. “We can still fight!”
But the truth was, they were out of options.
The fire users’ abilities were useless, and the thunder users were quickly running out of energy.
They had managed to take down three zombies, but seven still remained, and those seven were faster, stronger, and more dangerous than anything they had faced before.
Yu, his breathing labored, suddenly remembered the bottle of honey he had bought.
Maybe it’s worth a try, he thought desperately.
With no other options left, he unscrewed the cap and quickly downed the entire bottle.
As soon as the honey touched his throat, something incredible happened.
