Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Exchange
Su Jiyai leaned back in her chair, her eyes glinting with excitement as she opened the system’s trading panel.
Her fingers moved quickly, selecting two level-4 zombie crystals to trade for skincare products.
“Alright, system, show me what these other worlds have to offer!” she said to herself, barely containing her excitement.
Within a minute, her screen flashed with an incoming proposal.
The system chimed in, and Su Jiyai’s eyes brightened.
That was fast!
She glanced at the offer eagerly, but her excitement faded as she read the description of the proposed trade: low-level beautifying pills.
Her brow furrowed.
That didn’t sound right. She had offered two level-4 zombie crystals—those were valuable!
They could fuel powerful abilities.
And in exchange, this person was offering low-level pills? Su Jiyai’s lips twitched in annoyance.
“System, analyze this trade for me,” she said, leaning forward.
The system quickly responded,
[Host, this is not a fair trade. The pills being offered are of inferior quality. I advise against proceeding with the exchange.]
Su Jiyai scoffed.
She had a hunch the offer was too good to be true.
But before she could cancel the trade, another message popped up from the trader on the other side.
The words were written in a sharp, arrogant tone:
“You should hurry up and accept this deal. I don’t have time to waste on small-time traders like you. If you don’t want it, I’ll find someone else who appreciates the offer.”
Su Jiyai blinked. Then she blinked again.
The sheer audacity of the message made her laugh out loud. Small-time trader? Who did this guy think he was dealing with?
She was about to decline the trade, but then she paused. This could be fun. She decided to play along for a bit.
“System,” she murmured, “let’s see how much we can squeeze out of this fool.”
She typed back, her fingers flying over the keyboard, her expression calm yet calculating:
“Oh? Small-time, you say? Well, it seems to me that you’re the one offering low-grade pills for high-quality zombie crystals.
I could go find a better deal elsewhere, but I think I’ll stick around just to see what you’ll do when your ‘small-time trader’ turns you down.”
A few seconds passed, and then another message appeared:
“You’re clearly new to this. These pills are rare and valuable on lesser planets like yours. You should be thanking me for even considering an exchange. If you don’t take this offer, you’ll regret it.”
Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow.

The arrogance was practically dripping from the message. She stifled another laugh. This was too easy.
She replied quickly:
“Rare? Valuable? Is that what you tell everyone when you’re trying to dump low-quality goods? I wasn’t born yesterday.
If you think I’m going to trade top-tier crystals for your scraps, you’re clearly the one who’s new here.
How about you stop wasting my time and come back when you have something worth trading?”
The line went silent for a moment.
Su Jiyai imagined the person on the other side sputtering in indignation.
After about a minute, the next message arrived:
“Fine. I’ll add two more items to sweeten the deal. You drive a hard bargain, but I can’t pass up these zombie crystals.
How about a set of rejuvenation tonics and a defensive charm? The charm alone could fetch a high price on your planet.”
Su Jiyai smirked, satisfied that her little push had worked. However, she wasn’t one to let her guard down just yet.
“System, analyze these new items,” she instructed, her eyes sharp as she waited for the verdict.
A moment later, the system responded,
[Host, the rejuvenation tonics are decent and the defensive charm is of moderate quality. This deal is now more balanced. It would be an acceptable trade, though not an outstanding one.]
Su Jiyai considered the offer for a moment.
The trader had clearly underestimated her, but at least they were now offering something worthwhile. Still, she couldn’t resist one last jab.
“Well, well,” she typed, her lips curling into a mischievous grin.
“Looks like you can play nice when you need to. I’ll accept the trade, but only because I’m feeling generous today. Don’t expect such charity next time.”
The response came quickly, the tone now more subdued:
“Very well. A pleasure doing business with you.”
Su Jiyai chuckled to herself as she finalized the trade.
The low-level beautifying pills, rejuvenation tonics, and defensive charm appeared in her system inventory, and her two zombie crystals were transferred in return.
She leaned back, feeling victorious.
“You really have to love the audacity of some people,” she muttered, shaking her head. “Thinking they can scam me.”
She inspected the items she had just received.
The rejuvenation tonics would be useful—she could add them to her stockpile for emergencies.
The defensive charm wasn’t bad either, though she would likely pass it along to one of her security team members.
The beautifying pills, though? She chuckled again. She’d probably just toss them into the supermarket.
With a hang of it, Su Jiyai put up the zombie crystal again but this time she asked for fertile soil that help to grow plants even in an apocalypse.
She also put up the request for the formula for the zombie virus.
With that Su Jiyai exited the interface, did some more workouts, and improved her training ability in the VR room for the next 2 hours, before going to bed.
Su Jiyai was so tired that she forgot Su Yun. By the time she remembered about her, Su Yun had already rented a room.
With a sigh, Su Jiyai checked the lease period. If it was more than 1 month, she would refund the money, if it wasn’t she would let her stay and see what her good sister was up to.
However, what she didn’t know was Su Yun would take action so soon.
Su Yun’s plan unfolded faster than she could have anticipated.
Within hours of spreading the rumor, tenants began whispering about her supposed connection to Boss Su.
Skepticism turned into curiosity, and soon, curiosity gave way to cautious belief.
