Chapter 244: Chapter 244: Power
“Then the contract will terminate… along with your access to the base. I will also blacklist you.” Boss Su said bluntly.
Xi Ping started to weigh the pros and cons. She didn’t flee from Crystal Cove just to enter another hell.
But the thought of finding her brother—of finally reuniting with the only family she had left—gave her the strength to nod.
“I agree,” she said firmly.
“Good,” Boss Su said. “Tell me your brother’s name then.”
“Xi Ziang.” Xi Ping answered softly.
For a minute the entire conference room turned silent.
Xi Ping waited for a long while before asking,
“Boss Su?”
“Ah? Yeah. Okay. I will find him for you.” Boss Su answered. “As for your accommodation and food, Yuan Xin will take care of it.”
“Alright.” Xi Ping was assured. With that, she left.
Su Jiyai in her control room leaned on the table with a dazed look.
Xi Ziang…
How can she forget him? He was her military dormmate. The cheerful-looking guy with a black heart.
[Host isn’t Xi Ziang one of those who bullied you earlier?]
“Not sure.” Su Jiyai muttered. There may be some other Xi Ziang out there and she hopes that Xi Ziang whom Xi Ping mentioned was not the Xi Ziang she knew.
Things will get complicated if so.
Su Jiyai decided to focus on the good news instead.
Xi Ping was soon going to be official in her team. With the addition of Xi Ping and Jake to her team, she doesn’t need to worry about her safety anymore and can easily run more errands with them by her side.
“System prepare a contract for Xi Ping and make sure to state everything clearly.” She ordered.
[Yes host.]
Su Jiyai then turned her camera back to Su Yun seeing her getting beaten was a joy for her.
Ah…
A few memories flashed in her mind.
…………..
She was seven years old, shivering in the biting cold of the balcony.
The winter wind howled around her, cutting through her thin pajamas like icy daggers.
She had knocked on the locked glass door, calling out for Su Yun to let her in, but her foster sister’s laughter was the only response she received.
“Stay out there and think about what you did wrong!” Su Yun had said, her voice dripping with mock concern.

Su Jiyai hadn’t done anything wrong. She never did, but Su Yun always found reasons to punish her.
After what felt like hours, she’d curled up on the cold concrete, her teeth chattering so violently she thought they might crack.
When she was finally allowed back inside, her foster mother didn’t comfort her.
Instead, she scolded her for “making a scene” and accused her of exaggerating.
Another memory took its place, just as painful. It was winter again.
Su Jiyai had been given a small corner of the balcony as her “room.” One morning, she awoke to find her blanket soaked through.
The pungent smell of urine filled her makeshift space.
At first, she thought it was an accident, but when she saw Su Yun smirking from the doorway, realization dawned.
Su Yun had deliberately wet her bed.
Her foster mother refused to believe her when she tried to explain, accusing her of lying to cover her own “shame.”
Then there were the meals.
Su Yun had a talent for manipulation, always finding ways to incite their foster mother against Su Jiyai.
“She’s been sneaking food at night,” Su Yun had once claimed.
Without questioning the accusation, their foster mother had stormed into the kitchen, snatching away Jiyai’s portion of rice and handing it to Su Yun instead.
“You’ll eat less until you learn some discipline,” she’d said coldly.
Jiyai’s stomach had growled loudly that night as she lay awake on her cold balcony, while Su Yun’s mocking laughter echoed in her ears.
The worst, however, were the rumors. Su Yun had a gift for crafting lies that stuck.
She’d told their neighbors and others that Jiyai was sleeping with some wild man to earn food and that she loved to snatch her(Su Yun) food portion.
Later the neighbors knew the truth and stopped scolding Su Jiyai but it became a scar Su Jiyai never forgot.
Then there was Ou Lin…
Su Jiyai’s fingers gripped the edge of the table as the memories subsided, her nails digging into the cold metal surface.
She stared at the screen in front of her, the live feed of Su Yun’s predicament playing out like a balm to her wounded soul.
The sight of her foster sister—the one who had caused her so much pain—finally facing consequences felt like poetic justice.
“Su Yun,” she muttered under her breath, her voice cold and devoid of emotion.
“You always thought you could do whatever you wanted without repercussions. Let’s see how you handle being on the receiving end for once.”
Her system chimed, pulling her back to the present.
[Host, the contract for Xi Ping has been prepared. Would you like to review it?]
“Later,” Su Jiyai replied her focus still on the screen. She wasn’t done savoring this moment.
For so long, she’d been the victim. Now, the tables had turned.
[Host do you want to kick Su Yun?]
“Ah? What are you talking about.” Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow.
[Host she mistreated you earlier, don’t you want revenge?]
“System you are too naive. I am the owner of the base, and she is just a weak powerless tenant here. If I kick her out now, won’t it be easy for her?” Su Jiyai asked.
Kick Su Yun out? Nope.
Before she didn’t want much interaction with Su Yun, but the more she saw Su Yun getting beaten up the more thrilled she felt.
And that was when it dawned on her…she never let go of the things she suffered.
She only didn’t have the power to defeat these villains and hence kept her mouth shut.
Now? She has more than enough power to get back at the villains of her life.
