Chapter 249: Chapter 249: Parents
Huo Ning left to rest, while Su Jiyai stared at the sprouts with a smile.
Once she had enough, Su Jiyai returned to the underground room and started to absorb the 3rd piece of red crystal.
Once she was done with the 3rd piece, Su Jiyai fainted. By the time she opened her eyes, it was already night.
However, what surprised her was the difference in the size of objects around her. Because of her cat form, the things around her seemed to have grown in size by 3 times.
But now…they seemed only 2 times bigger…
Su Jiyai stood before the mirror, her heart racing as she stared at her reflection, trying to comprehend what had just happened.
Her body, once sleek and cat-like, was no longer feline.
She still had fur, but it was now a different texture—thicker, rougher, with a deep blue tint.
Her ears had changed shape, her legs were longer, and her once delicate paws had morphed into something resembling powerful claws.
She was larger and more muscular, yet her frame was still undeniably small.
She looked nothing like the blue cat she had been only a few hours ago.
“System! System!” Su Jiyai shouted frantically.
[What happened host?]
Hearing its calm voice, Su Jiyai almost exploded with anger.
“What the f*ck do you mean what happened? Can’t you see? I have turned into something…different!”
[Host, what are you talking about?]
“Don’t play dumb with me! I was a cat earlier…now I seem…strange!” Su Jiyai scolded.
She gestured towards her reflection with one of her now-clawed paws.
There was a brief pause before the system spoke again.
[Host, you are currently in the evolution phase. What you are experiencing is a natural transformation.]
Su Jiyai blinked, her agitation momentarily replaced by confusion.
“Evolution phase? What do you mean? What am I evolving into?” She took a step closer to the mirror, narrowing her eyes as she examined herself. “And what’s with this form?”
The system’s voice remained steady, but this time it carried a bit more weight.
[Host, you originally belonged to this lineage. Your current transformation is a manifestation of your true bloodline.]
Su Jiyai’s mind whirled.
“True bloodline? What are you talking about?” she demanded.
“What kind of bloodline is this? And what exactly have I been absorbing?”
There was a pause before the system responded, as though it was trying to figure out how to explain this.
[Host, the crystals you’ve been absorbing… they are power crystals from the bloodline of a werewolf.]

“What is werewolf?”
[Host, werewolf is a human who can change into a wolf. And this power crystal belongs to werewolf queen. ]
For a moment, Su Jiyai could only stare at her reflection, dumbstruck.
“Werewolf queen?” she repeated slowly as if saying it out loud would help her understand. Her heart pounded in her chest.
“How… how can I, a human, absorb the power crystal of a werewolf queen?” Her voice rose in pitch as the confusion turned to panic.
The system remained silent.
Realization slowly began to dawn on Su Jiyai. Her thoughts raced as she tried to piece everything together.
“The only way I could’ve absorbed that crystal,” she muttered to herself, “is if I already had… some kind of werewolf lineage within me.”
She shook her head as if trying to dispel the idea, but her eyes remained fixed on her reflection.
“No, that’s impossible,” she said, almost as if trying to convince herself. “I’ve never had anything to do with wolves… I was just an ordinary human.”
The room felt suddenly smaller, as if the walls were closing in on her.
Her pulse pounded in her ears, and a strange mix of fear and excitement surged through her veins.
She was trembling, but she couldn’t tell if it was from fear or something else.
“System…” Su Jiyai spoke quietly now, almost afraid to hear the answer.
“Is it possible… could my parents have been… a vampire and a werewolf?”
The silence lingered for a moment longer before the system finally responded, but this time its voice was firm—almost defensive.
[Host, you are overthinking this. Your parents were human. There is no evidence to suggest anything else.]
Su Jiyai wasn’t convinced.
Her gut told her there was more to the story than the system was letting on.
“No,” she said quietly, shaking her head.
“That doesn’t make sense. How could I transform into a wolf—especially into something as specific as a werewolf queen—just by absorbing a power crystal? That shouldn’t be possible unless…”
Her eyes widened with certainty as the pieces clicked into place.
“Unless I’ve had the blood of a werewolf in me this whole time.”
She looked at her reflection again, her blue-furred body standing tall in the mirror.
“And if I transformed into a vampire just because one scratched me… then that must mean I also have vampire blood.”
Her mind reeled at the implications, but deep down, the pieces were falling into place in a way that made undeniable sense.
She couldn’t believe she hadn’t realized it sooner.
“My parents…” Su Jiyai whispered, her voice trembling slightly.
“They were a vampire and a werewolf, weren’t they? That’s the only explanation. That’s why I can transform into both.”
The system, which had been silent for a long time, finally spoke again, but its voice was far less certain this time.
[Host, you’re jumping to conclusions. There is no proof of that. You need to focus on your current situation rather than—]
Su Jiyai ignored the system.
After staying with the system for so long she can understand when it was lying and when it was telling the truth.
As for her theory, she had her own reason.
The photo she had seen in the vampire world…it looked like her…so it can mean…that, the person in the photo was maybe biologically related to her.
Her mother was vampire and her father was most like a werewolf…
