Chapter 262: Chapter 262: Crystal
“Lin Zhi, Head of Resources. Wu Jian, Commander of the West Gate. Both of them have been secretly siphoning off resources and are involved in the discussion of taking down Hope Base.”
Jake nodded grimly, processing the names.
“I found three more—Xu Hao, Lieutenant of the Eastern Block, and Chen Ming, who’s been running an underground smuggling ring for rare items. They r*pe women and love to take over small bases.
Qin Xun the base leader is involved in human trafficking while the vice-captain buys and sells women.
I have noticed all of them are higher authorities and other than them no one possesses real power and is evil.”
The room fell silent for a moment, the gravity of the situation sinking in. It was clear that corruption had permeated deep into the Crystal Cove base.
Then, it was Fu Lin’s turn. His expression shifted, and he carefully reached into his bag, pulling out a crystal.
The crystal was a yellow and bluish color.
“I found this in a research lab and felt it was unique…so I picked it up.” Fu Lin explained.
Su Jiyai’s gaze instantly locked onto the crystal, her eyes widening with a strange sense of fascination.
The crystal radiated a fiery aura and something deep within her stirred—a pull that she couldn’t quite explain.
She meowed softly, stepping forward with a strange longing in her eyes, her paws moving toward the crystal.
[Host, be careful!] The system’s voice rang in her mind suddenly, sharp and urgent.
[Touching that fire crystal could trigger an unexpected reaction in your body. It’s not ordinary.]
Su Jiyai halted mid-step, her instincts telling her to trust the system’s warning.
She retracted her paw, glancing at Jake with a look that conveyed everything.
Jake, catching the signal, turned to Fu Lin. “Leave the crystal on the conference table.”
Fu Lin hesitated for a moment but then nodded, setting the crystal down on the table.
“Let’s not take any chances with this one,” Jake said, his voice serious. “We’ll need to study it more before anyone touches it.”
Then under Jake’s guidance, all of them jolted down the names and left.
Jake was the last one to leave and he stared at Su Jiyai expecting a response from her.
“How did you turn into a wolf cub?”
“I wasn’t a cat to begin with.” Su Jiyai answered. She was curious about the crystal and wanted to research it but with Jake’s presence she couldn’t do so, so she got straight to the point.
“I know you were a human before.” Jake rolled his eyes. Then suddenly said, “Show me your human form.”
“No.” Su Jiyai declined right away.
“Heartless,” Jake muttered and left.
Once he left, Su Jiyai teleported back to her underground room, and once there she touched the crystal.
The crystal’s warmth spread through her paws and into her very core, igniting a strange sensation deep within her.
Her blue fur shimmered under the fiery glow, and for a brief second, the world around her seemed to blur.

The energy from the crystal wasn’t gentle—it was fierce, raw, like a wild flame struggling to be contained.
A soft gasp escaped her lips as her limbs elongated, her paws morphing into slender fingers.
Her wolf muzzle began to retract, reshaping into the familiar contours of her human face.
Blue flames flickered around her, licking at her skin but never burning.
Instead, the flames seemed to merge with her, becoming part of her very essence.
Her fur faded away, replaced by smooth, pale skin, while her once-short and stout frame grew taller, more defined.
As her human form fully solidified, her hair, now a deep shade of blue with faint streaks of flame-like glow, cascaded down her back.
She felt taller, and stronger, her senses sharper than they had ever been.
Su Jiyai was surprised when she saw the familiar blue hair and her eyes glistened with joy.
“Yes! Yes! I am back to my normal self!”
She turned to the crystal which at some point turned into ashes. If possible she wanted to give it a kiss.
“System do you know this crystal?”
[Host, I can only sense the unstable energy around it.]
Su Jiyai wasn’t worried and asked the system to give her a sketch of the crystal and without hesitation, she posted it to the announcement board.
As long as she had 9 such types of crystals will she still need to worry about not being able to transform back into her human form?
Su Jiyai feeling sleepy went to bed. She only had a chance to sleep for 4 hours, when the representatives of the Military arrived.
After changing into regular clothes, she sat on the chair and looked at the monitor.
She raised an eyebrow when she saw an additional person in the conference room.
Other than Liu Feng, Dong Shin had come too.
Liu Feng greeted Su Jiyai while staring at the speaker. Dong Shin on the other hand expressed his dissatisfaction,
“Boss Su is truly amazing, she doesn’t care to grace us with her presence.”
Su Jiyai leaned back in her chair, watching the monitor with an amused glint in her eyes.
“You’re in my base, mister,” Su Jiyai replied calmly, her voice steady but carrying an underlying sharpness. “I can choose to attend however I like.”
Dong Shin’s expression tightened, his dissatisfaction evident, but he knew better than to push too hard. Su Jiyai was not someone to trifle with.
Liu Feng rolled his eyes at Dong Shin and said,
“If you are so dissatisfied just leave.”
Dong Shin was so angry that he wanted to kick Liu Feng. But remembering the Chairman’s words, he held back.
Su Jiyai continued, this time her tone was much colder,
“If you can’t be grateful for what is given to you then, I won’t mind explaining why you should be grateful.”
Dong Shin was so angry that he wanted to stand up and leave, but Liu Feng gave him a stare which caused him to grit his teeth and turn silent.
“Boss Su, we’re grateful for your time, as always,” Liu Feng said, his tone soothing.
