She smiled. “Don’t worry. I will.”

What followed was slow and methodical. Xi Ping didn’t hold back. Every scream, every plea for mercy only fueled her resolve. She wanted them to feel the pain they had caused her tenfold.

Her foster mother sobbed, begging, “Please, Xi Ping! We’re sorry! We’ll do anything—just stop!”

Her foster father’s bravado crumbled. He shouted, then whimpered, “Let us go! We won’t bother you again, I swear!”

Xi Ping tilted her head, watching them with a cold detachment. “You’re right. You won’t bother me again.”

Without hesitation, she ended it. Her blade was swift, and her strikes were final.

The shack fell into silence once more. Xi Ping stood there for a moment, staring at their lifeless forms. There was no guilt, no regret—only a strange calmness settling over her.

She walked out of the shack, leaving behind the remnants of her old life. Crystal Cove was no longer her prison. It was just another place she had conquered.

As she stepped into the night, she whispered to herself, “They can’t hurt me anymore.”

By night the news had spread in the entire Crystal Cove, that the base leader, vice leader, and all the other powerful authorities were dealt with.

The citizens of Crystal Cove panicked and felt as if the world was falling apart.

However before they can take any drastic step, the people from Boss Su’s base proposed them a good deal.

As long as they qualify, they can rent a room in Hope Base.

At first, the residents of Crystal Cove were unwilling. But when they heard of rent and cheap food, they were thrilled.

In return the leader of Hope Base wanted them to pay rent on time and be loyal to her, which was acceptable to all the residents.

They were even more surprised when they got to know that they didn’t have to pay any fees for entering and leaving the base.

All of them agreed to apply to become a tenant. After some discussion, they decided to shift to Boss Su’s base after 5 days.

During the time Su Jiyai was away, a new thing had happened. The residents of the Hope Base started a small base market.

Of course, they reported it to Yuan Xin first who later reported it to Su Jiyai.

Su Jiyai thought it was a good way to boost the economy of the base, so she agreed too.

Hence a small market base was set up.

Su Jiyai wasn’t in a rush to build more buildings when she received the news. Instead, she built only 2 buildings just enough to finish the 10,000 tenant mark.

Just then the Hope base’s army returned with the leader and vice-captain of the Crystal Cove base.

Su Jiyai didn’t even cast a single glance and ordered them to deal with them.

For the next 2 days, Su Jiyai focused on cultivating and increasing her battling experience. With a VR room, her fighting techniques improved.

Even her fire element was much stronger than before after absorbing the yellow and bluish crystal.

Just then she received news that someone from the base knew about the yellow and bluish-looking crystal.

She called the tenant into the conference room.

The tenant fidgeted a little, clearly nervous to be speaking directly with her.

“Well, I, uh, I spoke to some of the old scavengers, and they said the yellow and bluish crystals aren’t like the others we’ve been collecting. They said… they’re from a new kind of zombie.”

Su Jiyai leaned forward, interested. “Go on.”

“They said the crystals come from zombies that are fire-resistant,” the tenant continued.

“These new zombies are much faster and more agile than the Level 4 ones we’ve been dealing with. They can survive in extreme heat, and normal fire attacks don’t work on them.”

Su Jiyai frowned. Fire-resistant zombies? That was troubling news. Fire is one of the most powerful elements after thunder.

If it was ineffective then the fighting power of the tenants will be greatly reduced…

“How many of these zombies have been spotted?” she asked, her voice sharp.

“Not many yet,” the tenant replied quickly. “But they’ve been seen more often lately. The scavengers think they might be evolving.”

Su Jiyai thought for a moment.

“Thank you for bringing this to my attention,” she finally said. “You’ve done well. As a reward your half a year’s rent will be waived off.”

The tenant’s eyes lit up and he hurriedly bowed to the empty conference room, “Thank you so much, Boss Su! Thank you!”

Su Jiyai continued,

“If you can know about its weakness too, then I will waive an entire year of rent but remember to not put your life in danger for the news or trying to know it by yourself.

After all, wealth which is earned but can’t be used is waste.”

The tenant who was thinking of risking his life for more benefits, suddenly came to his senses and nodded.

The tenant bowed again and quickly left the room, relieved to be dismissed.

By the evening the system returned.
