Chapter 292: Chapter 292: Chips
He spun around, hitting Caden with a blood swipe that left deep cuts across his chest.
Within moments, the team was overwhelmed. Jake’s attacks were relentless—each blood strike hitting with deadly precision.
He moved faster than they could react, using his super strength to throw them around like ragdolls.
Jax, Nova, Vira, and Caden were left on the floor, groaning in pain. None of them could stand. Their bodies were bruised, bleeding, and too weak to fight back.
Jake stood over them, his red eyes gleaming with victory. “You were never a match for me.”
Just then a mechanical voice sounded, “Good job.”
Jax looked at the speaker and gritted his teeth,
“Boss Su, where is the zombie? If you are courageous show yourself to us!”
“I am not.” The mechanical voice sounded nonchalant.
Jax: “…”
Nova: “…”
Caden: “…”
Vira: “…”
Jax clenched his fists, glaring at the speaker.
“Boss Su,” he growled, “hand over the zombie that was born, or you’ll face the wrath of the institute!”
There was a pause, and then the mechanical voice laughed, cold and amused.
“The institute?” Boss Su’s voice was mocking. “And what exactly can your institute do to harm me or my base?”
Vira, who had been silent until now, chuckled darkly, her eyes glinting with malice.
“We know your Hope Base is self-sufficient, Boss Su. You don’t rely on outside resources.”
She smirked.
“But what if the institute decides to target your citizens? They can’t all be as strong as you, can they?”
For a moment, there was silence. The room seemed to grow colder as they waited for a response.
Then Boss Su spoke, her voice calm but dangerous.
“Earlier, I considered simply erasing your memories,” she said slowly. “But now, I think it would be better for you to die.”
Before they could react, a powerful force wrapped around their bodies, freezing them in place.
They tried to move, to struggle, but it was no use. The force was too strong.
“What’s happening?!” Jax shouted, his voice panicked.
“I can’t move!” Nova yelled, his eyes wide in fear.
In the next instant, the world around them blurred, and they were teleported away.

When they regained their senses, they found themselves standing in a beautiful room.
The walls were sleek and advanced, made of some kind of shiny material that shimmered in the light.
In the center of the room floated a ball of light, glowing softly but radiating power.
“What… is this place?” Vira whispered, her voice trembling.
The ball of light pulsed gently, almost like it was alive.
“Is that…?” Caden started, staring at the light in awe.
Jax shook his head, still trying to process what had just happened. “Where did she take us?”
Suddenly, the mechanical voice echoed through the room again, but this time it was no longer mocking.
It was calm, almost soothing. “Welcome,” Boss Su said, “to my personal space.”
Su Jiyai glanced at the intruders, and ordered the system,
“Take off all of their communication devices.”
[Yes host!]
Jax, Nova, Vira, and Caden were still frozen in place, unable to move.
Suddenly, they felt a strange tugging sensation on their bodies.
It was as if something invisible was pulling at their clothes, their wrists, and their necks.
Within moments, small devices—earpieces, wrist communicators, and even hidden ones sewn into their uniforms—were ripped away and floated toward the ball of light.
Jax tried to struggle, but it was pointless. “What’s she doing?” he growled through clenched teeth, his muscles straining against the invisible force.
The mechanical voice, now cold and without emotion, replied, “I’ve removed all your communication devices. You won’t be calling for help.”
Nova’s eyes widened in shock. “We’re trapped here,” he whispered, barely able to believe it.
Vira, her confident smirk fading, glanced nervously at Jax. “What do we do now?”
Caden’s breathing was shallow, and he stared at the ball of light in the center.
“This… this is her personal space?” he muttered. “It feels like a prison.”
Just then, Su Jiyai’s voice broke through their thoughts,
“You are a spy of the institute, right? So you must know about HQ, right? Oh! Wait! You should have a chip in your back that will prevent you from betraying the institute, right?”
The more Su Jiyai spoke, the more pale Jax, Caden, Vira, and Nova became.
They couldn’t believe that someone other than the institute’s people knew about all of these things.
“How…how do you know such things?” Jax asked in a trembling voice.
“Hm? Oh! That you don’t know. Originally I wanted to investigate you all right away, but now…”
“What… what are you going to do?” Nova asked, his voice shaky.
Su Jiyai’s voice was calm, almost too calm.
“Well, the chips implanted in your neck are designed to keep you loyal to the institute, right? If you even think of betraying them, the chip will activate and… well, we know how that ends.”
She paused for a moment, then continued with a slight chuckle.
“But don’t worry. I have a solution.”
The ball of light in the center of the room pulsed brighter, casting a soft glow over their terrified faces. Su Jiyai’s voice became more serious.
“I’m going to remove those chips, but it won’t be easy. I’ll have to shut down your nervous systems for a few minutes so the chips can be disabled without causing any… damage.”
Jax’s eyes widened in shock.
“Shut down our nervous systems? Are you insane? We could die!”
Su Jiyai’s voice remained steady.
“You won’t die. Not if I do it right. And trust me, I know what I’m doing. But it’s either that or the chips will keep you under the institute’s control forever.”
“We don’t want to!” All four of them protested.
“But who asked for your opinion?” Boss Su chuckled. Her laughter sounded particularly dreadful to all of them.
After all, who doesn’t fear death?
Su Jiyai’s voice softened. “Good. Now, just relax. This won’t hurt… much.”
The ball of light pulsed once more, and suddenly, the invisible force holding them downshifted. Their bodies felt heavy as if they were sinking into the floor.
