Chapter 298: Chapter 298: Cloud Sky Sect
The ground beneath their feet was a soft, glowing grass, and towering trees with silver leaves surrounded them.
The air was filled with a sweet, floral scent, and faint sounds of distant creatures echoed through the forest.
“We made it…” Jake muttered, looking around in amazement. “Where… where are we?”
Just as Jake finished speaking, they heard soft footsteps coming from the trees.
Turning their heads, they spotted a group of people walking toward them.
These people wore strange robes that shimmered in the light.
The robes were long and elegant, flowing with each step.
They were a mix of deep green and gold and symbols that looked like glowing runes were stitched onto the fabric.
The people looked calm, their faces serious, and their eyes sharp, as if they were always watching for danger.
There were four of them, two men and two women.
They seemed to be talking softly among themselves, but when they noticed Su Jiyai, Jake, and Xi Ping, they stopped in their tracks, their expressions turning cautious.
Jake quickly glanced at Su Jiyai and Xi Ping, whispering,
“Who are these guys? They don’t look like normal people…”
“I don’t know,” Xi Ping replied, her voice low. “But they don’t seem to be hostile… yet.”
Su Jiyai, still in her blue wolf cub form, stood close to Jake’s leg, her eyes scanning the strangers.
The tall man with the long black hair stepped closer to Su Jiyai, Jake, and Xi Ping.
His sharp eyes darted between them as if trying to figure out who they were and why they had appeared in this strange place.
He folded his arms across his chest and spoke in a deep, calm voice.
“Are you from the Cloud Sky Sect?” he asked, his tone a little demanding, but not unfriendly.
Jake blinked, looking confused. He glanced at Xi Ping and whispered, “Cloud Sky Sect? What’s that?”
Xi Ping shook her head slightly. “I’ve never heard of it either.”
Su Jiyai, still in her wolf cub form, tilted her head, studying the man closely.
She could sense that he wasn’t dangerous at the moment, but there was definitely some kind of power behind him.
She stepped forward, still by Jake’s leg, and let out a soft “woof” to catch the man’s attention.
The man’s eyes flickered to Su Jiyai, and for a moment, surprise flashed across his face.
He hadn’t expected to see a blue wolf cub with these strangers.
One of the women in the group, who had been standing behind the man, stepped forward as well.
She was shorter than him, with long silver hair that seemed to glow in the strange light of this world. She looked at Su Jiyai and smiled gently.
“A spirit beast?” she asked softly, her voice almost like a whisper carried on the wind.

“How unusual. But… you don’t seem to be an ordinary beast, do you?”
Jake tensed up, feeling a little protective over Su Jiyai, even though he knew she could handle herself.
He wasn’t sure what these people wanted or why they were asking about sects and spirit beasts.
But he knew one thing for sure: they were definitely not in a safer place.
“We’re not from any sect,” Jake finally answered, trying to sound calm and confident.
“We, uh… we’re just passing through.”
The man raised an eyebrow.
“Passing through? You expect me to believe that?” He looked back at the others in his group and then turned his attention back to Jake.
“This is not a place one simply ‘passes through.’ How did you come here? And why?”
Xi Ping stepped forward, trying to help out.
“Look, we don’t mean any harm. We came through a portal, okay? We’re just looking for some…herbs. That’s all. We’ll be out of your hair as soon as we find what we need.”
The man sighed and rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
“This is most unusual… You say you came through a portal. That is not something ordinary people can do. Who sent you here? Was it the Azure Moon Sect?”
Xi Ping and Jake exchanged glances.
None of them had any idea who these sects were or what they meant.
But they knew they had to play it smart if they wanted to get what they needed.
“We’re not from any sect,” Xi Ping repeated. “We came here by accident, but we’ll leave as soon as we find the herbs we need.”
The man’s expression softened slightly, but he still looked suspicious.
“Herbs, you say? What kind of herbs?”
Su Jiyai instantly told Jake a list of herbs and Jake repeated them,
“Moonlight Stone Flower, Star Drop Flower, Flame Rock Flower, Knight Flower, and Five Colored Petal.”
The man looked at the others in his group, and they exchanged glances, whispering quietly to each other.
The silver-haired woman nodded slightly as if confirming something.
“I see…” the man said slowly, his eyes narrowing.
“Those are rare herbs, not something just anyone would be looking for.”
“Yeah, we, uh, need them for a friend,” Jake explained. “He’s… really sick, and we’re just trying to help him. We didn’t mean to barge in here or anything.”
The man sighed, clearly still not fully convinced.
“Your story is strange, but perhaps not impossible. However, I cannot let outsiders wander freely in this place.
You must understand, that the lands of the Blue Sky Sect are sacred, and we don’t usually allow strangers here.”
Xi Ping shifted uneasily, glancing at Jake. “So what now? You’re not going to, like, kick us out or something, right?”
The man raised an eyebrow, and the silver-haired woman behind him chuckled softly.
“No, we won’t ‘kick you out,'” she said gently. “But you’ll need to prove that you’re not here to cause trouble.”
Su Jiyai barked softly, catching their attention.
Her eyes gleamed, and she stepped forward, nudging Jake’s leg. Jake quickly understood her signal.
“Uh, Su— I mean, the wolf here, she can help us. She’s… kind of our guide.”
The tall man studied Su Jiyai for a moment, his eyes thoughtful.
“A spirit beast as a guide… very rare indeed.”
