Chapter 299: Chapter 299: Training Field
He turned to one of the men in the group, who had been silent the entire time.
“Go and inform the elders. Tell them we have visitors who claim to have come through a portal. We will take them to the outer grounds for now.”
The man nodded and hurried off into the forest, his figure disappearing into the shadows.
Xi Ping glanced at Jake nervously. “Outer grounds? That sounds… kinda serious.”
“Yeah, no kidding,” Jake muttered, crossing his arms. “But I guess it’s better than being thrown out.”
The silver-haired woman stepped closer to them, her expression softening.
“Don’t worry. As long as you don’t mean any harm, no one here will hurt you. But you must follow the rules of the sect.”
Su Jiyai let out another bark, and the woman’s smile widened.
“You really are special, aren’t you?” she said, looking at the wolf cub. “I’ve never seen a spirit beast like you before.”
Xi Ping grinned nervously, scratching the back of her head. “Yeah, she’s… one of a kind.”
The tall man gestured for them to follow.
“Come, we will take you to the outer grounds. The elders will decide what happens next.”
Jake, Xi Ping, and Su Jiyai exchanged glances before following the group through the forest.
The trees towered above them, their silver leaves shimmering in the strange light.
The air was cool, and the distant sounds of birds and other creatures filled the air.
As they walked, Jake couldn’t help but feel a little overwhelmed.
This place was like nothing he had ever seen before.
The grass glowed beneath their feet, and the sky above was still that deep purple with streaks of gold.
“Does such type of world even exist?” Xi Ping asked in a small voice.
She had only seen the gloomy sky and extreme heat in her entire life.
Now the different kind of beauty of this strange world captivated her.
Jake nodded too, but his mind had already wandered off to some other place.
Su Jiyai on the other hand focused on the system prompt she had received just now.
[Ding! A special mission has been received: Get the scroll hidden in the training ground of Immortal World.]
What?
Su Jiyai was stunned by two pieces of important news.
They were in an immortal world? What kind of world is that even?
And scroll? Does that mean she has found the 2nd piece of curing the zombie virus?
Suppressing her excitement she turned toward Jake and barked at him explaining her question to him and nudging him to ask it.

Jake was baffled by Su Jiyai’s question but still asked,
“Um…what if we want to enter the training ground of the Blue Sky sect ?”
The tall man stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Jake, raising an eyebrow.
“The training ground of the Blue Sky Sect?” he repeated slowly as if testing the words in his mouth.
The rest of the group exchanged glances, clearly surprised by the question.
Jake scratched his head nervously.
“Uh, yeah… I mean, is that a problem?”
The man frowned slightly, his sharp eyes scanning Jake, Xi Ping, and Su Jiyai, who was still in her wolf cub form.
“That is not a place for outsiders,” he said sternly.
“Only disciples of the sect are allowed there. Why would you want to go to such a dangerous place?”
Xi Ping blinked, looking a little confused. “Dangerous? What’s so dangerous about it?”
The silver-haired woman chuckled softly, her eyes twinkling.
“The training ground is where our disciples face trials and challenges to improve their cultivation. It’s not a place for the untrained or unprepared.”
Su Jiyai barked again, nudging Jake. He sighed, feeling like he had no choice but to follow her lead.
“What are the criteria for becoming disciples?”
The silver-haired woman looked at Jake for few seconds before shaking her head,
“Though you look handsome, your foundation for cultivation is very weak…”
Before Jake can retort, the silver-haired woman gave a sly smirked and continued,
“However if your name is cleared and you are not our sect’s enemy, I can consider keeping you as my boy toy.”
Jake: “…” No thanks.
He cast a resentful glance in Su Jiyai’s direction as if chiding her for putting him in such an awkward situation.
Su Jiyai however was undeterred, she barked at him again. This time Jake paused and almost wanted to spank the heartless wolf cub.
It dared to ask him to question the silver-haired woman if becoming her boy toy could allow them into the training grounds.
Jake stared at Su Jiyai, completely flustered.
“Are you serious right now?” he whispered harshly at the wolf cub, who wagged her tail like this was just another casual request.
“I’m not that desperate to get into the training grounds,” he muttered under his breath, giving Su Jiyai a disapproving look.
“I’m not becoming anyone’s boy toy, thanks.”
The silver-haired woman understood the request was from the spirit beast and not Jake. Her eyes lit up and said,
“For a weak foundation human like you, you will need to reach the Qi Gathering Stage. However for spirit beast…”
She paused midway through her sentence and cast a glance in Su Jiyai’s direction,
“As long as a spirit beast has an Awakened talent, and forms a contract with one of the core disciples, they can enter the training fields.”
Soon they reached the outer ground.
[Ding! The scroll is within 10 km of your range.]
Su Jiyai fell into a deep thought.
Jake and Xi Ping couldn’t reach whatever that Qi gathering stage was and she wasn’t ready to form a contract with any of the core disciples.
It means, there was no straightforward way to enter the training ground.
Sigh. Looks like she will have to come up with a plan.
By this time, one of the elders in a blue robe, with a long white beard and stern expression had appeared.
He cast a quick glance at everyone.
But when he saw the blue cub excitement appeared in his eyes.
