Chapter 301: Chapter 301: Spirit Beast
The elder, holding Su Jiyai in his arms, floated gently to his private room. Once inside, he carefully placed her on a soft cushion.
Su Jiyai, still in her wolf form, tilted her head, wondering what the elder was up to.
He acted as though she had a serious injury, even though it was just a tiny scratch that had already healed.
With slow, deliberate movements, the elder took out bandages and some healing ointment.
He treated Su Jiyai’s leg like she was on the verge of collapse, gently wrapping the bandage around her paw.
Su Jiyai couldn’t help but feel a little awkward about the situation, but she let him continue, not wanting to arouse suspicion.
“There, all better now,” the elder said proudly, as if he had just saved her life. Su Jiyai blinked and wagged her tail politely.
After he finished bandaging her, the elder clapped his hands, summoning a few young sect disciples into the room.
They arrived quickly, each carrying trays with small plates of fruits.
The fruits were bright, almost glowing with vibrant colors—red, purple, green, and blue.
They carefully set the plates in front of Su Jiyai before bowing and leaving the room.
“These are Spirit Fruits,” the elder said, smiling at Su Jiyai.
“I’ve brought them just for you. They are filled with powerful energy, perfect for a noble spirit beast like yourself.”
Su Jiyai stared at the fruit plate, her blue eyes wide.
She wasn’t used to seeing fruits like these, and their strange colors made her curious.
What kind of fruit is this? she thought. Subconsciously, she asked her system in her mind.
“System, what are these fruits?”
The system responded in its usual mechanical voice.
[Spirit Fruits. They contain pure energy and can help you digest the remaining energy from the red crystal you absorbed. Eating them will make you stronger.]
Su Jiyai’s ears perked up.
Stronger? That sounds good… she thought, licking her lips.
Then another idea crossed her mind.
Wait, can these fruits help increase the cultivation of superhumans too? she asked in her heart.
The system replied.
[Yes, the fruit can boost superhuman cultivation. However, even if you tried to multiply it, by the time it reaches your world, it will have lost its power.]
Su Jiyai sighed internally, disappointed.
She had been excited about the idea of selling these fruits to others back at her base.
But since it wouldn’t work, she gave up on the idea for now.
The elder noticed Su Jiyai staring at the fruits with interest. He chuckled softly and explained,

“These fruits are very precious. It takes a long time to grow them, as they require a place rich with spiritual energy. Even though spirit trees have to be grown in dead soil too, it requires a lot of energy!”
Su Jiyai’s eyes widened at his words. Did he just say it can be grown in dead soil?
Her heart raced with excitement.
The biggest problem in her world was that all the soil was dead, preventing any plants from growing.
If the spirit fruit could grow in such conditions, then maybe she could grow spirit trees back home!
Without hesitating, Su Jiyai used her psychic powers to store the fruits in her storage ring.
She did it so quickly and smoothly that the elder didn’t even realize what had happened at first.
When he looked down and saw the empty plate where the fruits had been, his eyes widened in surprise.
“Where… where did the fruits go?” he asked, confused.
The elder’s surprise quickly turned into curiosity.
He stared at Su Jiyai, his mind racing. Did the spirit beast just use psychic powers? he wondered.
Psychic abilities were rare, even among spirit beasts.
If this wolf cub had such powers, then she was even more valuable than he initially thought.
The elder stroked his beard thoughtfully.
If his theory was correct, this wolf could be the key to something big.
I need to make sure this spirit beast forms a contract with one of our core disciples, he thought, already planning his next move.
Su Jiyai, of course, had no idea what the elder was thinking.
She was too busy feeling satisfied with herself for securing the fruits.
If she knew what the elder was plotting, she would’ve scoffed. After all, she didn’t have any legendary psychic powers—she had just put the fruits away in her storage ring, nothing more.
But for now, she kept quiet, letting the elder believe whatever he wanted.
The elder smiled at Su Jiyai, his earlier suspicion melting away.
“Spirit Beast do you want to have a tour of the sect?”
Su Jiyai nodded instantly. She was eager to see the training ground.
The elder, his heart now completely softened by Su Jiyai’s innocent appearance, decided to give her a grand tour of the entire sect.
He carried her in his arms as they floated across various parts of the massive complex.
“Here, little one, this is where our disciples learn alchemy,” the elder said as they passed by a large hall filled with cauldrons and strange herbs.
Su Jiyai gave a quick glance, but her main focus was finding the teleportation scroll.
As they continued, the elder proudly showed her the weaponry hall, the dining area, and even the meditation chambers where energy seemed to hum in the air.
Finally, they reached the training field. It was a huge open space, with disciples sparring and practicing their skills.
When Su Jiyai saw the field, her eyes lit up with excitement. She tapped the elder’s arm with her paw as if asking to be let down.
The elder’s heart melted even more.
He had always been strict about the rules—outsiders were never allowed on the training grounds—but seeing the wolf cub’s eager expression made him forget all of that.
“Well… I suppose one little exception wouldn’t hurt,” he muttered to himself, smiling as he gently lowered Su Jiyai onto the field.
“Go ahead, little one. Explore.”
Su Jiyai wasted no time.
She padded across the field, sniffing around and looking for any signs of the hidden scroll.
