Chapter 302: Chapter 302: Scroll -2
Meanwhile, in her head, she was quietly asking her system.
‘System, is the scroll in range yet?’
The system responded after a moment.
[Not yet host. Keep moving further east.]
Su Jiyai trotted ahead, keeping her senses sharp. As she moved closer to the far end of the training ground, the system suddenly pinged.
[Stop here.]
Su Jiyai halted immediately, staring at the ground beneath her. This was it.
The scroll was buried under the earth, right where she stood.
But now came the tricky part. How was she supposed to dig up the scroll without looking suspicious?
She stared down at the spot, thinking hard.
How do I do this without getting caught? she asked the system, her mind racing for ideas.
Before the system could reply, the elder, still watching her from a distance, suddenly spoke up.
“Ahh, I see now! You’re sensing something in the ground, aren’t you, little one?” the elder exclaimed, clapping his hands together as if he had just figured out a great mystery.
Su Jiyai blinked in surprise, unsure of what the elder meant.
The elder continued, smiling warmly.
“I knew it! Spirit beasts like you are very sensitive to energy. You must be sensing an old energy source buried here, yes?
There used to be a treasure hidden in these grounds long ago, but we never found it. I’ll help you dig it up!”
Su Jiyai’s eyes widened slightly.
Did he just create the perfect excuse for me? she thought, amazed at her luck.
Without waiting for any further signal, the elder waved his hand, and the ground beneath Su Jiyai began to rumble.
Using his cultivation powers, the elder effortlessly parted the earth, creating a small hole.
“There, let’s see what’s hiding beneath,” the elder said, his voice filled with excitement.
Su Jiyai stared at the growing hole, her heart pounding in her chest. As the elder dug deeper, a faint glow began to appear from the soil.
It was the scroll!
Su Jiyai wagged her tail in excitement, but she kept her cool, trying not to seem too eager.
The elder reached into the hole and carefully pulled out an old, dusty scroll wrapped in a golden thread.
“Well, well, what do we have here?” the elder murmured, brushing the dust off the scroll. He studied it closely, frowning slightly. “What is this?”
To the elder, a very strange language was written in the scroll.
The group of disciples had been watching Su Jiyai from the beginning, their eyes filled with amusement.

To them, she was just a spirit beast—a cute, fuzzy animal with no real power.
They started whispering to each other, and soon enough, they were laughing quietly.
“Look at her! What’s she gonna do? Sniff out treasure like a puppy?” one of them mocked.
“Maybe she’ll wag her tail and the treasure will just appear!” another laughed.
Their words grew louder, and it was clear they were making fun of her. Su Jiyai heard them and ignored them.
They were just a bunch of brats.
But before she could react, the elder suddenly turned around, his face serious.
“How dare you mock a spirit beast?!” he scolded, his voice booming across the training ground.
The laughter from the disciples stopped immediately, and their faces paled.
“This spirit beast has more sense than all of you combined!” the elder continued, glaring at them. “You will all reflect on your behavior and be punished accordingly!”
The disciples lowered their heads in shame, not daring to speak another word.
The elder then turned back to Su Jiyai, his expression softening.
“There, there,” he said gently, stroking her head.
“It’s alright. Don’t feel bad if we didn’t find anything valuable this time. Sometimes the greatest treasures are hidden deep, and they don’t always appear on the first try.”
Su Jiyai wagged her tail a little, trying to act normal.
She wanted to tell the elder that it doesn’t matter, she didn’t want to find the treasure in the first place.
But just then, something caught her eye.
Deep in the cracks where the elder had been digging, she saw something shiny—something that looked like boxes and maybe some hidden treasures.
She hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should point it out.
But her curiosity got the best of her. Su Jiyai gently tugged on the elder’s robe with her teeth and then pointed her paw toward the crack.
The elder, noticing her gesture, looked in the direction she was pointing.
“Hm? What is it, little one?” he asked, bending down for a closer look.
His eyes widened in surprise when he saw what she was pointing at.
Sure enough, there were small boxes and something shiny glinting in the light, tucked deep into the crack.
Without wasting a second, the elder threw the scroll he had been studying to the side and hurriedly began opening the boxes one by one.
As each box clicked open, the elder’s eyes grew even wider.
Inside were gleaming treasures—rare stones, cultivation techniques, and other valuable items that even he hadn’t expected to find.
“Incredible!” the elder gasped.
“You’ve brought me such great luck, little one! These treasures are beyond anything I could’ve hoped for!”
Su Jiyai blinked, acting as though she wasn’t too interested in the shiny objects.
But secretly, while the elder was distracted, she used her quick psychic ability to slip the scroll into her storage ring, all while keeping a calm, aloof expression.
The elder, still marveling at the treasures, turned to Su Jiyai with a proud smile.
“You truly are a special spirit beast,” he said, his voice filled with admiration.
“These treasures wouldn’t have been found without you.”
Meanwhile, the disciples who had been mocking Su Jiyai earlier stood frozen, their jaws practically hitting the ground.
They couldn’t believe their eyes.
Not only had Su Jiyai found something valuable, but it was a whole pile of rare treasures!
One of them muttered under his breath,
“She… she actually found something…”
Another nodded, his face pale.
“We were wrong… she’s not just any spirit beast.”
Their attitudes had completely changed from mocking to awe.
