Chapter 304: Chapter 304: Creepy Uncle
His face lit up with excitement, and his eyes sparkled.
“Oh, little one, have you chosen me?” the elder asked, his voice trembling slightly. “You have sensed my sincerity, haven’t you?”
Su Jiyai blinked up at him, not quite sure what he was thinking. She was just trying to escape the crowd! But now, the elder seemed to believe that she had chosen him as her contract partner.
“Spirit beast, this is an honor!” the elder said loudly as if announcing it to the whole world. He held Su Jiyai a little closer, his eyes misty with pride.
The disciples around them gasped. Some of them looked devastated, like their hearts had just been broken into tiny pieces.
“She… she chose the elder!” one disciple whispered, eyes wide with disbelief.
“Of course! The elder is wise and powerful. It’s only right that a genius spirit beast like her would choose him!” another disciple said, nodding like it all made sense now.
Su Jiyai, still nestled in the elder’s arms, sighed inwardly. What had she gotten herself into? All she wanted was to leave quietly, but now they thought she wanted to make a contract with the elder!
She wagged her tail a little, trying to look cute, though inside she was really just planning her escape.
The elder, completely unaware of her thoughts, held her up like a proud parent showing off their child.
“You are truly wise beyond words, little one. Together, we will accomplish great things!”
Su Jiyai blinked again. Great things? She wasn’t planning to do anything with him! She just wanted to find the herbs and leave the world.
So without hesitation, Su Jiyai acted as if she had fainted.
“Oh my god, what has happened?”
“The spirit beast fainted…maybe it was feeling tired and hence leaped into the elder’s arms to rest…”
“So you mean to say…the elder misunderstood the spirit beast?”
“Yeah. Our elder is delusional…you know.” One of the sect disciples commented.
The elder: “…”
He turned and glared at the last disciple, before shifting his attention to the spirit beast.
The elder stared down at Su Jiyai, who was pretending to be passed out in his arms. His face twitched slightly, but he quickly masked his embarrassment with a fake smile.
“Uh… the spirit beast must be exhausted from all the excitement,” the elder said, trying to sound confident. “She’s probably just resting after sensing so much treasure.”
The disciples exchanged glances, some of them stifling giggles.
“Yeah, sure… resting,” one of them whispered, rolling their eyes.
“Totally didn’t faint because she didn’t want to be here,” another muttered under their breath.
The elder shot them a sharp look, clearly annoyed by their whispers, but he quickly returned his attention to Su Jiyai.
“Let’s not disturb her,” the elder said, trying to keep his dignity intact. “We’ll take her back to the sect and let her recover in peace.”
He began walking back toward the sect, carrying Su Jiyai like she was some sort of precious relic. Meanwhile, Su Jiyai was doing her best to stay still and not laugh.
These people were really going overboard with all this spirit beast nonsense.
As the elder carried her away, the disciples followed behind, whispering among themselves.

“I told you the elder misunderstood. He really thought she picked him!” one disciple snickered.
“Yeah, he’s acting like he won the lottery or something,” another laughed quietly.
“He’s just lucky the spirit beast didn’t roast him with her fire element,” someone else added, their tone teasing.
The elder’s ears twitched at their comments, but he kept his head held high, refusing to let them ruin his moment.
Finally, they arrived back at the sect. The elder carefully placed Su Jiyai down on a soft mat in one of the quieter rooms, as if she were a fragile treasure.
“There, little one, you rest now,” the elder said softly, his voice full of affection. “We’ll talk more when you’re feeling better.”
Su Jiyai cracked open one eye just slightly, making sure the elder had left the room.
When she saw that he was gone, she jumped up and stretched, feeling relieved to finally be alone.
………………
In a small storage room.
Xi Ping was lying on the bed feeling a bit hot.
She turned to look at Jake who was cool as a cucumber and asked,
“Don’t you feel…the area is too hot?”
Jake didn’t even glance in her direction and said calmly,
“Your way of flirting is very casual.”
Xi Ping: “…” No…I am not flirting with you.
She was so angry that she almost laughed. Gritting her teeth, she came up with an idea.
“Uncle you are too full of yourself.”
Usually Jake wouldn’t taken such a comment to his heart. But his age was his weakness.
His aura turned cold and he turned to look at Xi Ping with a cold expression.
“What did you call me?”
Jake’s expression darkened, and the air around them seemed to drop a few degrees.
He glared at Xi Ping, clearly not amused by the “uncle” comment.
“Uncle, huh?” Jake’s voice was low, almost dangerous. “You think I’m old?”
Xi Ping, seeing how much it bothered him, smirked a little.
“Well, you’re not exactly a spring chicken, are you?” she teased, wiggling her eyebrows.
Jake’s jaw clenched, and for a moment, Xi Ping thought he might actually snap.
But instead, he took a deep breath and forced himself to stay calm. He leaned in a little closer, his face just inches from hers.
“If I’m an uncle, what does that make you? My little niece?” he said, his voice cold, but there was a hint of mischief in his eyes.
Xi Ping’s smirk faltered. Wait…what?
Without hesitation, Xi Ping lifted her hand and slapped away Jake’s face.
Slap.
The atmosphere turned cold.
Silence.
Jake’s eyes flashed and he lifted his head,
“What the f*ck did you just do?”
Xi Ping was stunned before coming to her senses. Instead of backing down though, she stared straight into his eyes and said word by word,
“Slapped you. Creepy Uncle.”
