Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Fifth Superpower
Jake’s expression turned icy, his dark eyes narrowing as if he couldn’t believe what had just happened. For a moment, the room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
“You slapped me?” he repeated, his voice dangerously low.
Xi Ping didn’t flinch. She crossed her arms and nodded, standing her ground.
“Yeah, I did. What are you gonna do about it, uncle?” she shot back, her tone defiant.
Jake’s jaw tightened, and for a split second, Xi Ping thought she might have pushed him too far.
But then, he laughed—a cold, humorless sound that sent a shiver down her spine.
“Wrong decision,” Jake said and suddenly extended his hand. To Xi Ping’s horror, his fingers wrapped around her neck.
Xi Ping’s heart raced as Jake’s grip tightened around her neck. She gasped, trying to suck in air, but it was like her throat was closing up. Her hands clawed at his arm, desperate to break free, but he was too strong.
“I warned you,” Jake growled, his voice cold as ice. “Now, you’ll learn not to mess with me.”
Xi Ping’s vision started to blur.
She could feel herself growing weaker with each passing second.
Panic set in as she realized she couldn’t breathe, couldn’t fight back.
Her superpowers, usually her way out of any situation, were failing her now.
In a last-ditch effort, Xi Ping tried to teleport again, however, due to a lack of energy, she could only move a few meters of distance before stopping.
Her expression turned ugly.
Jake watched her struggle, his expression unreadable.
“You thought you could fight me? How pathetic.”
Xi Ping’s body started to go limp, her hands falling away from his arm.
The room spun around her, and for a moment, she thought this might be the end.
But then, out of nowhere, Jake loosened his grip.
He didn’t let go completely, but he eased up just enough for Xi Ping to suck in a desperate breath.
Then he threw her towards one of the corners. The impact was so strong that the spider-like cracks appeared on the wall.
Xi Ping slid down the wall and coughed up blood. It took her a while to recover.
She glared at Jake with resentment in her eyes and said,
“You…just wait…”
Before she could complete her words, Jake walked up to her and used his healing abilities to heal Xi Ping.
Other than the blood on the ground and cracks on the ground, no one could have guessed that Xi Ping was injured.
“You…”
“Don’t get your hopes high. I just don’t want the assistant to know that I harmed you.” Jake smirked, “And if you are a strong woman, you will keep the complaint to yourself.”

Xi Ping gritted her teeth before deciding to ignore him.
She will deal with him.
Suddenly the world around her turned blurry and she lifted her hand to call out to Jake, but before she could utter even a word, she fainted.
A blue glow enveloped her.
Jake scoffed as he looked at Xi Ping’s unconscious body.
“Typical,” he muttered under his breath, rolling his eyes. “Always fainting when things get tough.”
He watched as the blue glow around her body shimmered, but he didn’t seem too concerned.
In fact, he seemed more annoyed than anything.
Walking over, he gave her a light nudge with his boot.
“You better wake up before the assistant comes back. I’m not covering for you forever.”
Xi Ping didn’t move. She was completely out cold, her breathing shallow but steady.
The blue glow flickered again, this time brighter, and Jake’s eyes narrowed.
“What’s this…?” he muttered, crouching down next to her.
He reached out a hand as if to touch the glow, but the moment his fingers got too close, the light flared, and he yanked his hand back.
“Great. Just great,” Jake muttered, standing back up.
“Now she’s pulling some kind of magic trick on me.”
He glanced toward the door as if expecting someone to walk in, but no one did.
The room was still eerily quiet, save for the soft hum of whatever was happening to Xi Ping.
“Fine,” Jake huffed. “Guess I’ll just have to wait this out.”
He leaned against the wall, crossing his arms as he watched the blue glow swirl around Xi Ping. His expression was a mix of irritation and boredom, though there was a flicker of curiosity in his eyes.
After a few minutes, the glow started to fade, and Xi Ping’s body twitched slightly. She groaned, slowly coming back to consciousness.
Jake raised an eyebrow, watching as she blinked her eyes open. “Finally awake?” he asked, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Xi Ping winced, sitting up slowly. Her head was pounding, and she felt like she’d been hit by a truck. She glanced around, confused before her eyes landed on Jake.
“What… happened?” she asked, her voice weak.
Jake smirked. “You fainted, again. No surprise there.”
Xi Ping scowled, trying to push herself to her feet.
But her legs felt wobbly, and she almost fell back down. Jake didn’t move to help her—he just stood there, watching.
Xi Ping blinked. Huh?
The ground around her was slowly going further and further away.
Xi Ping blinked again, her vision clearing as she realized something strange was happening. The ground… it was getting farther away. Wait, she was floating!
Her eyes widened in shock. Was this her… fifth superpower? Flight?
She hovered a few feet off the ground, wobbling a bit as she tried to get used to this new ability.
Jake, who had been watching her with a smug look, now had his jaw slightly dropped.
“You can fly now?” he asked, sounding both surprised and annoyed.
“Did you just awaken a new power?”
Xi Ping didn’t answer him.
She wasn’t in the mood to give Jake the satisfaction of knowing anything.
Her eyes darted around the room until they landed on something in the corner—a big bag of fertilizer.
A mischievous grin spread across her face.
