Chapter 306: Chapter 306: Match Made In Heaven
Without warning, Xi Ping zipped through the air, heading straight for the bag.
She grabbed it with ease, her body now much lighter thanks to her new power.
Jake’s eyes narrowed as he watched her suspiciously.
“What are you doing?” he demanded, but Xi Ping just smiled sweetly, hovering right above him.
Before Jake could react, Xi Ping flipped the bag upside down, dumping the entire contents of fertilizer right on top of him.
“Take that!” she shouted, her voice full of satisfaction as the dusty brown fertilizer rained down on Jake’s head.
Jake spluttered in rage, waving his hands in the air as he tried to clear the dust from his face.
His black hair was now covered in brown dirt, and he looked absolutely furious.
“Xi Ping!” he roared, leaping up, trying to grab her, but she easily floated out of reach, giggling like a kid who just pulled the best prank ever.
“What’s wrong, uncle?” Xi Ping mocked from above, still hovering.
“You said I was weak, right? Not so weak now, huh?”
Jake jumped again, trying to catch her, but Xi Ping was faster, darting around the room in the air like a bird.
Every time he got close, she zipped away, laughing even louder.
Jake’s face turned red with fury. “Come down here right now!”
But Xi Ping just stuck her tongue out at him. “Catch me if you can!”
After 10 seconds, Jake turned silent, before calmly sitting on the side. Xi Ping was confused.
With a calm expression on his face, Jake smirked and said,
“Let’s see how long you can stay in the air.”
Xi Ping froze in midair, her laughter suddenly cut short.
Uh-oh. Jake’s smirk made her nervous. He was way too calm now, which was never a good sign.
“What do you mean by that?” she asked, trying to sound confident, but her voice wavered just a bit.
Jake leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Well, you just awakened your new power, right? I’m guessing you don’t have full control yet.”
He raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying himself.
“So how long do you think you can keep flying? Minutes? Seconds?”
Xi Ping felt a bead of sweat trickle down her forehead.
She hadn’t thought of that.
Could she really stay in the air for much longer?
Already, her muscles were starting to feel a bit tired. Her breathing was getting heavier too.

“You look tired already, Ping,” Jake said, his voice smooth and teasing.
“Why don’t you come down and we’ll talk? Or, you know, fall down when you can’t keep it up anymore.”
Xi Ping gritted her teeth.
There was no way she was going to let Jake win like that! She forced herself to hover higher, trying to ignore the strain on her arms and legs.
“I can stay up here as long as I want!” she shot back, though the tremble in her voice gave her away.
Jake just chuckled. “Sure you can.”
Seconds ticked by, and Xi Ping could feel her strength fading fast.
Her flight wasn’t as smooth anymore—she wobbled in the air, struggling to keep herself from falling.
Her arms were shaking, and her legs felt like jelly.
Jake watched her struggle, looking completely relaxed.
“You should’ve come down when you had the chance.”
“No way!” Xi Ping shouted, but even she didn’t believe it.
Her energy was almost gone. Her body was sinking lower and lower no matter how hard she tried to stay afloat.
Finally, her strength gave out completely, and she dropped to the ground with a thud, landing on her feet but stumbling forward.
Jake was already on his feet, smirking as he walked over to her.
“Well, that was fun to watch,” he said and slowly walked up to her. “Guess you will have to face your karma now.”
Xi Ping tried to use teleportation, but Jake caught her wrist and stared straight into her eyes.
He used his skill, influence and said in a hypnotic voice,
“Now be quiet like a quail. You will go toward the other fertilizer bag and pour it on yourself.”
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
Xi Ping was silent before asking, “Are you dumb?”
Jake: “…”
“Why would I even do that? Why would I even listen to your words?” Xi Ping questioned.
Jake stood there, dumbfounded.
His eyes widened as he processed what just happened.
“Wait… why didn’t it work?” he muttered under his breath, clearly confused. He looked at his hands like they’d betrayed him.
“My influence skill never fails!”
Xi Ping raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed.
“Maybe it’s because you’re using it on someone who’s not an idiot.”
She crossed her arms, smirking at Jake, who was still trying to figure out why his power didn’t work on her.
Jake blinked, then scowled.
Maybe because Xi Ping has awakened 5th superpower, his skills are not working on her.
Just then the door of the room was opened and a disciple in a blue robe walked in,
“This is your dinner…”
The disciple paused as he stared at Xi Ping who was standing close to Jake and Jake who had held Xi Ping’s hands.
Both of them were looking at the disciple with a surprised expression.
The disciple was silent before he placed the two plates and turned and left.
Xi Ping and Jake then heard his excited voice,
“Hey, the two strangers caught, might be in love with each other! How can I be sure? I saw the young man holding the young woman’s hand! They truly looked like a match made in heaven.”
Xi Ping and Jake froze, staring at the door long after the disciple had left.
The awkward silence between them stretched for what felt like forever.
“Did he just say—” Xi Ping started, but Jake quickly let go of her hand and took a step back, his face turning a shade of red that matched a ripe tomato.
“He’s an idiot,” Jake muttered, wiping his hand on his pants as if he’d just touched something gross.
“No way we’re—” He didn’t even finish the sentence, clearly too flustered.
