Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Location
At night.
While Su Jiyai was resting in the room she heard about the rumors and was surprised.
Xi Ping and Jake?
Impossible!
One of them was a 19-year-old woman while the other one was a vampire who god knows how long had lived.
Yet she felt the need to confirm it herself. Holding back the gossiping spirit inside her, Su Jiyai asked the system.
“Have you located all the herbs and marked their location?”
[Yes host.]
“Good, now I want you to print their appearance and if possible photos, along with their locations.”
[Sure host.]
During this time, Su Jiyai didn’t stay idle. She asked the system to mark the location of the herbs so that they could all gather herbs by tonight and leave by tomorrow morning.
But first, she needed to figure out what was going on between Xi Ping and Jake.
There was no way those two were together, right?
“I’m just gonna check on them,” she muttered to herself, standing up from the bed. “Just to be sure.”
“System teleport me to where they are.”
[Sure host]
Whoosh.
The next second, Su Jiyai arrived at the scene, only to find Jake and Xi Ping covered with dirt and glaring in each other’s direction.
They were together? Heck no!
Just from their expression, everything was clear.
Su Jiyai made a ‘woof’ noise to attract their attention. When Xi Ping and Jake saw Su Jiyai they were stunned, before hurriedly walking up to her.
“Where are we? And who are these people?” Xi Ping asked curiously.
“No, the main question is when are we leaving? This place can’t be lived on!” Jake muttered.
“Oh right! Miss assistant can we steal some of the cultivation manuals from them? I heard that those manuals awaken some kind of power and become immortal!” Xi Ping said in an excited voice.
She remembered that her brother didn’t awaken any superpower.
If she can get her hands on the manual then…
Jake glanced at Xi Ping in disdain,
“Manuals? Do you think we can understand the power system of the world just by some scrape of paper?
We need to spend some time learning cultivation techniques and the worst thing would be encountering some difficulties.”

“So should we leave such a useful opportunity?” Xi Ping asked with a frustrated expression.
Jake shook his head, looking unimpressed.
“You think a piece of paper is gonna make us immortal? Do you even hear yourself? This isn’t some fairy tale, Xi Ping.”
Xi Ping coldly rolled her eyes,
“You say that now, but look at this world! People here live for hundreds of years and have abilities that make ours look like child’s play. I’m telling you, we’re missing out.”
Su Jiyai let out another ‘woof,’ this time sounding like she was sighing. Jake glanced at her again and said,
“She agrees with me. We don’t have time to waste on chasing after immortality nonsense. We need to get those herbs and get out of here before anyone notices.”
Xi Ping pouted, clearly disappointed.
“Fine, but I’m not giving up on the manuals. I’ll just keep an eye out, alright?”
Jake rolled his eyes but didn’t argue further.
“Sure, sure. Just don’t get us killed.”
Su Jiyai made a final ‘woof,’ her tail swishing behind her as she padded around the area, her sharp nose sniffing for anything out of place.
She nudged Jake’s leg gently, reminding him of their real task.
“Right, right,” Jake muttered, focusing back on the plan. “We need to gather those herbs tonight since our reality might be exposed by tonight.”
Xi Ping sighed,
“Yeah, yeah. Herbs first, then immortality.”
Jake just gave her a tired look.
“Let’s hope your priorities change before we get in over our heads.”
Xi Ping ignored him and asked Su Jiyai in a serious tone,
“Assistant, can you tell us how those herbs look and where we can find them?”
Su Jiyai handed the two papers to Xi Ping, who quickly took them and started looking through them.
Her eyes scanned the pictures of the herbs, and she frowned.
“These don’t look like anything I’ve seen before,” Xi Ping muttered, squinting at the strange shapes and colors.
“Are you sure these are the right ones?”
Jake peeked over her shoulder and shrugged.
“They look pretty weird, but this world is different. Nothing looks the same here.”
Su Jiyai barked softly to get their attention again.
Jake glanced down at her and translated,
“She says these herbs are the only ones we need. The locations have already been marked. And what herbs you have to find is written on your paper.”
Xi Ping nodded and teleported.
Su Jiyai was about to teleport when Jake held and raised an eyebrow,
“Don’t you think you owe me an explanation?”
Su Jiyai shook her face with a serious expression: No.
Jake: “…” Ungrateful.
Without waiting for Jake’s scolding, Su Jiyai teleported.
Su Jiyai was tasked to find the Moonlight Stone Flower and Star Drop Flower.
Jake was tasked to find Flame Rock Flower and Knight Flower.
While Xi Ping was tasked to find Five Colored Petals.
The location of Five Colored Petals was very far, hence Xi Ping was allotted only one herb.
Jake’s flowers were far too, but they can be found as long as he speeds up.
As for Su Jiyai, her flowers were relatively easy to find, but they mostly were found on the mountain behind the sect.
She landed softly on the mountain behind the sect, her boots making no sound as she touched the ground.
The air was cool and the moon was high, casting a silvery glow over everything.
She glanced at her system display, which showed her the general location of the Moonlight Stone Flower and Star Drop Flower.
The system marked both as being nearby, but the terrain was rugged and full of tall trees that made visibility difficult.
“I hope this doesn’t take too long,” Su Jiyai muttered to herself, scanning the area.
Her instincts told her that she wasn’t alone.
