Chapter 309: Chapter 309: Cloud Sky Sect
By the time they all regrouped, Xi Ping and Jake were carrying their own treasures, along with their herbs. Xi Ping had a smug grin on her face, while Jake looked as calm and cool as ever.
“Find everything?” Su Jiyai asked, her wolf ears twitching.
Jake translated her words and repeated her words to Xi Ping.
“Yep,” Xi Ping said, holding up her pocket with the Five Colored Petals. “Plus, I found this weird key.”
Jake pulled out the carved box he’d found. “I got this too. No idea what’s inside.”
Su Jiyai paused, surprised to see the box which matched with what she had found earlier. She was confused.
In the dark corners of the forest, not far from where Jake, Xi Ping, and Su Jiyai had just finished gathering their treasures, a group of disciples from the Cloud Sky Sect were busy with their own mission.
Their leader, a tall man with sharp eyes and a scar running down his face, was pacing back and forth, clearly frustrated.
“We need those boxes and the key,” he hissed under his breath, glaring at the others.
“Without them, we can’t carry out our plan. If we don’t find them soon, the Blue Sky Sect will never fall.”
A smaller disciple, one with a nervous look, shifted uncomfortably and spoke up.
“But… what if the elders of the Blue Sky Sect already know about our plan? What if they’ve hidden the boxes and key somewhere?”
The tall man scowled and clenched his fists.
“Impossible! There’s no way they could know—unless there’s a traitor among us.”
The others exchanged nervous glances.
It was clear that the plan to destroy the Blue Sky Sect by setting it on fire wasn’t going as smoothly as they had hoped.
Without the ancient boxes and the mysterious key, their grand scheme was falling apart.
Meanwhile, hidden behind a large tree, a silver-haired woman from the Blue Sky Sect was silently watching the scene unfold.
Her heart was pounding in her chest as she pieced everything together.
Just moments ago, she had seen Su Jiyai—the spirit beast that they had previously caught—picking up strange boxes.
At first, she had assumed the worst.
The spirit beast must have been a spy sent to destroy them! And when she heard her juniors talking about Jake and Xi Ping also picking up similar boxes and a key, her suspicions deepened.
“I was right! They’re all spies!” she had thought at first, gripping the hilt of her sword tightly.
But just as she was about to follow Jake, Xi Ping, and Su Jiyai, she heard footsteps behind her.
Quickly, she ducked behind a tree, hiding herself from sight.
To her shock, it was a group of disciples from the Cloud Sky Sect—the very sect they were trying to defend against!
As she listened to their conversation, her heart sank.
These disciples weren’t just wandering around; they were looking for the very same boxes and keys that Jake, Xi Ping, and Su Jiyai had found.
And their plan? To burn the Blue Sky Sect to the ground! The silver-haired woman’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“So… they aren’t spies after all?” she whispered to herself, realization hitting her like a ton of bricks.

All this time, she had thought Jake, Xi Ping, and Su Jiyai were the enemy.
But now, it was clear they had been protecting the sect from the real threat—the Cloud Sky Sect!
Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized how wrong she had been.
Those three weren’t working against the Blue Sky Sect; they were saving it!
Steeling her resolve, the silver-haired woman decided she couldn’t let these Cloud Sky disciples carry out their evil plan. She had to stop them before it was too late.
Without a moment’s hesitation, she leaped from her hiding place and charged at the Cloud Sky disciples.
The group barely had time to react before she knocked them out, one by one, with swift, powerful strikes.
Her sword flashed in the moonlight as she fought with all her might, fueled by a newfound determination to protect her sect.
“Take this!” she shouted as she delivered a final blow to the tall man with the scar, sending him crashing to the ground, unconscious.
Breathing heavily, the silver-haired woman stood victorious among the fallen Cloud Sky disciples.
She wiped the sweat from her brow and glanced around, making sure there were no more enemies lurking nearby.
“I’ve got to tell the elders,” she muttered to herself, her voice trembling with urgency.
“They need to know the truth about Jake, Xi Ping, and Su Jiyai!”
Without wasting any time, she rushed back to the Blue Sky Sect.
She had to explain everything—the boxes, the key, and most importantly, how Jake, Xi Ping, and the spirit beast had been misunderstood.
Bursting into the elder’s chamber, she barely caught her breath before she began to speak.
“Elder! Elder! You won’t believe what I’ve discovered!” she cried, her voice shaking with emotion.
The elder looked up from his scrolls, surprised by her sudden entrance.
“Calm down, child,” he said in a soothing voice. “What’s the matter?”
Taking a deep breath, the silver-haired woman began to explain everything she had witnessed in the forest.
She told the elder about the Cloud Sky Sect disciples and their wicked plan to burn the Blue Sky Sect.
She exaggerated her tale slightly, her words tumbling out in a frantic rush.
“And then… and then I saw Jake, Xi Ping, and the spirit beast—the one we thought was a spy! They weren’t working against us at all! They were gathering the boxes and the key to protect us! I misunderstood them this whole time!” she cried, tears spilling down her cheeks.
Because the story Jake had told didn’t match, the silver-haired woman had already reached a conclusion before and wanted to finish all three of them off.
But it was the elder who had stopped her till now.
Xi Ping followed the trio just to prove her point.
