Chapter 317: Chapter 317: Zombie Tide

“What is her name?” HQ asked, his voice subconsciously increasing an octave.

“Su Yun,” Nova answered. “Her name is Su Yun. She is in fact a woman. The reason why we never found out that she had such a useful power was because of the side effect.”

“Side effect?” HQ repeated in a dazed voice.

“Yes. As long as Su Yun uses her superpower, her body regresses to her younger self.”

HQ was stunned. His first reaction was to check whether Nova was telling the truth or not.

Without hesitation, he checked the remote and clicked on the chip. If Nova had the slightest thought of betraying, he would die right away or be in pain.

But to his surprise, Nova remained upright.

So he was telling the truth? Well logically speaking, side-effects do exist, but it was rare for a superpower to have side-effects.

At the same time, he thought of the rarity of that superpower and felt that having a side-effect for such a superpower was mandatory.

So believed Noah’s words.

“Alright then. Keep an eye on this woman named Su Yun for me right now.” HQ ordered. A plan was brewing in his mind.

“Yes sir,” Nova replied.

“Also try to find her weakness,” HQ said. “Now tell me any special moment or any other news you have on Jake.”

Jax who was silent till now replied,

“Other than this, we have one more piece of important news.”

“Go ahead.” HQ motioned.

Jax remembered about the special instruction Su Jiyai had given to him and said,

“From the sources, I have got to know, Boss Su may be planning to bribe Dong Shin from the military. They might be aiming to form an alliance and take over the military.”

HQ was surprised, before nodding.

‘As expected Boss Su is ambitious!’

“Okay. Have you had a chance to see what Boss Su looks like? Also, did you see the blue cat?”

“We didn’t have the chance to see Boss Su and there is no news on Blue Cat,” Vira replied.

HQ was a bit disappointed. His discovery seemed to have halted when it came to Boss Su and the blue cat.

“Alright. You all may leave now.”

At the same time, his door was knocked.

“Come in.”

One of the HQ subordinates entered the room and saluted him, before kneeling and reporting,

“Boss, spies from Hua Tribe have informed a zombie tide occurred and Hua tribe may not be able to survive the attack this time.”

HQ was surprised, before grinning. Finally…finally the chaos was happening…

As if remembering something, HQ asked,

“Is it being lead Narak?”

“From the spies, it indeed seems to be doing of the mysterious zombie king Narak.” The subordinate reported.

HQ’s grin widened.

Narak was no ordinary zombie king. He was powerful, mysterious, and, most importantly, unpredictable.

HQ had heard stories about him, how he could control vast armies of zombies, how he moved like a shadow, always staying one step ahead.

It was said that anyone who crossed paths with Narak rarely lived to tell the tale.

“Perfect,” HQ muttered to himself, his voice filled with satisfaction.

“This is exactly the kind of distraction I needed.”

He turned to the subordinate who had delivered the news.

“Tell the spies to keep monitoring the situation closely. I want updates every hour. If Narak is really leading this tide, I want to know everything.”

The subordinate nodded, still kneeling. “Yes, sir!”

Once he left, HQ took out his device and dropped a message,

“Lord, a rare superhuman has appeared.”

After reporting, HQ waited for a reply. The Lord was pretty upset with him last time, yet he spared him.

It was a kindness, but if he doesn’t show any worthiness, it won’t take the lord to become ruthless.

He only hoped that before the next meeting, he gets information about the blue cat and the news about Su Yun can quell the Lord’s anger.

Just then, HQ’s thoughts were interrupted by a soft beep coming from his communication device.

He glanced at it and saw a message from one of his higher-ranking informants. It read:

“News: The military is preparing to send reinforcements to the Hua Tribe. They don’t believe the tribe will last long against the tide.”

HQ’s grin disappeared.

Reinforcements? That could complicate things. If the military stepped in too soon, it might mess up his plans. He needed the chaos to last a little longer.

“Daniel,” HQ called, his voice sharp.

Soon Daniel, who had been quietly waiting outside the room, stepped forward.

“Yes, sir?”

“Keep an eye on the military. I need to know the exact moment they decide to move their forces. And see if you can slow them down.”

Daniel nodded “Understood.”

HQ tapped his fingers on the desk, thinking again.

He knew this situation was delicate. If he pushed too hard, things could spiral out of control.

But if he played his cards right, the chaos caused by Narak and the zombie tide could be the perfect storm for him to rise even higher in power.

The Hua tribe was a huge tribe.

As long as the chaos is huge, they can easily abduct more than 10,000 people and they will not have to think about finding more experiment subjects.

The experiments had been slow lately.

Finding new subjects in this apocalyptic world wasn’t easy.

The Hua Tribe’s fall could solve that problem in one swift move.

He could supply the labs with fresh bodies, all while making sure no one realized it was him pulling the strings from behind the scenes.

HQ leaned forward, resting his chin on his clasped hands.

“Narak is going to keep them busy for a while. But I need more time… just a little more.”

A day passed and by the afternoon, the Hua tribe was completely defeated.

When HQ got the news he was delighted, but he was stunned by the next piece of news he got,

“The zombie tide is not showing any sign of stopping.”
