Chapter 318: Chapter 318: Heat Resitant Formula
HQ frowned, “What?”
“The zombie tide may attack the Black Ray base.” The subordinates.
“What about the experiment subjects of the Black Ray? Has the plan to capture the test subjects already been made?” HQ asked.
They don’t kidnap people randomly. Their institute ensures to check all the aspects, before deeming any test subject successful.
Just the thought of investing resources and food in a test subject only to meet failure, makes HQ’s heart ache.
Hence the criteria were made.
This helps them in preventing any waste investment.
The subordinate shook his head, regret evident in his words, as he said,
“Boss, the people in Black Ray are too vigilant. Maybe the move from the last time was too obvious, this time, everyone is too vigilant.”
Nearly 2 years ago, Williow’s base was attacked by zombies. A zombie tide. At that time, they had kidnapped nearly 23,000 people.
The number was so staggering that even the higher-ups of the Williow base were alarmed.
Thanks to the situation, though, they could only silently ignore the matter and declare that the people missing might have turned into a zombie.
But now, every base was more aware, more cautious. They couldn’t just replicate the same plan.
HQ muttered, his voice tight with frustration.
“If the people at Black Ray are this cautious, it means we’ve already drawn too much attention.”
The subordinate nodded in agreement.
“Yes, boss. Ever since that incident at Willow, everyone’s been on edge. The higher-ups at Black Ray won’t let anyone near without thorough checks. They’re even scanning for unusual activity.”
“What’s the status of the zombie tide?” HQ asked after a moment.
“The tide is moving faster than expected. If Narak is really behind it, we might have less time than we thought,” the subordinate replied, sounding uneasy.
“They could hit Black Ray within a few days.”
HQ leaned back in his chair, eyes narrowing.
“So we need a new plan. If we can’t take people from Black Ray directly, we’ll need to find another way.”
The subordinate hesitated before speaking again.
“Why don’t we try to contact Narak? Maybe he will be up for negotiation.”
HQ thought of something and shook his head,
“No…Narak…he…is…no. It’s better to not contact him. I will think of another plan. Keep updating if there are any changes.”
“Okay.”
HQ waited for the subordinate to leave, but seeing him standing, her asked,
“Anything else?”

“Boss, the formula for the heat resistance potion has been made.” The subordinate answered. His words were laced with joy.
HQ was stunned for a while before bursting into hysterical laughter.
“It did?”
“Yes, boss.”
“Any side effects this time?”
“No boss.”
“Yes! Yes!” HQ excitedly waved his hand in the air.
When their Lord had given them the device to change the weather, he had also given them a heads-up. He had asked them to make a formula for heat-resistant potion.
If they can do so, they can sell the potion to all the bases and earn more than 1 million federal coins per day.
That was a 1 million federal coin. He can with ease, raise more than 100 test subjects with that kind of money!
With such extreme heat, any base would buy their heat-resistant potion.
Earlier they had made it, but in the final stages of testing, the potion suddenly had a major side effect: Drunkness.
Now that side effect has been dealt with, does he still need to worry about the pocket money he gets from his lord?
Heck no!
“Fine, go and make a sample…no! Make 40 samples, I will send it out to all the major bases.”
“Yes, boss.” The subordinate nodded and left.
“I’ll be unstoppable,” HQ whispered to himself, the excitement bubbling up inside him again. “They’ll all have to come to me.”
Just then, his communication device beeped again.
HQ glanced at it and saw another message pop up on the screen. It was from one of his trusted informants.
“Boss, we’ve got a lead on Su Yun. She’s been spotted near the eastern outskirts. Seems like she’s been moving around a lot, probably trying to stay under the radar.”
HQ’s eyes lit up. Su Yun was still out there, and now he had her location.
“Perfect,” HQ muttered. “Finally, we’re getting somewhere.”
He quickly typed a reply to the message.
“Keep an eye on her. Don’t engage just yet. I want more information before we make a move.”
……….
A day later.
The sun was setting, casting an orange glow over Rover Base as alarms blared throughout the area.
The air was thick with tension, and people were running in all directions, trying to gather supplies and find a safe place to hide.
Ge Chunli, the base leader, stood in the middle of the chaos, looking worried but determined.
The zombie tide was approaching fast, and there wasn’t much time left.
“Everyone! Gather up! We need to make a decision now!”
Ge Chunli shouted, trying to be heard over the noise. People slowly gathered around, some looking scared, others angry.
“Three days ago, Boss Su made us an offer,” Ge Chunli began.
“She said she could protect us, give us electricity, build a supermarket, and more. But many of you rejected her offer.”
Several people in the crowd murmured, clearly remembering how they had refused Boss Su’s proposal.
Back then, they didn’t think they needed her help.
They believed they could handle things on their own. But now, with the zombie tide approaching, they weren’t so sure.
“The tide will be here soon. Our base can’t hold out for more than three days against that many zombies,” Ge Chunli said grimly.
“If we don’t make a decision now, we could lose everything.”
A man in the crowd shouted, “So what are you saying? That we should just give up our land to her?”
Ge Chunli shook his head.
“Not necessarily. We can either sell our land to Boss Su or agree to a shared partnership. If we do, she’ll provide us with the protection and resources we need to survive.”
