Chapter 324: Chapter 324: Reinforcement
“It’s possible. And if your dream is showing her, it means you’ll cross paths with her again, one way or another. Whether she’s connected to Hope Base or not, we need to be prepared.”
“Do you think Su Yun knows anything?”
Su Rong asked, her voice quieter now, as if speaking her sister’s name could conjure her into the conversation.
“She’s the one who invited us. If she’s hiding something—if she knows Su Jiyai’s alive—then we’re walking into a trap.”
Fu Wei rubbed his chin, deep in thought.
“It’s hard to say. Su Yun has always been calculating, but she’s also practical. Inviting you to Hope Base benefits her—she’s positioning herself to gain favor. But whether she knows anything about Su Jiyai…I’m not sure.”
After a bit more discussion, Su Rong gave up on the thought and decided to move toward Hope Base’s direction.
…………..
Rover Base.
The battle raged on as the second wall of defense trembled under the relentless pressure of the zombie horde.
The once-sturdy barricade, hastily reinforced with whatever materials the base had at its disposal, groaned ominously as the undead masses pressed harder.
The air was thick with the metallic scent of blood and sweat, punctuated by the growls of the zombies and the shouts of the defenders.
Ge Chunli stood on the wall, his hands gripping the railing so tightly his knuckles had turned white.
Beside him, Ge Lin was similarly tense, her eyes darting between the soldiers and the waves of zombies crashing against their defenses.
“We can’t hold much longer,” Ge Lin said, her voice low but edged with desperation.
“The wall is going to collapse any minute now.”
Her father nodded grimly, wiping the sweat from his brow.
“I know. We’re running out of time.”
The young soldiers below, those who had so confidently declared their willingness to fight, were now flagging. Exhaustion had set in.
Some had been fighting non-stop for hours, their movements sluggish, their attacks losing precision and power.
It was clear that many of them regretted their earlier defiance of Boss Su’s offer.
“If only we had agreed to her proposal sooner,” one of the youths muttered, his voice barely audible amidst the chaos. His tone was bitter, regretful.
Another nodded in agreement, swinging his weapon weakly. “If we had, maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess.”
Ge Chunli overheard their words and felt a pang of guilt. Perhaps, as the leader, he should have pushed harder for them to accept Su Jiyai’s offer.
Now, with the second wall on the brink of collapse, he couldn’t help but feel that their fate was sealed.
Suddenly, a sharp, mechanical sound cut through the din of battle.
The sound of an engine revving. Ge Chunli’s eyes snapped to the source—a sleek black car speeding toward the base.
It moved with a surprising level of control for such a treacherous landscape, plowing through zombies with calculated precision, crushing their rotting bodies beneath its wheels.
“Who is that?” Ge Lin asked, her brow furrowing in confusion.

The vehicle didn’t seem to belong to any of the base’s residents, and its appearance in the midst of this chaos was unexpected, to say the least.
As the car drew closer, the defenders, already on edge, tensed even further.
Some hoped that whoever was inside might bring salvation, while others feared it could be a reckless attempt by some of their own people to flee.
But as the car came to a sudden stop just behind the second wall, the doors swung open, and out stepped several individuals dressed in the most absurd attire anyone had ever seen.
The first figure, a tall man, was clad in a full set of body armor, but instead of a helmet, he wore a colander on his head.
In his hand, he wielded a frying pan as though it were a sword.
Another figure, a woman, similarly armored, carried a rolling pin with a comically serious expression.
Their appearances were so bizarre that for a moment, the defenders could do nothing but gape.
“What… what is this?” one of the soldiers muttered, his exhaustion momentarily forgotten in the face of such a surreal spectacle.
Before anyone could process what was happening, the group leaped into action.
The man with the colander charged straight into the zombie horde, swinging his frying pan with startling efficacy.
Each swing sent zombies flying, their skulls caving in with sickening cracks.
The others followed suit, fighting with an almost theatrical intensity, their unconventional weapons—kitchen utensils, of all things—slicing through the undead as if they were nothing more than paper.
But it wasn’t just their odd weaponry that stunned the defenders.
The black car itself seemed to come alive, its engine roaring as it careened into the zombie horde, crushing dozens of undead beneath its wheels.
It was as though the vehicle had a mind of its own, expertly navigating through the sea of zombies, flattening them without a hint of hesitation.
The base members, who had been so close to despair, watched in stunned silence as the reinforcement team systematically began cutting down the horde.
The sheer absurdity of the scene made it difficult to comprehend at first.
This couldn’t be the professional help they were expecting, could it?
A few of them, still reeling from the strangeness of it all, started to grumble.
“Is this a joke? Does Boss Su really think this is funny?” one soldier spat, his voice filled with incredulous anger.
“This is life or death, and she sends… them?”
But the complaints quickly died out as the defenders began to realize something extraordinary.
Despite their unconventional attire and weaponry, this group was decimating the zombies with brutal efficiency.
As the hours dragged on, the reinforcement team showed no signs of slowing.
Whenever one of them began to tire, they would pause briefly to drink from small flasks filled with a thick, yellow liquid—honey, by the look of it.
The effect was immediate. Their exhaustion seemed to vanish, their strength and speed returning as if they had never tired at all.
