Chapter 331: Chapter 331: Angel
The space was surprisingly large on the inside, with rows of neatly arranged shelves stretching out before her.
She immediately began working, filling the shelves with the essentials.
Canned food of all varieties—beans, fruits, soups, and stews—lined one row. Ready-to-make meals, such as instant noodles, pasta, and rice packets, occupied another section.
There were boxes of processed snacks, preserved meats, and energy bars as well, each carefully placed to ensure the citizens would have enough.
She moved to another section of the store and stocked it with baby care products—diapers, formula, and hygiene items.
It wasn’t just adults that needed to be cared for, after all.
Medicines came next, from over-the-counter pain relievers to basic first-aid supplies like bandages and antiseptics.
The clothes section was filled next. Though the section contained repetitive clothes.
Su Jiyai was thorough in her selections, ensuring that the citizens would have access to what they needed most during the emergency period.
When she finished, Su Jiyai stood back and surveyed the supermarket.
It was fully stocked, and ready for the citizens to use.
The shelves gleamed under the fluorescent lights, the air inside cool and sterile. It was a stark contrast to the chaotic, dangerous world outside.
Su Jiyai gave a satisfied nod, then called the system again.
“System, monitor the supermarket. Ensure that no one takes more than they need, and set up an automatic replenishment system for essential items.”
[Understood, host. Monitoring the supermarket and setting up replenishment.]
With that done, she stepped out of the supermarket.
After exiting the supermarket, Su Jiyai called Ge Chunli once more.
His voice came through the communicator, still carrying the underlying tension that had yet to fade from the earlier events.
“Boss Su?” he asked, sounding cautious. “Is everything okay?”
“Everything’s fine,” Su Jiyai replied, her tone steady.
“But I need you to gather all the citizens and lead them to the center of the base.”
Ge Chunli hesitated for a moment, clearly unsure about the request.
“The center? What’s going on? You asked me to clear the area just a little while ago.”
“I know. Things have changed,” Su Jiyai explained.
“Now, I need you to make sure the citizens form a line—no pushing, no rushing, and no crowding. We need to avoid any kind of chaos or stampede.
Each person will be able to buy food, but only in limited amounts. You’ll be responsible for maintaining order and guiding them through the process.”
Ge Chunli was silent for a few seconds, digesting her instructions.
“Limited amounts of food? Boss Su, with all due respect, we barely have any food left in the base. How are you planning to distribute it, and why these strict rules?”
Su Jiyai smiled faintly.

“Just follow my orders, Ge Chunli. Trust me.”
Though still confused, Ge Chunli agreed. “Alright, I’ll gather everyone and bring them to the center.”
True to his word, Ge Chunli quickly mobilized the citizens, calling them out of their homes and directing them to the center of the base.
Word spread fast, and before long, people began streaming toward the location, curiosity piqued.
There was a general sense of unease, though—a nervous buzz among the crowd.
After all, food had become scarce, and no one knew what to expect from the strange orders they had received.
But as Ge Chunli led them to the center, the reason for Su Jiyai’s cryptic instructions became clear.
The citizens stopped dead in their tracks as they saw it.
There, standing in the heart of the base, was a gleaming supermarket.
It was massive, far larger than anyone had anticipated, with clean walls and automatic sliding doors.
The fluorescent lights illuminated the shelves inside, casting a surreal glow over the entire structure.
Ge Chunli stood frozen, his mouth slightly agape.
For a moment, he wondered if he was imagining things.
A supermarket? Where had it come from? Had it just… appeared?
The murmurs among the citizens quickly grew louder, many of them rubbing their eyes in disbelief. “Are we seeing things?” one man asked aloud, incredulous.
“Is this real?” another woman muttered.
A few bold citizens, driven by curiosity and hunger, stepped forward and cautiously entered the supermarket.
Their steps were hesitant as if they expected the building to vanish the moment they approached.
But as they passed through the sliding doors, nothing changed.
The supermarket was real.
Inside, the bold group wandered through the aisles, their eyes wide with awe as they took in the sheer variety of products on the shelves.
Canned food, instant noodles, baby care products, and medicine—it was all there.
They moved as if in a trance, picking up a few items to inspect them.
A pack of instant noodles caught the eye of one man, and he noticed the label beneath it: 50 points.
The man frowned, confused by the pricing system, but before he could ask any questions, his gaze drifted toward the checkout counter.
There, clearly displayed, was an exchange rate. One Level 1 zombie crystal could be exchanged for 1,000 points.
The man blinked, processing the information. With a single zombie crystal, he could buy 20 packs of instant noodles.
Hesitating for only a moment, the group of bold citizens made their way to the counter, selecting a few items.
The man placed one zombie crystal on the counter and, in exchange, received his 20 packs of noodles.
When they exited the supermarket, their arms filled with food, the rest of the crowd stared at them, wide-eyed and stunned.
The murmurs grew louder, whispers of astonishment and disbelief spreading like wildfire through the gathered citizens.
“They… they’re selling food?” someone in the crowd gasped.
“And it’s cheap!” another exclaimed, pointing at the packs of noodles in the man’s hands.
A wave of relief swept over the people, followed by an outpouring of gratitude.
They started to murmur excitedly among themselves, their voices rising in a chorus of praise for the person who had made it all possible.
“Boss Su saved us!” one woman cried out, her voice filled with emotion. “She’s an angel sent by God!”
