Chapter 333: Chapter 323: Cleaning Up
“Boss Su has given you food and protection. She has done nothing but help this base. And you stand here, spreading rumors and doubt?”
Li Qiang sneered.
“I’m just saying what everyone’s thinking. Why should we trust her? What if this is all just a trick? She’s not one of us, Leader Ge. She could be planning to kill us and take over all the land for free!”
A few nods of agreement came from the crowd, but most people seemed torn, unsure whether to side with Li Qiang or remain loyal to Su Jiyai.
Ge Chunli took a deep breath and spoke again, this time with a calmer, more measured tone.
“I understand your concerns. I really do. But look at the facts, Li Qiang. Boss Su hasn’t taken anything from us—she’s only given.
Food, protection, stability. What reason do we have to doubt her when she’s already proven herself?”
Li Qiang scoffed. “So, we’re just supposed to follow her blindly? Like sheep?”
“No,” Ge Chunli replied firmly.
“You’re supposed to use your brain. Think about everything that’s happened in the past few days.
The food, the barrier, the fact that we’re still alive when we could have been overrun by zombies.
All of that is because of Boss Su. If she wanted she could have refused to send out the reinforcement in the first place.
We all would have died and she could have easily evacuated the area and taken over.”
A heavy silence fell over the crowd as Ge Chunli’s words sank in. Some of the protesters shifted uncomfortably, casting glances at one another.
“She’s not forcing anyone,” a voice called out from the front. It was the same woman who had spoken up earlier.
“She’s asking for our cooperation. There’s a difference.”
“That’s right,” another man added.
“If you don’t like it, you’re free to leave the base. See how long you last out there without her protection.”
A few chuckles rippled through the crowd at that remark, and Li Qiang’s expression darkened.
However, he didn’t have anything left to say, so he could only keep quiet and leave.
Ge Chunli watched him go, but his focus quickly shifted back to the rest of the citizens.
“I know this might seem strange to some of you,” he said, addressing the group.
“But Boss Su has earned our trust. If she’s asking us to stay inside tonight, there’s a reason. Let’s follow her instructions and see what tomorrow brings.”
The crowd slowly began to disperse, most people nodding in agreement as they made their way back to their homes.
Though a few lingering doubts remained, the majority of the base had decided to place their faith in Su Jiyai.
At night.
Su Jiyai came out of the house arranged by Ge Chunli and asked the system if there were any humans out of their home.
Her lips curled into a cold smirk as the system confirmed her suspicions.
[There are a few humans out of their homes,] the system reported in its monotone voice.

She crossed her arms and sighed. “How many?” she asked.
[Three,] the system replied.
[They appear to be moving cautiously toward the base’s perimeter.]
Su Jiyai chuckled softly, shaking her head.
“I should’ve known. There are always a few who think they’re above everyone else, who think rules don’t apply to them.” Her voice dripped with disdain.
Su Jiyai smirked,
“Kick them out.”
[Host they will die.]
“So?” Su Jiyai asked calmly.
[Host, why not teleport them to their house and knock them out ?]
“No.” Su Jiyai shook her head,
“Do you know what will happen if I do so? The next day, they will claim that I have some dangerous power or they might go around telling all kinds of rumors.
Then, they’d demand explanations, push for answers, and make themselves a nuisance. They’d stir up fear and distrust in the base. Is that what you want?”
[No, Host,] the system answered, its voice flat and obedient.
“Exactly,” Su Jiyai said, her tone final.
“It’s better for everyone if they die out there, in the hands of the zombies. Their deaths will be a lesson to the others. No one will question my orders again after tonight.”
The system remained silent for a moment before complying.
[Understood, Host.]
Within moments the three figures hiding in the shadows were teleported outside the base.
They were stunned.
Su Jiyai watched impassively as they looked around in panic, their heads swiveling toward the direction of the noise.
She could almost hear their frantic whispers, their hurried movements as they tried to retreat back to the safety of the base.
But it was too late.
A chorus of guttural growls filled the air, and the first of the zombies appeared—a grotesque, rotting creature that moved with surprising speed, its eyes gleaming with hunger.
The figures screamed, but their cries were quickly drowned out by the sickening sound of tearing flesh.
Su Jiyai didn’t flinch as the chaos unfolded before her. She had seen it all before.
Blood splattered the ground, and the air was filled with the horrific cacophony of bones cracking, flesh being torn apart, and the desperate wails of the dying.
It was over in minutes.
When the noise finally subsided, Su Jiyai let out a slow, steady breath.
The once-defiant citizens were nothing more than mangled corpses now, their bodies scattered across the ground, lifeless and broken.
The zombies, having satisfied their hunger, slowly began to wander away, leaving behind a scene of carnage.
[The intruders have been neutralized,] the system reported, its voice cold and detached.
“Good,” Su Jiyai replied. She turned away from the gruesome sight and began walking back toward her quarters.
“Let the others find their bodies in the morning. That will send a message stronger than any words I could say.”
[Understood, Host,] the system replied.
Su Jiyai then turned her focus on the system panel. Today she planned to build some buildings, a honey factory, clear up wasteland, and weapon shops.
