Chapter 334: Chapter 324: Building The Cotton Factory
Su Jiyai started constructing and within a few hours, she was able to build 3 buildings and decorate all the rooms.
She also built the honey outlet shop and weapon shop.
Once done, Su Jiyai stretched a bit and asked the system,
“Is the cotton multiplied?”
[Yes host.]
“Teleport me to the Hope Base.” Su Jiyai ordered.
Once back in her base, Su Jiyai who had already asked Yuan Xin to get all the citizens to stay in the room, started to build a cotton factory.
After finishing the decoration, she posted a recruitment notice, returned to the Rover base, and slept till 11 am.
Waking up, she heard unexpected, yet expected news. Three men were missing.
The atmosphere at Rover Base was tense.
Whispers filled the air as the news spread about the missing men.
People gathered in small groups, their faces filled with worry and confusion.
Some looked toward Su Jiyai’s quarters, others nervously glanced at Ge Chunli.
“They disappeared in the middle of the night,” one woman said, her voice shaking. “Do you think the zombies got them?”
“Who knows?” another man muttered.
“But it’s strange that they were the only ones who didn’t listen to the order to stay inside.”
Ge Chunli stood near the center of the base, watching the growing crowd.
He could see the doubt creeping back into their eyes.
He knew he had to address it quickly before rumors got out of hand again.
“Everyone, calm down,” Ge Chunli called out, stepping forward.
“I understand you’re all worried, but let’s not jump to conclusions. We don’t know what happened yet.”
A few people nodded, but the tension didn’t ease. Someone in the back of the crowd shouted,
“What if Boss Su did something to them?”
Ge Chunli felt a surge of frustration but kept his tone even.
“That’s a serious accusation. Do you really think she would harm anyone after all she’s done for this base?”
The crowd fell silent for a moment, but then a man stepped forward. It was Li Qiang again, his eyes dark and challenging.
“And what if she did? Do you think she’s above suspicion just because she gave us food and protection? Power corrupts, Leader Ge. She’s no different.”
Before Ge Chunli could respond, another voice cut through the crowd.
“Li Qiang, stop this nonsense!” It was Ge Lin.

“You’re trying to stir trouble where there isn’t any. The missing men ignored orders, and now they’re gone. We all know the risks outside the base.”
Li Qiang sneered.
“So, what? We’re just supposed to believe that they conveniently got eaten by zombies the same night they disobeyed Boss Su’s orders?”
Ge Lin stepped closer to Li Qiang, her expression hard.
“You want to blame someone for your own foolishness, fine. But don’t drag others down with you. Those men made their choice, and it cost them.
And what if Boss Su isn’t the one who is behind their death? No…to be precise you don’t have any proof against Boss Su so you can’t blame her!”
The crowd murmured in agreement, but the unease still lingered. Ge Chunli raised his hands to calm everyone down.
“Let’s focus on what we can control. We’ll send out a search party to confirm what happened. Until then, no more accusations. Stay inside, follow the rules, and keep this base safe.”
Even though Ge Chunli didn’t say anything outright, his stance was clear. He wasn’t going to blame Su Jiyai at all.
He was a leader who had seen many difficult things. The moment he invited Su Jiyai to help him, he already had an idea of what to expect from her.
It was evident that the citizens of Rover Base would feel resistance to Su Jiyai.
But…that doesn’t mean he will overlook the effort Su Jiyai took to ensure the survival of the Rover Base.
Su Jiyai did so much and only expected the citizens to stay in their homes for one night but they…they couldn’t even comply with that request and wanted to investigate.
Maybe his disappointment was too evident because few of the citizens felt shameful and lowered their heads.
Meanwhile, inside her quarters, Su Jiyai sat calmly, watching everything unfold through the system’s surveillance. She leaned back in her chair, a small smile playing on her lips.
“See?” she said quietly to herself. “It’s all falling into place. Soon enough, no one will question me again.”
She wanted to earn their respect but also wanted to ensure they feared her.
The citizens of Rover Base went about their day as usual, but something new caught their attention.
As they wandered around the base, they noticed a strange building that hadn’t been there the day before.
“Hey, what’s that?” a young man asked, pointing at the newly built shop. “Did Boss Su build something else while we were sleeping?”
Curious, the crowd slowly approached the building.
The sign at the front read Weapon Shop, and beside it was a smaller shop labeled Honey Outlet.
A few people exchanged glances, unsure of what to expect.
“Should we go in?” someone muttered.
“Well, it’s from Boss Su, so it’s gotta be good, right?” another said, already pushing the door open.
Inside, the citizens gasped.
The walls were lined with weapons of all kinds—swords, guns, and other high-tech gadgets.
But what caught most people’s attention wasn’t the deadly-looking weapons.
Instead, they all stared at something much more ordinary: colanders, pans, and rolling pins.
“Wait a second,” one woman said, picking up a shiny colander from the shelf.
“Isn’t this the same thing the reinforcement team had on their heads?”
Another man grabbed a pan and held it up.
“And this! I swear I saw one of them fighting zombies with a frying pan. He looked so cool!”
The memory of the reinforcement team fighting off zombies with these everyday kitchen tools sent a wave of excitement through the crowd.
“Yeah! They were wearing these colanders-like helmets and bashing zombies with rolling pins! They made it look so easy!”
