Chapter 335: Chapter 335: Rent A Room
A man near the front of the shop chuckled and grabbed a rolling pin, spinning it in his hands like a weapon.
“I bet I could take on a zombie with one of these too!”
People started crowding around the shelves, grabbing colanders, pans, and rolling pins.
They seemed more interested in these items than the actual weapons.
Su Jiyai, sitting in her quarters sipping a cup of coffee, noticed something odd on her system panel.
Her bank balance was rising quickly. She frowned and pulled up the sales report.
“What in the world?” she murmured, staring at the list of items sold.
“Why is everyone buying colanders, pans, and rolling pins?”
She scrolled through the sales, expecting to see swords, guns, or even shields at the top of the list.
But no—all the citizens seemed to care about were the kitchen tools.
Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow, baffled. “They left the swords and guns behind… for this?”
Back at the shop, the citizens were still praising Su Jiyai’s “genius” for stocking these “weapons.”
“Boss Su must have known these are the best weapons against zombies!” one man exclaimed, holding a rolling pin like a sword.
“Yeah! She knew exactly what we needed! Forget swords and guns—these colanders and pans are perfect!”
A woman placed a colander on her head, grinning at her reflection in a mirror.
“Look at me! Just like the reinforcement team! I feel invincible already!”
Another man nodded enthusiastically.
“Boss Su is brilliant. She gave us the perfect tools to defend ourselves. Who needs fancy swords when you’ve got a trusty frying pan?”
More and more people walked out of the shop, proudly holding their new “weapons.”
Some wore the colanders on their heads like helmets, while others swung their pans and rolling pins around, testing their new “gear.”
Su Jiyai watched through the system, sipping her coffee again with a mixture of confusion and amusement.
“Well… if they want to waste their money on kitchen utensils, who am I to stop them?”
As the citizens of Rover Base marveled at the newly discovered shops, a few of them ventured toward the tall buildings that had also mysteriously appeared.
They cautiously entered one of the buildings, unsure of what they would find.
Inside, they were greeted by spotless hallways, neatly arranged and clean.
Curiosity getting the better of them, they began to explore the rooms.
The first group of citizens opened the door to one of the rooms, and their eyes widened in disbelief.
“Whoa!” a man exclaimed, stepping inside. “Look at this place!”
The room was nothing like the worn-out shacks they were used to.

There was a cozy sofa in the living room, a fan, and an air conditioner overhead, and everything looked new and well-maintained.
The kitchen was shiny, with a stove, sink, and counters that sparkled. A woman ran her hand over the countertop, her mouth hanging open.
“I’ve never seen anything like this in our base,” she whispered.
The group continued to explore the rest of the room.
There was a clean bedroom with a comfortable bed neatly made up with soft pillows and blankets. They stared at the bed in awe.
“No more sleeping on the floor or makeshift mats,” one of them said, shaking his head. “This is luxury.”
Another citizen pushed open the bathroom door, and a collective gasp echoed through the room.
“Is that… a shower?” a woman asked, her eyes wide.
She reached for the shower knob and turned it on, squealing with excitement when water poured out.
A man beside her laughed.
“I can’t believe it. A real shower! With clean water and everything!”
“Boss Su is a genius,” someone muttered, almost in a trance as they moved from room to room, taking in all the facilities.
“She’s really looking out for us. I never thought I’d see a place this nice in a base.”
A few of the citizens started talking amongst themselves, realizing something important.
“Remember what Leader Ge said about the buildings at Boss Su’s base?” one of them asked.
“He mentioned she had residential buildings like this for rent.”
“Wait, you’re right!” another man chimed in, snapping his fingers.
“These rooms must be for rent too. We could actually live in a place like this!”
The excitement grew quickly.
In no time, the citizens rushed out of the building and made their way to find Ge Chunli.
They spotted him in the middle of the base and hurried toward him, their faces lit up with enthusiasm.
“Leader Ge! Leader Ge!” one of them called out.
Ge Chunli turned to see the group approaching, their eyes practically sparkling.
“What’s going on?” he asked, a bit puzzled by their sudden excitement.
“We found the rooms! The ones Boss Su must’ve built!” the citizens began speaking over each other in their excitement.
“They’re amazing! There’s a bed, a kitchen, air conditioning, and even a shower! We want to rent one!”
Ge Chunli raised his hands to calm them down.
“Alright, alright, I hear you. But I don’t know the rent fees for the rooms. I’ll have to ask Boss Su.”
The citizens groaned in impatience, but they knew they had no choice but to wait.
Ge Chunli nodded to them before heading straight toward Su Jiyai’s quarters. He reached her door and knocked softly.
“Boss Su, may I come in?” Ge Chunli called out.
After a moment, Su Jiyai’s calm voice responded, “Come in.”
Ge Chunli opened the door and stepped inside.
He wasn’t surprised to see a different face sitting at the desk—he knew about Su Jiyai’s shapeshifting abilities by now.
She looked up from her coffee, raising an eyebrow at him.
“What is it, Leader Ge?” Su Jiyai asked, her tone cool and collected.
Ge Chunli cleared his throat.
“The citizens discovered the rooms in the new buildings you built. They’re all very eager to rent them, but they asked me about the rent fees. I didn’t know what to tell them, so I came to ask you directly.”
