Chapter 339: Chapter 339: Red Zone
Su Jiyai collects the names of people who are interested, along with their addresses and identity proof.
Once she was in her private room, she sat down and let out a small sigh of relief. But there was still work to be done.
“System, I need contracts made for the housing deals. Here is the list,” she called out, her voice calm but firm. She waved her hand in the air and the paper from her hand vanished.
[Of course, Host. I’ll generate the contracts now,] the system replied in its usual robotic tone.
Su Jiyai waited patiently as the system worked.
After a few moments, the system spoke again.
[The contracts are ready. But, Host, I’m curious about something.]
Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow.
It wasn’t often the system questioned her actions.
“What is it?” she asked.
[Why are you being so generous with these people? Offering them apartments, giving them more than they expected—it doesn’t seem like a typical strategy, especially in these times.]
Su Jiyai smiled beneath her veil, amused by the system’s question.
“I’m not just being generous for the sake of it,” she explained. “I have a plan.”
The system remained quiet, clearly waiting for her to continue.
“You see,” Su Jiyai began, leaning back in her chair, “if I give the people what they want, they’ll trust me more. Trust is valuable. With their trust, they’ll follow my lead without question. They won’t hesitate to support me when I need them in the future.”
[But wouldn’t it be easier to just take control without giving them so much?] the system asked, still unsure.
Su Jiyai shook her head.
“That might work in the short term, but it creates resentment. People don’t like feeling forced into things. By offering them a fair deal, they’ll think they’re benefiting.
And in the long run, they’ll be loyal because they believe I have their best interests at heart.”
The system processed her words and then responded.
[You’re not just giving them what they want; you’re building loyalty and control without them even realizing it.]
Su Jiyai nodded.
“Exactly. If they feel safe and supported, they’ll keep coming to me for help. And the more they rely on me, the more power I’ll have over them.”
After a brief pause, the system spoke again.
[Host, your strategy is impressive. You’ve found a way to gain control without force or fear. I can see now why you’ve chosen this path.]
Su Jiyai rolled her eyes and asked it to give the contract to her. Once he does so. Su Jiyai calls Ge Chunli and hands him the contracts.
Ge Chunli takes the contract while Su Jiyai thinks of returning to her base once all the contracts are signed.
Su Jiyai then started to work out. Her primary focus was now to increase her physical strength and her cultivation.
In the past few months with her constant practice, her strength had increased to the point that she won’t have any problem in killing 20 to 30 level-4 zombies.

If she used her superpower, she would have the confidence to last against level-4 Zombie for an hour or so.
After her workout, she started to absorb space element crystals.
She wanted to see what the third level of Dimension Hunting has to offer.
By the evening, Su Jiyai absorbed more than 200 crystals.
Only when her system reminded her to have dinner did she take a break.
During the break, Su Jiyai asked the system,
“Did you find the specific reason for the sudden attack by the zombies?”
[Host, I investigated the reason. A Level-12 Zombie is behind this attack.]
“Level 12?” Su Jiyai was stunned.
Just a few months ago, the system had told her that the max level zombie was level 9.
Now…it has suddenly changed to level 12.
Su Jiyai couldn’t explain her feelings at the moment.
Humanity was at too much disadvantage.
Less population, and low rate of awakening.
To top it off, the speed of cultivation of humanity was too slow.
A normal human would take 3 years to reach level 2.
While a genius will take only 1.5 years to level up.
Even with the addition of resources, the progress can only be reduced to 8 months.
In comparison, Su Jiyai who was able to level up in just 6 months was considered a genius. Yet even she couldn’t keep up with the cultivation speed of zombies.
In just a few months it was able to level up, two times.
The worst part? Higher-level zombies could easily evolve level-2 zombies into level-4 zombies.
“How did it evolve so fast?” she asked the system, her voice a mix of disbelief and concern.
[Host, the zombies have discovered new energy sources in the red zones. These areas are rich in mutation energy, allowing them to evolve much quicker than before.]
Su Jiyai frowned. “Red zones? Why wasn’t I told about this earlier?”
[They appeared only recently, Host. The energy concentration in those zones is unlike anything seen before.]
She took a deep breath, trying to stay calm.
“So, they’re getting stronger while we’re still struggling to keep up. That’s just great.”
The system didn’t respond immediately.
Suddenly Su Jiyai asked,
“Wait…if there is a red zone then there should be a green zone too, right? The one beneficial to humankind.”
The system turned silent.
Su Jiyai sighed, with a baffled expression on her face,
“Why do the zombies have red zones but humans don’t? By the way, what is the location of the red zone?”
[Its…Its area is 250 km away from your base.]
Su Jiyai narrowed her eyes and calculated the distance. 250 km…wasn’t…Rover Base at that distance…
“From what you are saying, the area should be around Rover Base, and it has only recently appeared, meaning…it has appeared during the zombie tide. Wait!
System doesn’t tell me the zombies have found a way to increase their cultivation by killing humans.”
