Chapter 344: Chapter 344: Blood Scythe
“Yeah…yeah…” Su Jiyai sighed.
Feeling tired, Su Jiyai decided to take a nap and went to bed.
…….
“Holy sh*t! Is this a place to live or a palace? How can it be so beautiful!”
“If I wasn’t living here a day before, I would have never believed that Boss Su has such a magical power!”
“Indeed…who would have thought that in just one day, Boss Su would build these 3 beautiful buildings in just one night!”
“Just the mere thought of how I am going to get an apartment in this building, I feel like flying!”
“God! I am regretting not signing the contract now!”
The citizens of the Rover Base were amazed, while some other people’s greed was ignited.
“I don’t want to sow discord but this building has 20 floors, shouldn’t Boss Su, at least gift two apartments per person?” A citizen wearing a green t-shirt muttered.
“Correct, I was thinking the same. There should be at least 50 to 60 apartments in this building, shouldn’t Boss Su be a little generous and give us more?” Someone in the crowd agreed.
Unbeknownst to others, a group of people’s expressions changed when they heard those casual comments.
One of them was Liang Mu.
Liang Mu calmly turned toward the green t-shirt guy and asked,
“So do you think Boss Su is giving us less?”
The green -t-shirt guy thinking he was getting a follower, instantly nodded.
“Exactly, she is just an old lady, why does she even need money? She should just give everyone two apartments and take only 5 to 6 apartments for herself.”
Liang Mu smiled, however, the temperature around her dropped,
“Really? Then I will give you my apartment, all you have to do is gift me 10 apartments according to your logic. After all Boss Su promised to give an apartment based on the number of people living in my house, which is 5. If we add your condition as well, I should receive 10 apartments.”
The crowd grew quiet, sensing the tension in the air.
The green t-shirt guy stammered, “I-I didn’t mean it like that… I was just saying—”
“You were just being greedy,” Liang Mu interrupted coldly.
“Boss Su built these towers for all of us, and you’re already thinking about how to take advantage of her kindness. Shameful.”
The man’s face turned red as the crowd murmured in agreement. Someone from the back spoke up,
“Yeah, stop being selfish! We’re lucky to have Boss Su leading us!”
Liang Mu crossed her arms and added,
“If you think you can do better, go ahead. Build a tower yourself. But until then, don’t you dare talk bad about Boss Su.”
The green t-shirt guy shrank back, muttering something under his breath before scurrying off.
Another person in the crowd said loudly,
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
“Boss Su works so hard for us, and we should be grateful. Those of us who signed the contract already got what she promised. If you didn’t, that’s on you!”
The crowd cheered in agreement, and Liang Mu nodded in satisfaction.
By afternoon, Su Jiyai woke up, had her lunch, and started to work out.
The system reported her about the incident that had happened in the morning.
Su Jiyai smirked but didn’t say anything.
[Host, there was one thing. Some of the citizens tried to include their relatives in their households to get extra apartments, but Ge Chunli refused their contract instantly.]
Su Jiyai nodded.
She was expecting some citizens to pull off such stunts. But Ge Chunli’s decisiveness reassured Su Jiyai’s worries.
In the afternoon, Su Jiyai decided to return to her base.
She informed Ge Chunli and asked the system to teleport her to Hope Base.
“Call Yuan Xin.” She ordered the system, as she quickly took a shower.
On finishing her shower, Su Jiyai sat in the controller room and waited for Yuan Xin.
Surprisingly, Yuan Xin didn’t arrive even after 20 minutes.
“System is Yuan Xin okay?” Su Jiyai asked with a worried expression.
[Host, he is suffering from a mild fever.]
“Why didn’t you inform me before?” Su Jiyai frowned, “Call a doctor…”
Before she could finish her words, Huo Ning entered the room. With a file in her one hand and straight posture, she first greeted Su Jiyai and then said,
“Boss Su today I am here to report about the things happening in the base.”
Su Jiyai was amused,
“So you are here on behalf of Yuan Xin?”
“Yes Boss Su.” Huo Ning and started to flip the file’s pages. She looked as if she would report once Su Jiyai asked her to.
“How is he? Why is he not here?” Su Jiyai asked curiously.
“Oh…he is not feeling well.” A hint of worry flashed in Huo Ning’s eyes.
Suddenly she thought of something and looked in the direction of the speaker,
“Boss Su, do you have another white crystal?”
Su Jiyai was surprised by the sudden request.
White crystal could reveal a person’s superpower when they place their hand on it. The crystal will display a color corresponding to the power.
It was previously used by Huo Ning to know her superpower. Now Huo Ning was asking for it again…was she about to awaken her second superpower?
“You think you’re about to awaken another power?” Su Jiyai asked, her voice filled with curiosity.
Huo Ning shook her head,
“It’s for Yuan Xin…”
Su Jiyai blinked in surprise.
“For Yuan Xin?” she repeated. “You think he’s about to awaken a power?”
Huo Ning nodded, her face serious.
“Yes, Boss Su. Yuan Xin mentioned feeling strange lately, like there’s some kind of energy building up inside him. And with him getting sick now… I just thought maybe it was connected to his awakening. That’s why I asked for the white crystal.”
Su Jiyai rubbed her chin, thinking.
If Yuan Xin was indeed about to awaken a superpower, this could be a big deal for their base.
Having someone with more abilities would definitely help them in future battles and with the tasks at hand.
“Alright,” Su Jiyai finally said.
“I’ll give you the white crystal. But make sure he doesn’t push himself too hard. If it’s really his first awakening, it might take a toll on his body.”
Huo Ning bowed her head slightly in gratitude.
“Thank you, Boss Su. I’ll take care of it.”
Su Jiyai spent 1 million points to buy the white crystal and teleported it to the table.
“Let me know the results as soon as possible,” Su Jiyai said.
“Yes, Boss Su,” Huo Ning responded, taking the crystal carefully. She turned to leave the room but hesitated for a moment.
“Is there something else?” Su Jiyai asked.
Huo Ning looked back at the speaker, a small smile on her face.
“Thank you for always looking out for us, Boss Su. I know you don’t show it much, but we all know you care.”
As the door closed behind her, Su Jiyai let out a deep breath. Huo Ning was truly…amusing.
“System,” she called, “Give me the latest report on the base’s defense systems”
[Host, till now, none of the external forces have dared to attack the base. Everything is going smoothly.]
Su Jiyai blinked, “What about the internal matters? Are there any internal fights going on?”
[No host. This time there are no internal fights. All the fights has been solved by your fan club.]
“My fan club?” Su Jiyai repeated.
[Yes host. Your fan club is getting stronger. They have been dealing with anyone causing trouble in the base. They seem very loyal to you.]
Su Jiyai couldn’t help but chuckle a little.
“My fan club, huh? Well, as long as they don’t cause problems, I guess it’s fine.”
She stood up and stretched, feeling her muscles relax a bit.
Today had been eventful, but there was still more to do. She glanced at the clock on the wall.
“System, take out the vampire attacks handbook. I will try to learn an attack today.”
[Yes host.]
She closed her eyes and started to concentrate her blood on her fingertips.
The energy inside her body started to move more smoothly, flowing towards her hands.
Slowly, red wisps of blood began swirling around her fingers.
The air felt heavier like it was pressing down on her. Su Jiyai gritted her teeth, trying not to lose focus.
A thin line of blood started to form, stretching and sharpening in the air in front of her hand. It was weak, barely holding its shape, but it was there!
Sweat beaded on her forehead, and her hands shook a little.
The pressure from controlling the blood was stronger than she expected.
But she didn’t stop. With great effort, she pulled the blood together, and the wisp grew longer, sharper.
Then, with a sudden jolt, the blood took form.
In her hand, a small red scythe made from her own blood appeared. It was jagged and rough around the edges, but it was real!
Her eyes widened in amazement.
“Holy… I did it!” she exclaimed, her voice trembling with excitement.
