Chapter 345: Chapter 345: Vampire Skill
[Congratulatiosn host for learning a Vampire Skill.]
[Congratulations for unlocking your potential of Vampire Bloodline…]
[The reward for helping Huo Ning awaken her superpower, has been unlocked. You have obtained 1 vampire skill: Blood Bullet.]
[To learn the skill, please close your eyes and start to absorb the information.]
“Eh? The reward for that mission is been given out now?” Su Jiyai was surprised.
After completing that mission, Su Jiyai never got any reward.
She subconsciously added another ‘scumbag system’ point to the system in her mind and forgot about it.
Now… she suddenly received the reward and felt a surge of complex emotion in her heart.
Ah… The system wasn’t as bad as she thinks it is.
So no reward for a mission means…the reward for that mission can only be shown after certain criteria have been fulfilled.
Yet, Su Jiyai added a ‘scumbag system’ point to the system for not telling her that fact.
“I want to absorb the skill.”
[Starting the absorption process… Please wait…]
As Su Jiyai closed her eyes, she felt a weird sensation in her head, like someone was pouring knowledge straight into her brain.
It wasn’t painful, but it was definitely strange. She felt a slight tingling sensation all over her body as the new skill settled in.
[Skill absorption complete. You’ve learned Blood Bullet.]
Su Jiyai opened her eyes, and a smile spread across her face.
“So, it’s like shooting bullets made from my own blood, huh? Sounds useful.”
She flexed her hand, feeling the power pulsing just beneath the surface.
It was weird how natural it felt like it had always been there, waiting for her to unlock it.
“Let’s give it a try,” she whispered to herself.
Standing up, she focused on her hand. Red energy swirled around her fingertips, and with a quick flick of her wrist, a small Blood Bullet shot out, hitting the wall in front of her.
It left a small dent, but nothing major.
“Hah, guess I need more practice,” she muttered, a little disappointed by the small impact.
[Host, don’t worry. You’ll get stronger with more training.]
“Yeah, yeah,” she said with a sigh, rolling her eyes.
Suddenly she passed and asked in a confused tone,
“Eh…system…does this skill have any side effects?”
[It does. All the blood skills do host.]

Su Jiyai paused, her eyes narrowing. “What kind of side effects?”
[Using blood-based skills will weaken you temporarily since they consume your own blood. The more you use it, the more drained you’ll feel. If you use too much, you could pass out or worse.]
Su Jiyai frowned.
“So basically, if I overdo it, I’ll end up fainting like some weakling?”
[That’s a possibility, host.]
She groaned, annoyed.
“Great. Just what I needed—another skill that makes me weak if I use it too much.”
[But host, the skill will get stronger as you do. You just have to build up your blood reserves and control.]
“Yeah, yeah, I get it. Work hard, get strong, don’t die. Typical stuff,” she grumbled. “Now…tell me how do I build up my blood reserves. Don’t tell me I will have to suck someone’s blood…”
Toward the end, Su Jiyai chuckled.
However, the system remained silent.
Su Jiyai’s smile faded, and her eyes widened.
“Wait… system? Don’t tell me I do have to suck someone’s blood for real?”
[…Host is correct.]
Su Jiyai froze.
“W-What? No way! That’s so gross! I’m not gonna bite anyone!” She shuddered at the thought.
“Is there any substitute?” Su Jiyai asked with a hopeful gaze.
[To truly strengthen your blood reserves, human blood is recommended.]
Su Jiyai felt like she was going to faint.
“You’re kidding me, right? There’s no way I’m going around biting people like some kind of vampire!”
[Host is already a part vampire. This is a natural part of your abilities now.]
She groaned and fell onto her bed, covering her face with her hands.
“This is seriously the worst.”
The system was quiet for a moment, and then it spoke again.
[Host can choose to control the urge and only use blood from willing donors or use small amounts over time from yourself to recover gradually.]
Su Jiyai perked up a little. “Wait, so I don’t have to bite people?”
[Correct. However, using your own blood will slow down your recovery and make you weaker for longer periods.]
She let out a long sigh.
“Okay, that’s better, I guess. I’ll figure something out. Maybe I’ll just stick with using my own blood until I can, you know, find a better solution.”
[Host can also consider storing blood from various sources to use later. Blood banks or specialized containers may help.]
Su Jiyai blinked.
“Wait, I can store blood? Like, have a stash of it for later?”
[Yes, host. Blood can be preserved and used when needed, but the fresher it is, the more effective.]
She sat up, rubbing her temples. “I really feel like I’m becoming one of those weird vampires.”
[Host, there might be something more interesting going around. Would you like to see it?]
“Yeah…just show it.” Su Jiyai waved her hand in irritation.
A blue panel appeared in front of her and she saw the scene of Huo Ning passing a white crystal to Yuan Xin.
…………………….
Yuan Xin looked at Huo Ning with confusion.
“What is this?”
“This is White Crystal. As long as you place your hand on it or drop your blood, it will change color and will tell you if have awakened any superpower or not and if the fever you are having is because of awakening a superpower.”
Yuan Xin stared at the white crystal in his hand, his heart pounding.
He couldn’t believe it—maybe he had a chance to awaken a superpower like so many others had.
His fever had been driving him crazy for days, and now, finally, he might know why.
With a deep breath, he placed his hand on the crystal, feeling its cool surface against his palm.
For a few moments, nothing happened.
The crystal remained the same—pure white, without even a hint of color. Yuan Xin frowned, his excitement fading a little.
“Uh… should it be doing something by now?” he asked, glancing at Huo Ning, who stood next to him, watching closely.
“Give it a minute,” Huo Ning said, though her tone wasn’t too hopeful.
She crossed her arms, her eyes fixed on the crystal.
Yuan Xin closed his eyes and focused, trying to imagine the power flowing inside him.
He pictured the crystal lighting up, changing color, and showing some kind of result.
But nothing happened.
Minutes passed, and the crystal remained completely white.
Yuan Xin opened his eyes, his heart sinking. “It’s… not working, is it?”
Huo Ning sighed softly.
“It’s not. If you had awakened any power, the crystal would’ve changed color by now.”
Yuan Xin’s shoulders slumped, and he pulled his hand away from the crystal.
Disappointment hit him hard. He had really thought… maybe… he had some kind of power. But now it was clear—he didn’t.
He stared at the ground, trying to hide how crushed he felt.
“I guess… I don’t have a superpower after all,” he muttered, his voice barely audible.
Huo Ning stepped forward and gently patted him on the back.
“Hey, it’s alright. Not everyone awakens a power, and that’s okay.”
Yuan Xin forced a smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes.
“Yeah… I know. I just thought maybe I could be useful, you know? Like, with everything going on, it’d be nice to have something to contribute.”
Huo Ning gave him a small smile.
“You don’t need superpowers to be useful, Yuan Xin. You’ve already been helping out a lot, even without one. Don’t let this get you down, alright?”
Yuan Xin nodded, though the disappointment still weighed heavily on him.
“I guess… but it just feels like I’m not doing enough.”
Huo Ning shook her head. “You are. Powers aren’t everything. Trust me on that.”
Su Jiyai narrowed her eyes hearing their words and frowned,
“Why are they talking as if they can’t see the slight greyish glow on the white crystal? Isn’t the color visible enough to tell that Yuan Xin is on the verge of awakening a superpower?”
On the screen, Yuan Xin still looked down, his expression full of disappointment.
He probably had no idea how close he was to actually awakening a power.
Huo Ning, still patting his back, spoke gently,
“Maybe it’s just not your time yet. Sometimes powers take longer to awaken. Don’t lose hope.”
Yuan Xin sighed. “Yeah, maybe…”
Su Jiyai rolled her eyes, muttering under her breath,
“Oh come on, just look at the crystal again. It’s glowing right there!”
But, of course, they couldn’t hear her.
[Host only you can see the glow.]
“Hm? What do you mean?”
[Though the crystal is glowing slightly, it can’t be seen until and unless one of them has enhanced supervision. To the naked human eyes, it is just a white crystal.]
“So you are telling Yuan Xin is awakening a superpower?”
