Chapter 349: Chapter 349: Overtaking
[Host are you planning to overtake the base?]
“Hm? Yes.” Su Jiyai said as if it was the most obvious thing.
“There are hardly many people of the Hua tribe left. The land has become an ownerless one. According to the new rules, as long as someone acquires the land, it becomes there. I don’t need to pay anyone money.”
[But what if people from the Hua tribe come back?]
Su Jiyai shrugged. “I already said, I’ll give them two options. They can either accept an apartment in the base as compensation, or they can leave with nothing. It’s fair.”
The system stayed quiet for a moment, then spoke again. [You really know how to handle things, Host.]
Su Jiyai took out an expansion map and marked the Hua Tribe.
Sure enough, she claimed the land without any problem.
She first started to build a security wall which would take more than 72 hours to build completely.
Su Jiyai cracked her knuckles and stretched her arms, ready to get started.
The area around the Hua Tribe was filled with zombies, but she wasn’t worried.
With her strength and fire superpower, she knew she could handle it.
As she walked through the deserted streets, a group of zombies started to shuffle towards her.
Their eyes were dull, and their bodies decayed, but they still moved fast enough to be a threat.
Su Jiyai’s face stayed calm as she raised her hand.
A small flame flickered to life in her palm, quickly growing larger as she concentrated.
“Alright, let’s get this over with,” she muttered to herself.
The first few zombies lunged at her, their arms outstretched, but Su Jiyai didn’t flinch.
She threw a wave of fire at them, and the flames engulfed the zombies in an instant. Their bodies burned up quickly, turning into ash within seconds.
The air around her smelled like smoke, but Su Jiyai didn’t mind. She was used to the smell by now.
More zombies appeared from around the corner, but instead of using her fire, Su Jiyai decided to rely on her physical strength.
She cracked her neck and sprinted toward the zombies.
With one swift punch, she sent a zombie flying backward, crashing into a wall.
Another zombie tried to grab her from behind, but Su Jiyai spun around and kicked it in the chest, sending it tumbling across the ground.
Her movements were quick and precise, and every hit landed perfectly. It didn’t take long for her to clear out the first wave of zombies.
“Too easy,” Su Jiyai said, wiping her hands on her pants.
She continued to move through the area, taking out any zombies that crossed her path.
Every once in a while, she’d use her firepower to burn down a larger group, but most of the time, she just used her fists and feet.
Her strength was incredible, and even without using her powers, she could take down zombies with a single blow.

As she worked, she noticed how quiet the area was becoming.
The sound of zombie moans had faded, replaced by the crackling of fire and the occasional thud of a body hitting the ground.
After about five hours of fighting and clearing, Su Jiyai paused to take a look at the area she had covered.
She had cleared out about a third of the Hua Tribe’s land, and the ground was littered with the remains of zombies.
Most of them were reduced to ashes, while others were lying broken and motionless.
Su Jiyai rolled her shoulders and took a deep breath.
She wasn’t tired, but she could feel the effort she’d put in. Still, she was pleased with her progress.
Clearing out the zombies was going faster than she’d expected, and soon enough, she’d have the whole area cleaned up.
“Not bad,” she said, glancing around. “At this rate, I’ll have this place cleared in no time.”
However, she stopped when she realized it was already evening.
Soon she teleported to the Hope Base.
After checking on the Hope Base’s matter, she was about to leave for the Rover Base, when she received a request from Lin Hao who wanted to meet her.
Su Jiyai was surprised. She agreed.
When Lin Hao entered the conference room, he looked in the direction of the speaker and greeted,
“Good evening Boss Su.”
Su Jiyai didn’t know if it was her illusion but she kept on feeling as if Lin Hao’s gaze was very gentle…
“Good evening, is there anything you wanted to say?”
“I have recovered my strength.” Lin Hao informed.
Su Jiyai’s eyes lit up, but suddenly he thought about the information given by the system and she asked,
“Um…so are you at level 10 now?”
“No.” Lin Hao shook his head, “Level 12.”
“Level 12? Weren’t you at level 10?” Su Jiyai asked.
Lin Hao shook his head, his mood was unexpectedly good, and he seemed patient today,
“After recovering my strength, my level increased by two levels.”
Su Jiyai blinked in surprise. “That’s impressive,” she said, trying to hide her excitement.
Lin Hao nodded, but there was a small smile on his face.
“Yeah, I guess I’ve been working hard. Thought it’d be good to tell you now that I’m fully recovered.”
Su Jiyai was impressed but didn’t let it show too much.
She leaned back in her chair and asked, “So, what do you plan to do now? With your strength back, I mean.”
Lin Hao scratched his ear, looking a bit shy. “I was hoping I could be of more use to you and the base, Boss Su.”
Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow.
“Are you some imposter?”
Lin Hao was taken aback by Su Jiyai’s words. “Huh? Why do you ask?”
“You know…real Lin Hao would have never talked in such a polite manner.”
Lin Hao remembered his previous behaviour and his expression turned serious. He stood up and bowed,
“I am sorry for my rude behavior previously.”
Su Jiyai was caught off guard by Lin Hao’s sudden apology, but she waved her hand, brushing it off. “It’s alright,” she said, her voice calm.
But Lin Hao shook his head, his expression serious.
“No, Boss Su. I behaved rudely before, and I will compensate you for that.”
Su Jiyai’s interest was piqued. She raised an eyebrow, curious.
“How do you plan to compensate me?”
Lin Hao straightened up and, with determination in his voice, said,
“I will train your soldiers for free, and I can even give pointers on how to increase cultivation quickly.”
Hearing this, Su Jiyai’s eyes brightened.
This was no small offer. Lin Hao was skilled, and his training could really help her soldiers become stronger. She crossed her arms, thinking it over for a moment.
The temptation was too great to pass up.
After a bit of thought, she nodded. “Alright, deal.”
All the dissatisfaction she had felt toward Lin Hao before seemed to disappear. His offer had changed her mind about him. He was being sincere, and that was something she could appreciate.
Lin Hao, sensing the mood had lightened, asked cautiously, “Boss Su, may I ask a question?”
Su Jiyai gave a small nod. “Go ahead.”
Lin Hao hesitated for a second, then asked, “Can you ever show your face?”
Su Jiyai was stunned by his question. It wasn’t something she expected him to ask. She stayed silent for a moment before replying in a cryptic tone,
“It’s my choice to keep my face hidden. It’s for safety reasons.”
Lin Hao, feeling like he might be pushing boundaries, asked tentatively,
“Do you have some kind of restriction?”
This time, Su Jiyai’s face turned cold. Her tone was firm and icy as she responded,
“Don’t interfere with my personal life.”
Realizing he had crossed a line, Lin Hao quickly stood up. “I apologize, Boss Su. That was out of line.”
He started to leave the conference room, but before he stepped out, he paused and turned back.
“If you ever decide to show your face to the world,” he said softly, “I hope… you’ll show it to me first.”
Su Jiyai shook her head, her voice cool and controlled.
“No, Lin Hao. If I ever decide to show my face, I know exactly who I want to show it to first. And it won’t be you.”
She was baffled as to why Lin Hao was making such strange requests.
Lin Hao felt a pang in his chest but didn’t say anything more.
He gave a slight bow before leaving the room, the door closing softly behind him.
As Su Jiyai sat back in her control room, her mind drifted to the person she would show her face to, if ever. Her fingers lightly traced the edge of her mask, but she quickly pushed the thought aside.
Qin Feng was busy…he didn’t even pass any message to Lin Hao showing how busy he was.
There was no point in dwelling on it now. She had other matters to attend to.
