Chapter 361: Chapter 361: Mutated Plant
[Host, there are no zombies inside the Hua tribe, but a strange thing.]
“Strange entity? Where?” Su Jiyai asked in a cautious voice. She didn’t rush to take action.
[It’s a mutated plant…in comparison to a zombie, it has power similar to that of a level 7 zombie.]
Su Jiyai frowned. She instantly took out all of her SSS-Rank equipment and asked,
“What are the chances of winning against that mutated plant with the equipment on?”
[Host, around 99%. That mutated plant is in a dormant state.]
Su Jiyai’s heart pounded in her chest as she assessed the situation.
A mutated plant with the power equivalent to a level 7 zombie was not something she could afford to underestimate, dormant or not.
[Host, would you like me to provide detailed information on the mutated plant’s abilities?]
“Go ahead,” she said, her voice steady, though her eyes remained sharp, scanning the horizon.
[The mutated plant appears to have a combination of constricting vines and toxic spores. It can control its surroundings by entangling its enemies, rendering them immobile, while simultaneously releasing a powerful toxin that weakens its prey.]
Su Jiyai’s grip tightened around her dagger.
“I need to take it down quickly,” she muttered, more to herself than to the system.
[Agreed, Host. Its weak point is likely the core, located deep within its center.]
“Understood.” Her plan formed swiftly in her mind.
She would hit fast and hard, aiming for the core before the plant could fully awaken and use its abilities.
She soon reached a clearing where the mutated plant lay dormant.
It was massive, its vines coiled around the ground in a seemingly chaotic mess, though there was an underlying structure to it, as if the plant were lying in wait, prepared to strike at any moment.
With a swift motion, she launched herself forward, her dagger slicing through the air with deadly precision.
The first vine was cut in half before it even had a chance to react.
A hiss escaped from the plant as its tendrils recoiled, but Su Jiyai didn’t stop. She charged toward the core, her movements fluid and swift.
Just as she was within striking distance of the core, the ground beneath her feet trembled. The plant had awakened.
Its vines shot out in all directions, trying to ensnare her, but Su Jiyai was faster. She sidestepped the attack, slashing through another vine as she dodged.
Toxic spores began to fill the air, the smell thick and nauseating.
Su Jiyai held her breath and conjured a barrier of fire around her, burning away the spores before they could reach her.
The heat intensified, the flames dancing around her like a protective shield.
But the plant wasn’t giving up. More vines lashed out, their movements erratic, but still calculated enough to try and corner her.
Su Jiyai used her fire to down each vine.
The battle continued for the next 2 hours before Su Jiyai burned down the entire tree.

Once the flames settled, Su Jiyai carefully dug out the crystal and held it in her hand.
She was mesmerized by its beauty.
“Beautiful.” She muttered under her breath.
[Host! You have hit a jackpot!]
“Hm?” Su Jiyai asked in confusion.
Suddenly, a strange sensation shot through her body.
A warmth, different from anything she’d felt before, surged through her veins.
She gasped, stumbling back a step, her hand still clutching the crystal.
“What… what’s going on?” Su Jiyai asked, her voice shaky as the warmth spread, filling her with a strange energy.
[Host, you’ve just awakened the plant element.]
Su Jiyai’s eyes widened in shock.
“Really? But how?”
[Host, it’s rare, but not impossible. The crystal you just absorbed comes from a powerful mutated plant. Its essence must have triggered your latent abilities. You already have the fire elements, which are closely related to five major elementals. That’s why the plant element awakened within you.]
Su Jiyai blinked, still trying to process what the system had just said.
She had never expected to awaken another element, especially one like this.
“Amazing. The trip to Hua Tribe was worth it.” Su Jiyai muttered.
A second superpower, plus her physical strength plus fire element was enough to make her feel somewhat safe.
“Let’s test it out.” Su Jiyai muttered.
“Teleport me to Hope Base. And check if there is anyone in the greenhouse?” Su Jiyai asked.
She soon felt a wave of dizziness flashing over her before she found herself in the familiar environment of Hope Base.
[Host there is no one in the greenhouse.]
Su Jiyai turned on the invisibility function of the SSS-Rank Veil and walked inside.
Soon she found a small sprout-like plan.
Su Jiyai knelt down beside the small sprout, excitement bubbling inside her.
She extended her hand toward it, focusing on speeding up its growth.
Her fingers tingled as she willed the plant to grow taller, stronger.
But nothing happened.
The sprout remained exactly as it was, barely moving, not growing an inch.
“What…?” Su Jiyai muttered in confusion.
She waved her hand again, trying once more. But still, the sprout didn’t react.
It was like her power wasn’t working at all.
[Host, you just awakened the plant element. Your level might not be high enough to control it fully yet.]
Su Jiyai sighed, her shoulders slumping.
“Right… I guess I was expecting too much too soon.” She stood up, brushing the dirt off her hands.
She had just awakened this new power; of course, it wouldn’t be that easy.
“Teleport me to the underground room,” she ordered, her voice firm again.
If she was going to strengthen this new ability, she needed to train.
In a flash, the world around her shifted, and she found herself in a dimly lit underground room.
The walls were cold, and the air was thick, but Su Jiyai didn’t care. She was determined to master her new element.
“System, give me 20 plant zombie crystals,” she commanded, standing in the center of the room.
[Understood, Host.]
