Chapter 371: Chapter 371: Wedding
Qin Feng’s fists clenched, anger bubbling inside him.
“What are you saying? You want me to marry Xuan Jin? Su Jiyai is not dead! Don’t lie to me!”
Xin Lufang’s face hardened, his eyes narrowing.
“Watch your words, Qin Feng. I’m trying to help you. Su Jiyai had no background and no connections. She’s gone. Xuan Jin is a better choice for your future.”
Qin Feng’s hands trembled with fury.
He gave a crazed smile, stepping closer to Xin Lufang.
“Kick me out if you want to! I don’t care! You think I’ll marry Xuan Jin just because she has a fancy background? No way. I love Su Jiyai, and I’ll find her, no matter what you or your ‘sources’ say.”
Xin Lufang’s expression twisted in anger.
“You’re acting like a fool, Qin Feng. Don’t let your emotions cloud your judgment!”
But Qin Feng had already turned his back on him, storming out of the office.
He didn’t care what Xin Lufang or anyone else said. Su Jiyai was out there, and he wasn’t giving up.
That evening, Qin Feng returned home, his heart heavy with despair.
He hadn’t found a single trace of Su Jiyai, and now even the base leader had given up hope.
He walked into the family home, his footsteps slow and tired.
Mrs. Qin, who was sitting in the living room, looked up as her son entered.
“Qin Feng, where’s the girl you were so excited about? You went to get her, didn’t you?” she asked, her tone calm but curious.
Qin Feng froze, his chest tightening at her question. His mother’s words hit him like a punch in the gut. His vision blurred with unshed tears as he stood in the doorway, not able to answer.
Mrs. Qin frowned, setting her teacup down. “Qin Feng, what’s going on? Why do you look like that?”
And then, it all came crashing down.
The frustration, the hopelessness, the despair he had been holding inside for so long. His knees buckled, and he collapsed onto the floor in front of her.
“I… I couldn’t find her, Mom…” he whispered, his voice shaking. “Su Jiyai… she’s gone.”
Mrs. Qin’s eyes widened in surprise.
“What do you mean she’s gone? Did something happen to her?”
Qin Feng shook his head, his tears finally spilling over.
“She went missing during a patrol… and no one has seen her since. I’ve searched everywhere… I’ve tried everything… but she’s just gone!”
Mrs. Qin’s face softened as she listened to her son’s heartbreaking confession.
“Oh, Qin Feng…”
Qin Feng’s sobs grew louder as he buried his face in his hands.
“I can’t live without her, Mom. I love her so much. I thought I could bring her home, that we could be together, but… but she’s gone!”
Mrs. Qin stood up from her chair and knelt beside her son, pulling him into a comforting embrace.

“Qin Feng, I’m so sorry… I didn’t realize it had gotten this bad…”
Qin Feng clung to his mother, his shoulders shaking with the weight of his sorrow.
“What am I supposed to do now, Mom? I can’t… I don’t know how to live without her…”
Mrs. Qin stroked his hair gently, her voice soft.
“You’re strong, my son. We’ll get through this, one way or another. Just take it one day at a time.”
Qin Feng continued to cry in his mother’s arms, the pain in his chest feeling like it would never end.
But at least, in that moment, he didn’t have to face it alone.
He barely noticed when his mother’s gentle hand moved from his shoulder to his neck, until suddenly, pain shot through him like lightning.
His eyes widened in shock, but his body went limp almost instantly.
He blinked dazedly, trying to understand what had just happened.
His mother was still holding him, but her once comforting smile had turned cold.
“I’m sorry, Qin Feng,” Mrs. Qin said softly, her voice void of the warmth he had always known. “But I had no other choice.”
Qin Feng’s breath hitched.
He tried to speak, but his mouth wouldn’t cooperate. His body was growing weaker by the second, and he couldn’t stop it.
Mrs. Qin slowly let go of him, standing up as if nothing had happened. She looked over her shoulder. “Bring him to his room and get him ready for the wedding,” she commanded calmly.
Qin Feng’s younger brother, Qin Liang, stepped into the room, his expression unreadable as he grabbed Qin Feng by the arm, pulling him to his feet.
Qin Feng tried to resist, but his strength was draining fast, and all he could do was stumble along as his brother dragged him toward his room.
“You’re such a fool, Qin Feng,” Qin Liang muttered, his voice laced with jealousy.
“If I were you, I would have married Xuan Jin the moment she showed interest. You’re playing hard to get for no reason.”
Qin Feng’s heart pounded in his chest as he tried to process what was happening.
Wedding? What wedding? His mind was a blur, and his limbs refused to cooperate.
Qin Liang continued ranting, his grip tightening on Qin Feng’s arm as he dragged him into the room.
“Do you even realize how lucky you are? Xuan Jin is beautiful, rich, and powerful. She’s way out of your league. And here you are, crying over some girl who doesn’t even have a family name worth mentioning.”
He scoffed, shaking his head. “You’re unbelievable, Qin Feng.”
Qin Feng wanted to scream, to fight back, but his body was like lead.
He could barely keep his eyes open as Qin Liang tossed him onto the bed, grabbing the wedding clothes that had been laid out.
“Get up. Let’s get you dressed,” Qin Liang said, his tone impatient.
He began pulling at Qin Feng’s clothes, changing him into the ceremonial attire with rough hands.
Qin Feng’s vision was blurry, and he could hardly move, but the anger inside him burned bright.
He was being forced into something he didn’t want, something he hated with every fiber of his being. And there was nothing he could do to stop it.
