Chapter 374: Chapter 374: Drama
Su Jin continued banging his head on the ground, as if the harder he hit, the more convincing his act would be.
Wei Xin sobbed even louder, her voice trembling as she begged Mrs. Qin again and again.
“We won’t make any trouble, we swear! Just return Su Jiyai to us! Please!”
Mrs. Qin’s hands clenched into fists at her sides, her nails digging into her palms. This whole scene was humiliating, and worse yet, it was happening in front of Xuan Pei.
She glared down at Su Jin and Wei Xin, her fury boiling inside her.
Her voice was ice-cold as she looked down at Su Jin and Wei Xin, who were still groveling on the floor.
“I don’t know who you both are and more importantly, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said firmly, her sharp eyes narrowing.
“I don’t know any woman named Su Jiyai.”
Su Jin stopped banging his head for a moment, his face filled with fake shock, but then he started crying even harder.
“Mrs. Qin, please! You must know! Qin Feng loved Su Jiyai! You… you did something to her! Please, just give her back!” he cried, his voice shaky and desperate.
Wei Xin, still clinging to Mrs. Qin’s dress, sobbed louder, her tears soaking the fabric.
“Please, Madam Qin, don’t lie! We know the truth! Just return our daughter to us, and we’ll leave! We won’t cause trouble!”
Mrs. Qin’s patience was wearing thin. Her face turned even colder, and she jerked her dress away from Wei Xin’s grip, stepping back.
“I have no idea what nonsense you’re talking about,” she repeated, her voice growing harsher.
“If your daughter is missing, that has nothing to do with me or my family. Now leave before you make even bigger fools of yourselves.”
But Su Jin wasn’t about to give up so easily. He crawled forward, still on his knees, looking up at Mrs. Qin with pleading eyes.
“Please, Mrs. Qin, don’t be like this! We know you’re hiding something! You just don’t want Qin Feng to marry Su Jiyai because you think she’s not good enough for him!”
His words were starting to sound desperate, but also like he was trying to stir up more trouble.
Wei Xin quickly jumped in, wiping away her fake tears as she looked up at Mrs. Qin with pitiful eyes.
“Yes! That’s it, isn’t it? You don’t want her because she’s from a poor family! But we won’t ask for money, we swear! We just want our daughter back!”
A glint appeared in Mrs. Qin’s eyes and she bent down. She whispered in a voice only two of them could hear and said,
“I will give you 50 million federal coins. Shut up and leave.”
Wei Xin’s eyes shone, but she continued,
“100 million federal coins. No more, no less.”
Mrs. Qin’s face darkened as she glared at Wei Xin. Her lips pressed into a thin line, clearly furious at the audacity. But she didn’t lose her composure; instead, she leaned in closer, her voice dangerously low.
“Fifty million is more than generous,” Mrs. Qin hissed. “Take it, or you leave with nothing.”
Wei Xin’s eyes darted to Su Jin, who was still pretending to cry on the floor.
For a moment, she hesitated, but then she straightened herself up, wiping her fake tears away as if making a tough decision.
“Fine,” Wei Xin finally muttered her tone now business-like.
“We’ll take the 50 million, but you better send it right away. We don’t want any tricks.”

Mrs. Qin straightened up, a satisfied smirk creeping across her face.
“Of course,” she said smoothly. “You’ll get the money as soon as you’re out of my sight.”
Su Jin quickly got up from the floor, his act of desperation disappearing in an instant.
He nodded eagerly, rubbing his head as if trying to look grateful.
“Thank you, Mrs. Qin. We… we appreciate your generosity. We’ll leave now, no more trouble.”
Mrs. Qin didn’t even bother responding.
She waved them off dismissively as if they were nothing more than an annoying fly.
Wei Xin grabbed Su Jin’s arm, and they hurried toward the door, their fake sobs gone, replaced with hurried whispers about how they’d spend the money.
As the door closed behind them, Mrs. Qin let out a long breath. The humiliation was over, and with them gone, she could finally focus on more important things.
But Xuan Pei, who had been watching the entire scene silently, crossed his arms and frowned.
“I see you’ve dealt with that… efficiently,” he said, his voice cool.
“But tell me, Mrs. Qin, why would you pay them off if you had nothing to do with Su Jiyai’s disappearance?”
Mrs. Qin’s smile froze on her face for just a split second before she quickly recovered.
“It’s simple,” she said, her voice smooth as silk.
“I paid them to leave because they were causing a scene. It has nothing to do with Su Jiyai. I don’t know what lies they’ve been told, but I won’t let anyone ruin my family’s reputation with baseless rumors.”
Xuan Pei didn’t look entirely convinced, but he nodded slowly.
“I hope, for your sake, that’s the truth,” he said coldly.
“Ah? Where is Qin Feng?” Xuan Jin shouted.
Everyone turned around and found that Qin Feng had vanished.
Mrs. Qin gritted her teeth and checked the time.
An hour has passed. The effect of the medicine had definitely worn off.
Yet…how did Qin Feng vanish?
Either he had invisibility or teleportation superpower, but as far as she knows, Qin Feng only had thunder and fire superpowers!
Xuan Pei’s face darkened and he loudly ordered,
“Jin! Come here!”
Xuan Jin in a daze walked up to Xuan Pei. Her body was trembling and her eyes had turned red.
Xuan Pei looked at Mrs. Qin with a dissatisfied expression and said,
“If your son doesn’t want to marry my daughter, just say so. What does he mean by suddenly vanishing? My daughter is not a broken rag, that she dying to marry your son!”
