Chapter 376: Chapter 376: Trap
Qin Feng was hiding in a small, secret apartment, his breathing steady as he gathered his thoughts.
It had been a rough few days, and his body was still recovering from the stress of being hunted by his own family.
He sent out his loyal subordinates to gather information, and now, as they returned with news, his heart raced.
“Su Jiyai’s body… in the lake near the old warehouse, 10 kilometers away from Gate 19?” he muttered to himself, a surge of panic hitting him.
Without wasting a second, Qin Feng grabbed his gear and rushed out.
He couldn’t believe it. Su Jiyai… the girl he had promised to protect… was she really dead?
His heart thudded in his chest as he sped toward the lake.
When he arrived at the lake, the sight that greeted him made his blood run cold.
His parents, Mrs. Qin and Mr. Qin, were there. And beside them stood his brother, Qin Liang, smiling smugly.
It wasn’t just a simple family gathering.
Ten psychic superhumans circled them, their expressions as cold as the air around them.
Qin Feng clenched his fists.
‘This isn’t right… why are they here? What do they want from me? Are they here fro marriage? Why are they so desperate?’
He tried to remain calm, but the rage in his heart was growing.
“Ah, you’ve come, brother,” Qin Liang said, a twisted grin on his face. He stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with something dark.
“But don’t worry. We aren’t here to force you into the marriage with Xuan Jin. No, no. We’re here for something much more important—your face.”
Qin Feng’s eyes widened in horror.
‘My face? What is he talking about?’
His heart started pounding, and his instinct screamed at him to run. Just as he turned to flee, the psychic superhumans made their move, surrounding him, freezing him in place.
“No!” Qin Feng shouted, struggling with all his might, but his body wouldn’t respond.
His limbs were locked by invisible forces, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t break free.
“Stop fighting, brother,” Qin Liang said with a smirk. “It’s useless. You can’t escape.”
Suddenly, a man in a black cloak appeared from the shadows, his presence sending shivers down Qin Feng’s spine.
This man was different. Dark, ominous. The skin crafter.
“Do it,” Qin Liang ordered, his voice dripping with anticipation.
The man stepped forward, his hands glowing with a sinister energy.
Qin Feng’s entire body shook as he realized what was about to happen.
“No… no, you can’t do this!” Qin Feng’s voice was filled with desperation, his eyes darting toward his parents.
“Mother! Father! Stop this! I’m your son!”
But Mrs. Qin’s face was cold, and she didn’t say a word.

Mr. Qin stood beside her, arms crossed, glaring at Qin Feng with disappointment.
“Son?” Mrs. Qin finally spoke, her voice sharp.
“You are nothing but a failure. We’ve given you everything, yet you’ve disgraced this family again and again.”
“Do you think we care anymore, Feng?” Mr. Qin added, his tone bitter.
“All you’ve ever done is bring trouble. If you won’t help this family by marrying Xuan Jin, then at least your face can serve a purpose.”
Qin Feng’s heart shattered at their words. How could his own parents turn on him like this?
“Mom, Dad, please… don’t let them do this to me! I… I’ll fix things! I promise, I’ll—”
But his words were cut off as the skin crafter’s hands touched his face.
An unimaginable pain shot through him as the skin was painfully peeled from his body.
His vision blurred as blood dripped down his cheeks, mixing with his tears.
“No… no!” Qin Feng screamed, his voice hoarse with agony.
He couldn’t move, couldn’t fight back. His entire face was being ripped away, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
Qin Liang, meanwhile, watched with satisfaction as the process continued.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the skin crafter finished his work, holding up Qin Feng’s face like a prize.
Qin Liang eagerly took it and fixed it onto his own face.
The transformation was instant—he now looked exactly like Qin Feng, as if nothing had ever happened.
“Perfect,” Qin Liang said with a cheerful grin, admiring his new appearance in a nearby reflection.
“It’s like I’m a new man.”
Mrs. Qin and Mr. Qin exchanged glances, relief washing over them.
“Smart move, Liang,” Mr. Qin said, patting him on the back.
“You’ve saved this family. Now we can go ahead with the engagement without any issues.”
Mrs. Qin nodded, her tone more relaxed now. “You’ve done well. Now Xuan Jin will never know the difference.”
As they praised Qin Liang, Qin Feng lay on the ground, his body trembling in pain, his face nothing but a raw, bloody mess.
He felt himself slipping away, the agony too much to bear. He was losing consciousness.
But before everything went dark, Qin Liang approached him once more, kneeling beside his broken brother.
“You’re going to die from the pain soon anyway, so why don’t we make good use of you while you’re still alive?” Qin Liang sneered, his voice full of malice.
“We might as well take that superpower crystal inside your head.”
“No… no!” Qin Feng’s voice shook with fear. He couldn’t let this happen.
He couldn’t die like this! Not when Su Jiyai was still out there. Not when he hadn’t saved her yet. Not when he hasn’t given his answer to her…
As Qin Liang reached for him, something inside Qin Feng snapped.
Suddenly, his body pulsed with a force unlike anything he had ever felt before.
Power surged through him, and a shockwave of energy exploded from his body, sending everyone around him flying backward.
“What… what’s happening?!” Qin Liang shouted, scrambling to his feet.
Qin Feng’s body convulsed as the energy within him grew stronger and stronger. His mind raced as he realized what was happening.
A new power… I’m… I’m awakening a new power!
