Chapter 396: Chapter 396: Snake
Qin Feng laughed when he saw Su Jiyai motioning for him to bend down.
He leaned closer, his face right in front of hers, waiting for the kiss.
Su Jiyai stared at him, her blue eyes narrowing. She reached out with her paw, gently pushing his forehead back.
“Not so fast, mister,” she said, sticking out her tongue playfully. “You think you can just ask for a kiss like that?”
Qin Feng grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “Why not? You love me, right?”
Su Jiyai blinked, her heart skipping a beat again. She looked away, pretending to be interested in something else.
“I… I never said that,” she muttered, her tail swishing behind her, betraying her again.
Qin Feng laughed softly, leaning in even closer until their noses almost touched. “You don’t have to say it. I can tell.”
Su Jiyai felt her face heat up. She opened her mouth to say something smart, but before she could, Qin Feng gave her a quick peck on the cheek.
“Gotcha!” he said, pulling back with a satisfied grin.
Su Jiyai’s eyes went wide, and she felt her heart race faster. “Hey! You sneaky—”
Qin Feng chuckled and quickly went back to cooking, leaving Su Jiyai standing on the counter, her face bright red which wasn’t visible due to her blue fur.
“What were you thinking about earlier?” Qin Feng asked.
Su Jiyai paused for a while before briefly explaining everything to Qin Feng. Of course, she didn’t talk about her involvement at all.
It took a while before Qin Feng replied,
“So are worried that Su Rong would attack you?”
Su Jiyai shook her head,
“No. I am in my wolf form. She would never be able to guess…until and unless…she has a dream about me.”
Qin Feng chuckled,
“Don’t worry. I will make sure that she will never suspect you.”
“Are you sure?” Su Jiyai asked curiously.
Qin Feng nodded with confidence.
…………………………………….
That very same night.
Su Rong went to bed with Fu Wei.
She closed her eyes, exhausted from the day’s stress.
As soon as she fell asleep, a familiar nightmare returned.
She found herself kneeling in front of Su Jiyai, begging for mercy.
Su Jiyai stood tall, her eyes cold and unforgiving.
No matter how much Su Rong pleaded, Su Jiyai just turned her back on her, walking away without a word.

Su Rong jolted in her sleep, her body tense.
But the dream wasn’t over.
The scene shifted.
Now she was back in her bed, but something was different.
Her room felt cold and eerie.
She looked around and spotted a shadow slithering across the floor.
Her heart pounded as the shadow grew closer, and when it came into the moonlight, she realized it was a snake—a large, menacing one.
But this wasn’t just any snake. It had strange, sharp blue eyes, and as it coiled around her bedpost, it began to change.
Slowly, the snake morphed into the figure of Su Jiyai. Su Rong’s eyes widened in horror.
The snake had become Su Jiyai, who stood at the foot of her bed, watching her closely, not saying a word.
In the dream, Su Jiyai wasn’t alone.
The snake version of her slithered around the room, creeping toward Fu Wei, who was sleeping beside Su Rong.
Then it moved toward the door, gliding silently down the hallway.
Su Rong’s heart raced as she watched the snake keep a close eye on Wei Xin and Su Han, too, like it was planning something evil.
Suddenly, Su Jiyai turned her sharp gaze back on Su Rong.
The dream felt too real.
Su Rong felt a chill run down her spine, and she bolted awake, her heart pounding in her chest.
She sat up quickly, gasping for breath. For a moment, she thought she saw a shadow at the end of her bed, but when she blinked, it was gone.
She nudged Fu Wei, shaking his shoulder to wake him up.
“Wei, wake up!” she whispered urgently.
Fu Wei groaned, rubbing his eyes as he sat up.
“What’s wrong, Rong?” he asked, still half-asleep.
Su Rong grabbed his arm, her voice trembling.
“I had another dream…but this time, it was different. I saw Su Jiyai. She—she turned into a snake! She was watching us, Wei! Watching you, my mom, and Su Han too!
I think…I think she’s still alive! Maybe she gained some new power and can transform into a snake now.”
Fu Wei blinked, now fully awake. “What? A snake?”
Su Rong nodded, her eyes wide with fear.
“It felt so real, Wei. I think it’s a warning. My dreams are always precognitive, you know that! We have to find her. She’s out there, planning something. I can feel it.”
Fu Wei sighed, though he was starting to take her words seriously.
“Alright, if you think it’s that important, we’ll find her. I’ll help you search for her. But let’s not panic just yet, okay?”
Su Rong nodded, but deep down, the fear gnawed at her.
As a result for the next few days, Su Rong and Fu Wei went on a search mission.
Finally, they found the snake whom Su Rong had seen in her dream.
“That’s it! That’s the snake I saw in my dream!” she whispered, grabbing Fu Wei’s arm tightly.
Fu Wei squinted, trying to get a better look.
The snake was big—much bigger than any normal snake. Its scales shimmered in the sunlight, almost like it was glowing.
But what really stood out were its eyes—sharp, blue, and piercing.
“Stay back,” Fu Wei whispered as he stepped forward, drawing his sword.
The snake hissed, coiling around a tree, its eyes locked on them.
“Su Jiyai… is that you?” Su Rong called out, her voice trembling.
She wasn’t sure what she expected, but there was no response.
The snake just watched them, its long body slowly moving closer, inch by inch.
Fu Wei tightened his grip on the sword, but Su Rong stepped forward, her hands shaking.
“Wait, Wei. I have some questions that I want to ask.”
The snake stopped moving, its blue eyes narrowing as if it understood her words.
For a moment, everything was still. The only sound was the wind rustling through the trees.
Suddenly, the snake lunged forward, its mouth open wide, fangs glinting in the sunlight.
Su Rong screamed, stumbling back, but before the snake could reach her, Fu Wei swung his sword, cutting through the air with a sharp whistle.
The snake stopped dead in its tracks, just inches from Su Rong’s feet.
It reared back, hissing angrily before slithering away into the bushes, disappearing from sight.
Su Rong’s legs felt like jelly. She fell to her knees, gasping for breath.
“That was definitely Su Jiyai!”
Only Su Jiyai would hold so much hostility towards her.
“We have to stop her,” Su Rong whispered, her voice barely audible.
Fu Wei nodded.
“Yeah, but how? She’s not just a normal snake… She’s got powers, and if she really is Su Jiyai, this could get dangerous.”
Su Rong bit her lip, her mind racing.
“There has to be a way. We just need to outsmart her. Maybe… maybe we can set a trap?”
Fu Wei raised an eyebrow.
“A trap? For a snake that can change form? How are we supposed to do that?”
Su Rong thought for a moment before an idea came to her.
“We could lure her out. I know she’s after me—it’s personal. So if I make myself an easy target, she’ll come after me.”
Fu Wei’s eyes widened.
“No way, Rong. That’s too dangerous. What if she actually catches you this time?”
Su Rong shook her head. “It’s the only way. She won’t stop until I’m dead. We have to take the risk.”
Fu Wei sighed, knowing Su Rong had made up her mind.
“Okay, but we’re doing this my way. I’ll set up some traps around the area. You just need to keep her busy until we can strike.”
Su Rong agreed, though her heart was pounding in her chest.
She knew it was risky, but it was the only way to get rid of Su Jiyai once and for all.
Qin Feng and Su Jiyai who were invisible and watching the entire scene, couldn’t help but shake their head.
Su Jiyai sighed and glanced at Qin Feng. “Seriously, does she think I’m that dumb?”
Qin Feng chuckled, shaking his head.
“She’s really got no idea, huh? She’s all about these silly traps, but we’re not falling for that.”
Su Jiyai nodded.
“Yeah, and if I really wanted to, I could end this whole thing easily. But… where’s the fun in that?”
Qin Feng grinned. “You do love playing with her, don’t you?”
Su Jiyai shrugged, her blue tail flicking behind her.
“It’s like watching a bad movie. You know it’s awful, but you just can’t look away.”
They both went silent for a moment, watching as Su Rong and Fu Wei scrambled around, setting up their traps.
