Chapter 398: Chapter 398: War?
Yuan Xin’s heart pounded as the room around him kept shifting.
The walls blurred, and it felt like everything was moving in slow motion. He looked at Huo Ning, his eyes wide with fear.
“I-I don’t know what’s happening!” he stammered, his voice shaky.
Huo Ning squeezed his hand tightly. “Stay calm, Yuan Xin. You’re doing great. Just focus!”
Yuan Xin closed his eyes for a second and tried to concentrate, but the strange feeling inside him grew stronger.
It was like a wave of energy was crashing through him, and he didn’t know how to control it.
Then, suddenly, everything stopped. The walls stopped shimmering, the air settled, and the room became quiet.
But something was different.
Yuan Xin blinked in confusion.
All around him, scattered across the floor, were guns, rifles, and all sorts of heavy artillery.
His jaw dropped. “H-Huo Ning! Do you see this?” he asked, pointing at the ground.
Huo Ning looked around, her eyes scanning the room.
But she saw nothing unusual. “See what?” she asked, her eyebrows furrowed.
“The guns! The weapons! They’re everywhere!” Yuan Xin cried out, looking down at the pile of weapons that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
Huo Ning’s face turned pale. “Yuan Xin, there’s nothing there.”
She even started to think if Yuan Xin had developed some mental illness instead of a superpower.
Yuan Xin stared at her, confused.
How could she not see it? There were guns lying all around him—some small, some big—and even a huge bazooka in the corner.
He hesitated for a moment, then reached down and picked up a rifle.
As soon as his hand wrapped around the cold metal, the gun became real, shimmering into existence right in front of Huo Ning’s eyes.
Her mouth dropped open in shock. “W-what? Where did that come from?!”
“I told you! It’s been here the whole time!”
Yuan Xin said, holding up the rifle. He looked around the room again. The other guns were still there, waiting for him to pick them up.
Su Jiyai’s voice came through the speakers.
“Yuan Xin, what are you holding?”
“A gun!” Yuan Xin replied, feeling a mix of excitement and fear.
“There are guns and weapons all over the room, but only I can see them. When I pick one up, it becomes real.”
There was a brief pause from Su Jiyai, and then she said,
“Yuan Xin, I think you’ve just awakened your superpower. You can see things that others can’t. Guns, weapons—they’re invisible until you touch them.”
Huo Ning’s eyes widened. “That’s… incredible!”

Yuan Xin swallowed hard, still holding the rifle tightly.
“Boss Su…what does this mean?” he asked, his voice trembling. “Why can I see these weapons, but Huo Ning can’t?”
Su Jiyai, on the other hand, was confused herself.
“System, what type of superpower is it?”
[Host, would you like to buy a white crystal and get to know it?]
Su Jiyai paused before calmly saying,
“No. I figured it out.”
[You did?]
“Yes.” Su Jiyai smiled. “After staying with you for so long and visiting many dimensions, I have a general idea of what his power is.”
Su Jiyai’s calm voice echoed in the room again.
“Yuan Xin, it seems like your ability is tied to your perception. You see things that others can’t, and by interacting with them, you make them real.
In this case, it’s weapons, but we don’t know if that’s the limit yet. There could be more to your power than just summoning weapons.”
Yuan Xin felt a chill run down his spine.
“More?” The idea that his power might not stop at just weapons was both thrilling and terrifying. If he could bring weapons into reality, what else could he materialize?
Huo Ning stepped back slightly, her expression thoughtful.
“Yuan Xin, if Su Jiyai is right, you need to figure out the scope of your ability. What else can you see? What else can you make real?”
Yuan Xin glanced around the room again.
The guns were still there, scattered across the floor like some kind of twisted armory. His gaze drifted to the far corner of the room, where the bazooka still lay, waiting.
“Should I try it?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Huo Ning nodded slowly. “I think you should. If you can control this, it could be incredibly useful.”
Yuan Xin hesitated for a moment, then took a deep breath and walked toward the bazooka.
His heart pounded in his chest as he crouched down and extended his hand toward the massive weapon.
The instant his fingers brushed the cold metal, the bazooka shimmered and solidified, just like the rifle before it.
Huo Ning gasped audibly, her eyes wide with disbelief. “You… you did it again.”
Yuan Xin lifted the bazooka, feeling its weight in his hands.
It was massive, far heavier than the rifle, but just as real. He stared at it for a long moment before lowering it to the floor. “This is… insane,” he muttered.
[Host, you have become smart.]
“Don’t even think about suppressing my intelligence.” Su Jiyai said calmly.
……………
The air inside the ruined tower was thick with the scent of decay. Dark clouds covered the sky, making the world outside look lifeless and cold.
Inside, Narak sat on his bone throne, his red eyes glowing faintly as he finished his cultivation.
The energy in the air was restless, twisting and moving around him like invisible smoke.
Suddenly, he frowned. Something felt wrong. The energy in the Red Zone had weakened.
Without opening his eyes, he called out in a deep, commanding voice, “Come.”
A moment later, the large metal door creaked open.
A familiar zombie stepped inside, his head lowered in respect.
His pale, lifeless skin twitched slightly as he felt the heavy pressure of Narak’s gaze.
“My King,” the zombie said, bowing deeply.
Narak’s eyes snapped open, glowing like burning coals.
“Why has the energy level in the Red Zone decreased?” His voice was sharp and cold.
The subordinate flinched but quickly answered, “My King… it is because of Boss Su.”
Narak’s frown deepened. “Boss Su?” His voice carried an edge of danger. “Explain.”
The zombie gulped before speaking. “The Hua Tribe… it has been overtaken.”
For a moment, the room fell silent. A heavy pressure filled the air.
Narak’s red eyes darkened. “And when were you planning to inform me of this?” His voice was dangerously low.
The subordinate trembled.
“My King… we… we tried to wake you from your cultivation, but you wouldn’t wake up. No matter what we did, you remained in your deep state of cultivation.”
Narak’s gaze bore into the trembling zombie, making him feel as if his body would collapse under the weight of that single stare.
“You mean to tell me,” Narak said slowly, his voice laced with cold fury, “that while I was cultivating, Boss Su took over the Hua Tribe… and no one stopped her?”
The zombie lowered his head further, not daring to look into Narak’s eyes.
“Forgive me, my King… we tried, but… we failed. As for Rover base…the people from Rover Base never left their base. We could not kill any of them.”
Narak’s fingers tightened around the armrest of his throne. “Explain.”
The zombie nodded quickly, rushing to explain.
“The humans inside Rover Base… they hunt zombies from within their walls. The metallic blue wall around the base still stands, and we cannot go near it without being electrocuted.
They have archers, psychics, and elementalists. They kill our kind from a distance and use psychic abilities to take away the crystals.”
A deep, eerie silence filled the room.
Narak’s red eyes burned brighter, his face filled with dark rage.
He leaned forward slightly. “And what do we know of this ‘Boss Su’?”
The zombie hesitated for a moment before answering,
“We have learned that Boss Su is an old woman… and she is inside Rover Base.”
The silence that followed was heavy.
Then, Narak slowly stood up from his throne.
The movement was small, but it was enough to send waves of pressure through the room. The floor beneath him cracked slightly under the weight of his energy.
“It is time,” Narak said in a cold, merciless tone. “We attack.”
The zombie’s eyes widened in shock.
“M-My King… Are we truly going to attack Rover Base in full force? Are… are you going to lead us yourself?”
For a moment, there was no answer.
Then, Narak turned his glowing red eyes toward the zombie. Just one glance.
The moment the zombie met Narak’s gaze, his body went stiff.
A terrifying pressure crushed down on him, and before he could react, his vision went black. His body fell to the ground with a heavy thud.
He had fainted on the spot.
Narak sighed softly, shaking his head. “I do not like to be questioned.”
Then, without another word, he stepped past the unconscious zombie and walked toward the door.
The time for waiting was over.
It was time for war.
