Chapter 408: Chapter 408: Communicate
Su Jiyai agreed.
The moment she closed her eyes, she fell asleep.
Qin Feng took off his shoes and lay in the bed with her. As he caressed her fur, he muttered in a voice only the two of them could hear,
“Don’t worry, you are not alone anymore.”
…………………..
The next day.
When Su Jiyai woke up, 9 hours had passed.
It was almost evening. Seeing that she was all alone, Su Jiyai asked the system,
“Did you write the letter and teleport it?”
[Yes, host.]
“Did Narak see it?”
[Yes, host.]
Su Jiyai was excited and asked, “What was his response?”
[No response.]
…………….
Narak sat in his throne-like chair inside his dark lair, holding the letter Su Jiyai had sent in his hand.
His pale fingers gently traced the edges of the paper, treating it as if it were some kind of priceless antique.
His red eyes glowed in the dim light as he stared at it, deep in thought.
After a few moments, he looked at his subordinate standing nearby—a tall, imposing zombie with dark, rotten skin.
“What is written on this?” Narak asked in his low, raspy voice, holding the letter up.
The subordinate zombie shifted uncomfortably, lowering his head in shame.
“Lord Narak… I—I don’t know,” the zombie stammered.
Narak was silent for a long, tense moment. His gaze shifted back to the letter, then to his subordinate.
“Capture a live human,” Narak ordered calmly, his voice holding a deadly edge. “One who can read.”
The subordinate immediately straightened up, nodding quickly.
“Yes, my lord. I will find one.” Without wasting another second, the zombie hurried out of the lair.
Five hours later.
The door to Narak’s chamber creaked open, and his subordinate returned, dragging a trembling man behind him.
The human man, pale with fear, stumbled and fell to the floor before Narak, his hands tied behind his back.
His wide eyes darted around the room, full of terror as he realized where he was.

“My lord,” the subordinate zombie said, bowing slightly. “I have brought someone.”
Narak’s glowing red eyes fixed on the human, and with a flick of his wrist, he tossed the letter in front of him.
The paper fluttered to the ground near the man’s face.
“Read it,” Narak commanded coldly.
The man blinked, confused, but when the subordinate zombie pointed at the letter, realization dawned on him.
His whole body trembled as he picked up the letter with shaky hands.
Sweat dripped down his forehead as he nervously glanced at Narak, who watched him with a deadly calm expression.
“I—I’ll read it! P-Please don’t hurt me!” the man begged, his voice trembling as much as his hands.
Narak said nothing, only leaned back in his seat, waiting.
The man cleared his throat, his voice quivering. “Th-the letter says…”
He began to read aloud, stuttering as he went, every word filled with fear,
“To the great zombie king Narak… We… we offer you a chance for peace and… and an alliance. We know… we know what you want… and we can give it to you. Meet with us, and we will discuss… terms that could benefit us both.”
As the man finished reading, he looked up at Narak with pleading eyes, hoping his obedience would spare his life.
Narak sat silently for a moment, absorbing the words. His expression was unreadable, and the room seemed to grow colder.
“What do you think they can give me?” Narak asked, his voice low, almost thoughtful.
The subordinate zombie looked at him nervously, not knowing how to respond.
The human, still kneeling on the ground, dared to speak again, his voice weak, “I—I don’t know what are you saying. All I can hear are growls… But please, I—”
“Enough,” Narak interrupted, his gaze shifting to the subordinate. “Keep him alive for now.”
The subordinate zombie nodded, grabbed the human, and pulled him out of the room.
“Stop.” Narak suddenly said.
The subordinate instantly stopped. Narak tapped his finger on the throne and ordered,
“Give a response back to Boss Su. Ask her if she can give me 100 humans as a sacrifice, and then I can think of meeting with her.”
The subordinate looked at Narak with a blank expression and said hesitantly,
“Ugh…we have a problem…this human can’t understand us…so how will he write a letter for us? And…we don’t remember human language anymore, so we can’t write letters on our own.”
Narak’s red eyes narrowed as he processed his subordinate’s words.
The room fell into a tense silence. He tapped his finger on the armrest of his throne, deep in thought.
After a moment, he leaned forward, his gaze sharp.
“Then find another solution,” Narak said coldly. “I want a response sent back to Boss Su, and I want it done quickly.”
The subordinate shifted nervously, scratching at his decaying skin. “But, my lord, how can we—?”
“Figure it out!” Narak’s voice cut through the air, leaving no room for argument. The subordinate winced but nodded quickly.
“Yes, my lord. I—I will figure it out.”
With that, the subordinate dragged the terrified human out of the chamber, his mind racing for a solution.
He needed to send a letter back to Su Jiyai, but without being able to write in human language, it seemed impossible.
The human, still shaking with fear, glanced nervously at the zombie as they walked down the dark corridor. “Wh-what are you going to do to me?” he stammered.
The zombie grunted, not bothering to answer.
As they passed through the fortress’s halls, the subordinate’s mind worked furiously.
He didn’t know how to write a letter, and this human was useless if he couldn’t understand them. There had to be another way.
The human suddenly showed him various signs, and the zombie halted, fearing the human was already infected.
But to his surprise, the human was in fact, trying to communicate with him through signs. An idea sparks in the subordinate’s mind, and he slaps his hand,
“Uh! Why did I think of that earlier!”
