Chapter 427: Chapter 427: Pills
“I-I told you, it’s fine!” the scamming woman stammered, desperately trying to back away. Her dramatic act was falling apart right in front of everyone.
The blue-haired woman raised an eyebrow, not buying her excuse for a second.
“No, I insist. Let’s make sure you’re taken care of properly. It’s the least we can do after what happened.”
The crowd started murmuring, their tone now skeptical toward the scamming woman.
“Why is she so against the treatment if she’s really hurt?”
“Yeah, something doesn’t add up here.”
Realizing she was backed into a corner, the woman finally let out an exaggerated sigh and muttered,
“Fine, fine. I don’t need the money. I’ll just leave.”
But before she could leave, the blue-haired woman held the scamming lady’s hand and ordered her medical robot,
“Scan her and tell whether she had any problems or not.”
The medical robot beeped, its little lights flickering as it scanned the scamming woman’s hand. The crowd watched closely, waiting for the result.
After a few seconds, the robot made a soft “ding” sound and said,
“No significant injuries detected. No dislocations or fractures. Minor skin bruising consistent with light contact.”
The blue-haired woman smirked, her eyes twinkling with satisfaction.
“Well, looks like you’re just fine after all,” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
The scamming woman’s face turned bright red.
She looked around at the crowd, who now seemed unimpressed and annoyed.
“Uh… I-I must’ve exaggerated a bit,” she stammered, backing away slowly. “I’ll just go now.”
“Well, that is not a good idea.” Su Jiyai smiled and interrupted,
“You tried to scam me and even asked for 100,000 federal coins if this kind lady wasn’t here, I would have been scammed of my money under the pressure of the public.”
The scamming woman froze, her eyes widening as Su Jiyai’s words sank in. The crowd, already suspicious, started whispering again, their murmurs growing louder.
“Now that I think about it…if something like that would have happened with me…I would definitely be angry!”
“Same!”
“She really thought she could get away with that?”
The scammer’s face turned even redder, and her body tensed up. She nervously glanced around, realizing that things were getting worse for her.
“I-I didn’t mean it like that!” she stuttered, trying to come up with an excuse. “I just… I thought maybe I could get some compensation, that’s all! It wasn’t a scam!”
Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow, her voice calm but firm.
“Compensation for what? You weren’t hurt. The robot just proved it.”
The crowd started to close in slightly, some people crossing their arms, clearly not buying the scammer’s weak defense.
“You should at least apologize,” one man in the crowd said, frowning at the woman.

“Trying to take advantage of someone like that, especially with such a huge amount, is low.”
The scammer bit her lip, her hands trembling as she tried to think of a way out. “I… I…” she stammered, but the words just wouldn’t come.
Finally, she let out a long, defeated sigh and muttered,
“Okay, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that.”
Su Jiyai nodded, still watching her closely.
“Good. Now leave before we report this to the authorities.”
The woman gave one last glance at the crowd, realizing there was no sympathy left for her, and then she quickly turned and dashed away, disappearing into the busy streets of the market.
The crowd slowly dispersed, some people shaking their heads and others patting Su Jiyai on the back for standing up to the scammer.
“You handled that well,” The blue-haired woman said, standing beside Su Jiyai with a smile. “Most people would’ve just handed over the money, especially with all the pressure.”
Su Jiyai smiled at her and said,
“Thank you for taking a stand for me. I am Ragnar.”
“I know, I watched you in the arena. My name is Iris.” The blue-haired woman introduced herself.
Su Jiyai nodded and said,
“I will treat you to a meal.”
Iris grinned at Su Jiyai’s offer.
“A meal? That sounds great. I could use a break after all that excitement.”
Su Jiyai nodded, leading the way through the busy market streets. As they walked, they chatted casually, getting to know each other.
“So, Ragnar,” Iris said with a teasing smile, “why did you hide your skills till now? I mean I have visited the arena regularly for the past 4 years, but I have never seen you here. Or maybe you belong to a different planet?”
Su Jiyai chuckled softly at Iris’s question, trying to keep things vague.
“You could say I’m not from around here,” she replied with a small grin.
“I’ve been keeping a low profile, handling other things. The arena isn’t exactly my main focus.”
Iris tilted her head, clearly curious but respectful enough not to push further.
“Hmm, mysterious. I like it. But you definitely made a strong impression today. That fight with Apollo? You wiped the floor with him!”
Su Jiyai smiled modestly.
“He wasn’t that bad, just a bit overconfident. Sometimes people underestimate their opponents.”
She waited for Iris to get on the main topic.
After all, Iris helped her and even agreed to have a meal with a stranger. No woman would do that until and unless they have some ulterior motives.
“So, what about you?” Su Jiyai asked, glancing at Iris.
“You seem pretty familiar with the arena and the people here. You a fighter too?”
Iris laughed, shaking her head.
“Oh no, I’m not a fighter. I just like watching the battles, especially when someone skilled like you shows up.”
Su Jiyai chuckled and had a feeling that soon Iris would tell what was in her mind.
As they continued to walk, they reached a restaurant. The restaurant looked pretty cozy, with a warm glow coming from the windows.
Su Jiyai and Iris stepped inside, and the smell of nutrition pills hit them right away. The place was filled with people chatting, eating, and having a good time.
Iris led Su Jiyai to a private room, where it was a bit quieter.
They both sat down, and a waiter quickly came over, handing them menus.
The moment Su Jiyai saw the meu she frowned. There was no food only…strange pills name.
Solar Core Vitality pills.
Quantum Protein Capsule.
Neutron-Green Detox Pill.
What the heck?
Are these things eatable?
Taking a deep breath, Su Jiyai ordered Solar Core Vitality pills.
The waiter nodded and left quickly to prepare their order.
“So,” Iris finally said after a few seconds, leaning forward a bit. “I have to ask, what brings you to this planet, Ragnar? You don’t look like a regular tourist.”
Su Jiyai gave a small smile. “Just exploring, seeing the sights.”
Iris raised an eyebrow. “Exploring? You’re not a mercenary or a bounty hunter?”
Su Jiyai shrugged. “Not really. I just get involved in things when I need to.”
Iris chuckled.
“Well, that’s interesting. You don’t seem like someone who just gets involved for no reason. You’ve got some serious skills, and I’m guessing you’ve been in plenty of fights before.”
Su Jiyai tilted her head, studying Iris for a moment. It was obvious Iris was trying to dig for information.
She expected this, though, since Iris had gone out of her way to help earlier.
Well it just happened that Iris had something that she needed too.
“And what about you?” Su Jiyai asked, deflecting. “You seem like you’re pretty familiar with this place. What’s your story?”
Iris smiled, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes.
“Oh, you know, I’ve been around. I’m not from this planet either, but I’ve been living here for a while. Got involved with some… groups and watched a lot of fights. Nothing too exciting.”
Su Jiyai knew there was more to the story, but she didn’t press.
Instead, she leaned back in her chair, waiting for the pills they ordered.
After a few more minutes, the waiter came back with a tray.
On it were two small containers filled with the Solar Core Vitality pills.
Su Jiyai looked at them, hesitating for a second before popping one in her mouth.
It didn’t taste like much—just a bit like chalk—but after swallowing it, she felt a strange warmth spread through her body. It was… kind of nice but tasteless.
Iris watched her carefully, then took one of the pills herself.
“Not bad, right?” she said, grinning.
Su Jiyai nodded, though she wasn’t sure if “not bad” was the right way to describe it. “Yeah, it’s… different,” she said slowly.
“This restaurant is known for having the best food.”
Curious about the condition of the interstellar era Su Jiyai asked,
“Hey auxiliary ai, why does everyone eat pills here? Don’t they eat real food?”
[The people of this era had completely lost the art of food making, not to mention the land in this era was infertile and hardly any vegetables could be grown. With limited natural resources and the need for efficiency, most people rely on nutrition pills that contain everything needed for survival. They’re easy to produce and distribute across the galaxy.]
