Chapter 446: Chapter 446: Cube
Su Jiyai stared at Leticia for a few seconds.

She finally understood everything now.

Leticia wasn’t just a scared girl running from her home. She was smart. Careful. And maybe… just a little desperate.

But Su Jiyai wasn’t angry.

She let out a soft sigh and leaned back against the tree again. Her voice was gentle, but clear.

“You don’t need to go back,” Su Jiyai said.

Leticia’s head snapped up. Her eyes grew wide.

“You… mean it?” she whispered.

Su Jiyai nodded. “I mean it. You don’t have to return to that place. Not if you don’t want to.”

Leticia stared at her, unmoving.

Then, suddenly, her lips wobbled again, and she burst into tears.

But this time, it wasn’t careful crying. It was messy. Loud. The kind where your shoulders shake, and you can’t breathe right.

Su Jiyai waited, letting her cry.

Because she knew this was the real one.

The one Leticia had been holding back for too long.

When Leticia finally calmed down a little, she wiped her face with her sleeve and looked at Su Jiyai like she was looking at the moon.

“Thank you,” Leticia whispered. “I… I didn’t think anyone would say that.”

Su Jiyai gave her a small smile. “You’re not alone anymore.”

Leticia held the necklace close again, her fingers squeezing it like it was her last treasure.

Su Jiyai stretched her arms and stood up.

“Let’s go.”

Blaze and Juliet were awake by then.

Soon, the group reached the foot of the mountain.

Su Jiyai sent them their shares of money and said,

“Alright then, we are even now. Let’s take our leave.”

She was signaling Blaze and Juliet to part ways.

However, Blaze and Juliet didn’t leave, instead, they stared at Su Jiyai and said in an emotional voice,

“We…we want to follow you.”

Su Jiyai: “…” Eh?

She had traveled to so many worlds, but no one ever said to her such a line.

Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".

Should she feel moved?

Ah…

“No need. I won’t stay here for long.” Su Jiyai said.

Now, she had almost finished all of her mission and only needed the nanobots before leaving.

She wasn’t planning on living in Tartarus anymore.

[Ding! A mission has been assigned. Help Blaze and Juliet open a guild in one of the top planets. Reward: 20 billion interstellar coins. Can converted to points.]

Su Jiyai gritted her teeth.

Great!

Su Jiyai rubbed her forehead.

She really wanted to say “no” again, but 20 billion interstellar coins?

That was way too much!

She glanced at Blaze and Juliet. The two of them looked so serious, like they were waiting for her approval, like kids hoping to be picked for a team.

She let out a sigh.

“Alright.”

Blaze’s eyes sparkled. Juliet gasped and grabbed Blaze’s arm in excitement.

Su Jiyai turned toward Leticia and thought of letting Blaze and Juliet adopt Leticia, when suddenly a system notification popped in her head,

[Don’t let Leticia leave the Tartarus Planet! She needs to stay here and get injured. Only after getting injured would the future Leticia be able to return to younger Leticia’s body.]

Su Jiyai: “…” So many rules and regulations!

She could only pat Leticia’s head and say,

“Let’s go to your house and pack your bag. I will buy you a small apartment nearby.”

Leticia’s eyes sparkled,, and she bowed to Su Jiyai,

“Thank you, Ragnar!”

They soon returned to Leticia’s house. It was a 3 storey villa.

No one was inside.

Leticia looked around quietly, like she was checking to see if someone would jump out and yell at her.

But the house was silent.

She walked in slowly and began packing her things.

There wasn’t much—just a few clothes, a cup with a chip on the side, and an old pillow shaped like a cat.

She moved quickly, like she didn’t want to stay there any longer than she had to.

Su Jiyai leaned against the wall and watched quietly. She didn’t say anything.

Then, Leticia paused. Her eyes landed on something under the old table. She crouched down and pulled out a dusty scroll.

“This…” she whispered.

“You wanna bring that too?” Su Jiyai asked.

Leticia nodded.

“I found it on the mountain a while ago. I don’t know what it says, but… it felt important.”

Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow. “Then bring it.”

Leticia stuffed the scroll carefully into her bag, like it was a secret treasure.

After everything was packed, they left the house. Leticia didn’t look back.

They headed straight to a real estate agency nearby.

It was a weird little office with flickering lights and a lazy robot receptionist who only had one working eye.

Su Jiyai didn’t waste time.

“I need a fully furnished apartment,” she told the agent. “Safe area. Not too far.”

The agent showed her a few options on a hologram. Su Jiyai picked the cleanest one and paid in full.

The apartment was small but cozy. It had a soft bed, a smart screen, a small kitchen, and even a fluffy couch. Leticia looked around with wide eyes.

“I’ve never had something like this,” she whispered.

Su Jiyai transferred 100 million interstellar coins into Leticia’s account. “This is for your food, clothes, and whatever else you need.”

Leticia gasped. “That’s way too much!”

“It’s not,” Su Jiyai said. “You’re on your own now. Make smart choices.”

Then Su Jiyai opened her comm and was about to hire two bodyguards from the local security system when Leticia grabbed her wrist.

“No, Ragnar. Please. I don’t want bodyguards.”

“It’s for your safety.”

“I’ll be fine!” Leticia said quickly. “I don’t want people following me everywhere. Please… I just want to live quietly.”

Su Jiyai frowned. “Tch. You’re really stubborn.”

Leticia looked down but didn’t change her mind.

After a long moment, Su Jiyai sighed again.

“Fine. But if anyone gives you trouble, you contact me…I mean Blaze or Juliet. Got it?”

Leticia nodded quickly.

Right then, Blaze and Juliet walked in. They looked much better—cleaner, bandaged up, and finally wearing fresh clothes.

“Yo, we’re back!” Blaze said, waving his arm. “The doc said I’ll be good as new in a week!”

Juliet smiled. “And we got some cool healing patches too!”

Leticia looked at them shyly and gave a little bow. “Thank you… for helping me before.”

Blaze grinned. “Anytime, kid.”

Juliet winked. “You’re part of the team now.”

Su Jiyai turned serious and said, “I’m going to the local cop office. I’ll report what happened to Leticia. Those people shouldn’t get away with—”

“No!” Leticia shouted suddenly.

Everyone looked at her.

Leticia’s face turned pale. Her hands shook.

“No cops,” she said firmly. “Please. Don’t report anything.”

Su Jiyai stared at her for a few seconds.

She knew that tone. She had heard it before in other people, in other worlds.

Leticia was hiding something.

But Su Jiyai didn’t push.

“…Fine. I won’t go,” she said calmly. “But if anything happens again, you better tell someone. Blaze and Juliet are here for you.”

Leticia looked at the two of them. Blaze gave her a thumbs-up. Juliet nodded.

“Okay,” Leticia said softly. “Thank you… all of you.”

Su Jiyai crossed her arms and said, “Good. Now stay out of trouble.”

Leticia looked around the cozy apartment one last time before reaching into her bag. She pulled out the old scroll.

“Ragnar,” she said softly, holding the scroll with both hands. “I want to give this to you. You’ve helped me so much. I don’t know what it’s for, but I just… I want you to have it.”

Su Jiyai blinked and took the scroll carefully.

[Ding! You have successfully obtained the 2nd scroll for the antidote of the zombie virus. 1 more scroll needed.]

Su Jiyai’s eyes flickered slightly. So it was one of the keys…

She looked at Leticia. The girl’s eyes were full of trust, hope, and quiet strength.

“Thank you,” Su Jiyai said. “This is important. I won’t let it go to waste.”

Leticia smiled and hugged her pillow cat. “I’m really glad I met you… all of you.”

That evening, they had dinner together.

Blaze made dumb jokes. Juliet teased him nonstop. Leticia laughed for the first time, a real laugh that made her eyes shine.

Su Jiyai didn’t say much. But deep inside, she felt something warm.

The next morning, the group stood in front of Leticia’s apartment.

“Alright, kid,” Blaze said, ruffling Leticia’s hair. “Be good. Don’t burn the place down.”

Juliet handed her a small cube. “Press this if you need anything. We’ll come.”

Leticia looked at Su Jiyai last. “Ragnar… thank you again.”

Su Jiyai gave a little nod. “Take care.”

Then, with one last wave, the three of them turned and left.

Leticia watched them until they disappeared around the corner. She stood there for a moment, hugging her pillow tight.

Then she turned around and began walking back inside.

But before she could reach the door, a loud HONK filled the air.
