Chapter 453: Chapter 453: Disc
Su Jiyai stood calmly in the middle of the meeting room, hands behind her back.

“While conducting an investigation on some matters,” she began, her voice clear and steady, “I came across some discs.”

One of the base leaders—a chubby man with a crooked hat—snorted loudly and laughed.

“So what? We’re talking about issues related to the weather. What does that have to do with some old disc?”

Another base leader, a woman with sharp red lipstick, rolled her eyes.

“Is this a science fair now? What’s next, boss? You found a weather-changing fork too?”

People laughed again.

Admiral Ru raised an eyebrow and said with a small grin,

“Boss Su, maybe you should stay silent if you don’t know what we’re discussing. Leave the grown-up talk to us.”

More laughter followed. A few people even slapped the table.

But Su Jiyai just smiled. She didn’t look hurt or even embarrassed.

“What I’m going to say next might sound even more childish,” she said calmly, “but I need you to listen.”

Some of the laughter died down, curiosity sneaking into a few faces.

She took a breath and said,

“When I took control of Crystal Cove, we found a disc hidden deep underground. When I destroyed that disc using my fire and poison superpowers, the weather changed drastically.

The heat waves vanished. Even the extreme heat turned mild.”

The room fell silent for a second.

But only for a second.

Then came the laughter.

Loud. Wild. Unfiltered.

One base leader clapped sarcastically.

“Wow. What a story! Boss Su controls the weather now!”

Another wiped tears from his eyes.

“Maybe next time she’ll destroy a spoon, and the zombie apocalypse would disappear from Earth!”

Someone near the back whispered, “Has old age finally caught up with her?”

“I heard too much alchemy messes with your brain,” a guy added with a grin.

Doctor Min chuckled and shook her head.

“This is too much. A disc that changes the weather? Sorry, Boss Su, but this is just nonsense.”

The others nodded in agreement, still smiling and muttering under their breath.

But then a voice rang out.

Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".

“I believe her.”

It was Liu Feng.

He stood tall and serious, arms crossed behind his back.

“If she says it happened, I believe it. Boss Su doesn’t speak without reason.”

Some people shifted awkwardly. Others rolled their eyes.

But Su Jiyai smiled softly and nodded toward him in thanks.

She turned back to the crowd and said,

“If you still think I’m just playing games, you’re welcome to come to Crystal Cove and see for yourself.”

More murmurs rose, but Doctor Min just laughed again.

“No offense, but we don’t have time to chase fairy tales.”

“Yeah,” another agreed. “We’re trying to survive here, not read bedtime stories.”

“We don’t have the luxury to entertain Boss Su’s experiments.”

“I’d rather fight a zombie than waste a second listening to this.”

Su Jiyai stood calmly through all of it.

General Dong, who had been silent for a while, suddenly frowned and looked straight at Su Jiyai.

“Boss Su,” he said in a deep voice, “are you sure about what you’re saying?”

Su Jiyai nodded confidently, not even blinking. “If I’m lying,” she said, “I’m willing to pay each base ten thousand cup noodles from my stockpile.”

The room went completely quiet.

Ten thousand cup noodles?!

That was a crazy amount. Enough to feed hundreds of people for weeks.

Some leaders exchanged glances, surprise written all over their faces.

A few even looked a little guilty for laughing at her before. Some still looked unsure, but they no longer laughed.

“Is she serious?” one of the base leaders whispered.

“Has she gone crazy?” another muttered.

Admiral Ru’s smile faded a little. He frowned and crossed his arms.

“I still think we’re wasting time here,” he said, voice tight. “Let’s not forget we have real problems to solve.”

Su Jiyai chuckled softly, her eyes glinting with a sharp light.

“If I didn’t know better, Admiral Ru,” she said, “I might think you’re trying to hide something. You’ve been very against this idea from the start.”

Her words landed like a quiet bomb.

Everyone in the room looked at Admiral Ru.

Some raised their eyebrows.

Others narrowed their eyes.

Even those who didn’t fully believe Su Jiyai started thinking that maybe… just maybe… she was telling the truth.

After all, who offers ten thousand cup noodles just to make a joke?

Admiral Ru didn’t look shaken, though. He stayed calm and replied,

“I just don’t want to waste time on something that sounds like a fantasy. I’d rather spend that time on things that matter.”

Then General Liu laughed, shaking his head.

“Well, since you’re so busy,” he said playfully, “I guess the free leaders can go with me. I was planning to inspect Crystal Cove’s temperature anyway.”

A few base leaders nodded.

“Yeah, I’ll come too.”

“Let’s go check it out.”

“If it turns out to be true, we’ll know. If not, at least we tried.”

Even Doctor Min sighed and stood up.

“Alright. Since that’s the case, I’ll join the inspection as well.”

She turned to everyone and said, “Let’s end the meeting here for today.”

People began to gather their things and rise from their seats.

Before they left, General Dong cleared his throat.

“From now on,” he said, “Boss Su will be recognized as the ninth leader in the alliance.”

Some clapped politely. Others gave small nods.

“After the inspection,” he continued, “we’ll decide together whether Boss Su’s discovery is real. If it is…” He paused.

“Then we’ll all work together to find these discs and destroy them.”

“And if it isn’t, then Boss Su would have to pay for wasting time.”

Su Jiyai gave a quiet nod.

Everyone left the meeting room one after another.

Su Jiyai stayed behind for a while, her hands behind her back, calm and quiet. Qin Feng came over and said softly,

“Boss Su, let me show you to your room.”

Su Jiyai followed him without a word.

They walked through a few long corridors before finally reaching a plain gray door. Qin Feng pushed it open and gestured for her to go in.

The moment Su Jiyai stepped inside, her eyebrows twitched slightly.

The room was… bad.

There was no heater. No fan. Not even an AC. The air inside was stuffy and dry, with a strange smell that made her wrinkle her nose.

Dust floated in the air like it had been abandoned for months.

A spider crawled on the corner of the cracked wall.

There were a few pests—some tiny cockroaches near the skirting, and she could hear the soft scuttling of something behind the shelf.

The bed looked like it came straight from a haunted house. Its wooden legs were uneven, and it creaked just from her standing next to it.

One of the pillows was torn, and a yellow stain spread across the mattress. The blanket looked thin and scratchy.

The small window was half broken, and the curtain had holes in it.

There was a sink in the corner, but the tap kept dripping, and the water smelled like rust. A dirty bucket sat underneath it.

The floor was cracked and cold, and even though it was indoors, she felt like she could hear the wind howling outside.

Was this really the standard now?

Had the alliance fallen this low in just one year?

Su Jiyai stared at the mess in silence for a long moment before slowly turning to Qin Feng.

“This is the room for an alliance leader?” she asked, her tone even.

Qin Feng nodded and said,

“Uh… yeah. I mean… It’s not the best room among the top leaders, that’s for sure. But compared to the rooms given to small base leaders, this one’s actually way better.”

Su Jiyai blinked.

She honestly didn’t know what to say.

But she held it in and nodded slightly.

“Okay,” she said. “Qin Feng, can you check if there’s anyone downstairs?”

Qin Feng nodded and walked out. A few minutes later, he returned and whispered, “No one’s in the parking area. It’s clear.”

Su Jiyai didn’t say anything. She just walked downstairs with him.

When they reached the wide empty parking lot, she took out a small silver cube from her space ring.

With a flick of her wrist, the cube unfolded and expanded, growing bigger and bigger until—boom!—a full-sized RV appeared in front of them.

The RV was huge. It was shiny, silver and smooth like a spaceship. It had tinted windows, solar panels on the roof, and a little antenna that blinked with a soft blue light.

Su Jiyai opened the door and looked at him. “Come on in.”

Qiao Feng stepped inside and gasped.

It was like stepping into a different world.

The air inside was fresh and cool. Not too cold, not too warm. Just perfect.

There was a comfy white couch with soft cushions in the living area. A clean glass table in the middle. A small kitchen with a working fridge, microwave, and stove—all spotless.

Even the floor sparkled.
