Chapter 454: Chapter 454: Spies In Alliance
Qin Feng looked at the old grandma and suddenly wanted to tease Su Jiyai. Hence, he stood up straight and said,

“Boss Su, you go and rest. I can’t live too close to you. It will be harmful for you.”

Su Jiyai panicked, hearing Qin Feng’s words, and asked,

“Then where are you planning to live?”

“I would go back to the room prepared by the alliance.” Qin Feng replied with a serious expression.

Su Jiyai instantly disagreed,

“No! You can’t live in that gross haunted room!” Su Jiyai shouted, stomping her foot a little.

Qin Feng blinked, pretending to be confused. “Why not? I am not your boyfriend. I need to maintain distance.”

You are! Su Jiyai shouted in her heart.

Just the mere thought of how her Feng’er will suffer in that room, Su Jiyai’s heart ache,d and she insisted,

“You can maintain the distance in this RV, too. Just don’t go. It’s my order.”

How could she let her Feng’er suffer?

Qin Feng chuckled. “Are you worried about me, Boss Su?”

“No! I just… I don’t want you to get eaten by bedbugs, that’s all.”

He laughed again and finally gave in, rubbing the back of his neck. “Alright, alright. I’ll stay in the RV.”

Qin Feng made himself comfortable on the smaller couch near the window while Su Jiyai checked the storage compartments.

She opened a drawer and pulled out two soft towels, tossing one to him.

“You can shower first,” she said, acting as calm as possible. “There’s hot water, and the bathroom cleans itself after use.”

Qin Feng raised an eyebrow. “Wow. Boss Su, you’re full of surprises.”

She gave a haughty sniff, hiding the proud little smile curling at her lips.

“Of course. What did you think? I’ve got standards.”

As Qin Feng stepped into the bathroom, Su Jiyai finally let out a small sigh and leaned back on the sofa, hugging a cushion.

When he came out of the bathroom, steam trailing behind him and his damp hair tousled, Su Jiyai looked up and blinked a few times.

He looked like he walked out of a drama—clean skin, calm expression, and that little smile that tugged at the corners of his lips.

“Your turn,” he said, tossing the towel back toward the laundry unit.

“Hmm.”

She took her clothes and entered the bathroom, emerging fifteen minutes later.

They sat silently in the RV for a while, the soft hum of the generator filling the air.

Then Qin Feng spoke up.

“Why did you offer ten thousand cup noodles?”

Su Jiyai glanced at him. “Because I’m sure.”

“And if it turns out to be wrong?”

“I have seen it with my own eyes how could I be wrong?” Su Jiyai said with a chuckle.

She had personally destroyed the disc and saw the climate change.

Looking at the mysterious smile on Qin Feng’s heart, a idea appeared in Su Jiyai’s mind and she asked,

“Wait…you mean to say someone might use this time to tamper with temperature again and prove me wrong?”

Qin Feng nodded.

Su Jiyai’s eyes widened, and various possibilities appeared in her mind.

If what she was thinking was true, then it would explain why, even after 20 years of the apocalypse, the humans were at a loss.

From her suspicion.

Maybe…there are Devil’s pawns in the alliance too, and they make sure to mess things up from the inside!

Su Jiyai stood up all of a sudden, making the cushion fall off her lap.

“That would explain so much!” she muttered, pacing around the RV.

Qin Feng watched her calmly. “Now you get what I mean.”

Su Jiyai nodded hard.

“Yeah! Like—like that time when the alliance said they’d send help to Base 13, but the rescue team came late and most people were already gone…”

She had heard of that news when she was in the military and felt it was very peculiar.

“And the food shortage incident 4 years ago,” Qin Feng added. “They said the supply truck got attacked, but there was no record of any mutant beast fight near that area.”

Su Jiyai looked like she just solved a super difficult math problem.

“Ugh! So annoying! We fight zombies and mutant beasts every day, and now we have to worry about spies, too?”

Qin Feng leaned back with his hands behind his head. “That’s the reality, Boss Su.”

Su Jiyai thought for a moment,

“We can…”

Ding!

Her thought was interrupted by a system notification.

[Ding! Hello, I am Auxiliary AI. You have received a message from your spies on General Dong’s side.]

“What is it?” Su Jiyai asked.

…………………………….

The next morning, the whole Rover Base was in chaos.

People were running around, shouting about food, and the alarm lights were flashing red across the base. A loud announcement came through the speakers:

“All high-ranking officials and base leaders, report to the command hall immediately! This is an emergency!”

Su Jiyai blinked her sleepy eyes and rubbed her head. “Huh? What’s going on this early?”

Qin Feng walked in from outside with a serious face.

“They said someone stole all the food supplies from the storage warehouse last night.”

……………………………

Inside the large command hall, all nine alliance leaders were seated at the front, including the fierce-looking Leader Pei, the head of the Rover Base.

He looked furious, slamming his hand on the table.

“Who did it?!” he shouted, glaring at everyone.

“Only the eight other leaders and I have access to that warehouse! This isn’t some normal robbery—this is betrayal!”

The room went silent. The air felt heavy.

Leader Pei’s voice dropped, but his tone was colder. “Everyone, report your whereabouts last night. If you weren’t in your room, you’re a suspect.”

One by one, the base leaders spoke up.

“I was in my room all night,” said Leader Shi.

“Me too,” nodded Doctor Min.

“Same here,” added another.

Finally, Leader Pei turned to Su Jiyai. “Boss Su, what about you?”

Su Jiyai stood up calmly. “I was in my RV.”

There was a pause.

A few unofficial leaders—those who didn’t fully like or trust Su Jiyai—started whispering among themselves.

One of them, a middle-aged man with sharp eyes, spoke louder than the rest. “In her RV? That’s outside the main building, isn’t it? Then she’s technically not in her room, right?”

Another leader chimed in. “That’s right… and she’s been acting strange since yesterday.”

Su Jiyai frowned and crossed her arms. “I didn’t do it.”

The whispering didn’t stop.

“She could’ve done it. She’s strong.”

“And she’s new here, not fully loyal to the alliance yet…”

Su Jiyai shrugged. “I don’t even need to steal food. What would I gain from it? I already have my own stock.”

That’s when Admiral Ru interrupted with a smile.

He tapped the table lightly and said in a steady voice, “Actually, Boss Su does have a motive.”

The room quieted again.

Su Jiyai looked at him, surprised. “What motive?”

Admiral Ru raised an eyebrow.

“Weren’t you the one who made a bold bet yesterday? You promised ten thousand cup noodles to everyone if your temperature theory about Crystal Cove was wrong.”

Gasps filled the room.

Someone whispered, “That’s a lot of food…”

Another added, “She’d need extra supplies if she loses that bet…”

Su Jiyai blinked. “Wait—hold on—are you saying I stole food just to pay for the bet?! That’s ridiculous!”

Admiral Ru’s face stayed calm.

“I’m not accusing. I’m simply stating that if someone were desperate to keep their word, stealing food could be… convenient.”

Su Jiyai slammed her palm on the table. “I’m not desperate! And I’m not some food thief!”

But now, the air had changed. A few people looked at her with doubt in their eyes.

Su Jiyai looked around in panic and said,

“It is not me! I…I…”

“Can you prove it?” Admiral Ru pressed on.

Su Jiyai clenched her fist and said,

“I…I can’t but, you can’t accuse me, right? You need to have proof to accuse me!”

The other small base leader nodded, feeling that Su Jiyai’s words made sense.

Admiral Ru chuckled, seeing Su Jiyai’s panicked side, and asked,

“Do you have any proof that you stayed in the RV the entire night?”

A hint of embarrassment appeared on Su Jiyai’s face.

“I…Actually….that…”

Seeing her squirming and not having any proof, Admiral Ru heaved a sigh of relief in his heart and turned toward Leader Pei,

“I have proof that Boss Su is the culprit.”

All the small base leaders were stunned and started to discuss,

“What? I am hearing things? Why would someone like Boss Su steal?”

“Maybe her generosity was fake all along.”

“Tsk! tsk! And here I thought that I could buy supplies at a low price from her. So she was a thief all along.”

“Impossible!” Su Jiyai stood up and shouted.

Admiral Ru, seeing how shaken Su Jiyai was, continued,

“I visited the food supplies area yesterday and was passing when I saw a old figure entering the food supplies area.”
