Chapter 455: Chapter 455: Contract
Admiral Ru paused and looked straight at Su Jiyai.

“I didn’t think much of it then… but now, I remember clearly. The figure had a slight limp… just like Boss Su.”

Gasps filled the room again.

Su Jiyai’s face turned red. “What?! That wasn’t me!”

Admiral Ru kept going,

“I didn’t say anything at first because I wasn’t sure. But this morning, when I heard about the food being stolen… and now hearing Boss Su say she has no proof she stayed in her RV… well, things just add up, don’t they?”

Su Jiyai stepped back, shaking her head. “No! You’re making it all up!”

Qin Feng suddenly stood up. His voice was calm but serious. “Enough.”

Everyone turned to him.

“Boss Su stayed in the RV all night. I was with her.”

The room froze.

Even Su Jiyai looked shocked. “Qin Feng…”

Qin Feng looked at Leader Pei.

“If anyone wants to accuse her, then you’re accusing me, too. I can swear on my life—Boss Su didn’t leave the RV at all last night.”

Whispers broke out in the room.

“What, who is he even?”

“Exactly! What can he even prove?”

What others didn’t know was that few people’s eyes widened in surprise.

Admiral Ru and Doctor Min exchanged glances while Leader Pei narrowed his eyes and asked,

“Who are you?”

Before Qin Feng could answer, Admiral Ru suddenly interrupted,

“Does that even matter? The most important question is whether Boss Su was the one who had stolen the food supplies or not! I have proof.”

With that he took out his phone and asked one of the staff to connect it to the projector.

The projector turned on, and a blurry image of an old woman, whose clothes were the same as what Boss had worn yesterday.

The room went super quiet as the image on the projector showed up big and clear.

A few people gasped.

“That… that really does look like Boss Su’s clothes!” someone whispered.

She stepped forward, her voice shaky but firm. “That’s not me. I didn’t go out last night.”

Admiral Ru, seeing Su Jiyai panicking, said,

“So why don’t we do this…if Boss Su could prove that she wasn’t this old lady, I would apologize.”

Admiral Ru turned to Su Jiyai and pointed at the screen.

“Well, Boss Su? Got any explanation for this?”

Su Jiyai’s mouth opened, but before she could say anything, Qin Feng stepped forward, his voice calm but firm.

“Wait a second,” he said, looking right at Admiral Ru. “If you want Boss Su to prove herself, you better raise the stakes.”

Admiral Ru blinked. “What?”

Qin Feng crossed his arms.

“You’re the one throwing accusations. And now you want her to dance just because you snapped your fingers? If Boss Su is going to prove that the old lady in the photo isn’t her, then you need to bet something real.”

Admiral Ru glared at Qin Feng as if he wanted to eat him alive.

His face twisted in anger, eyes sharp and cold like a snake about to strike. But then, suddenly, he chuckled.

“Hah… I see,” he said, smirking and glancing at Su Jiyai, who looked tense and quiet.

“She’s scared. That’s why she wants to play games with stakes. Fine. I’ll play.”

He turned to the crowd and declared loudly, “If she proves that the person in the photo isn’t her, then I’ll give up 5% of Sunny Base’s food supplies to her!”

Gasps echoed around the room. Even Su Jiyai’s eyes widened a bit.

But Qin Feng just shook his head.

“No,” he said firmly. “Not enough.”

Admiral Ru’s smile dropped. “Excuse me?”

“I’ll only let Boss Su speak after you agree to give 20% of the food supplies.”

The whole room exploded in whispers.

“Twenty percent?! That’s way too much!”

“Is he insane?”

Admiral Ru’s face turned red. “That’s robbery!”

Qin Feng stayed cool. “Then don’t agree. Boss Su won’t explain anything, either. We’re done here.”

He started to turn around like he didn’t care one bit.

Admiral Ru slammed his fist on the table. “You think you can threaten me?!”

Qin Feng shrugged like he was just talking about the weather.

“No threats. Just fair trade. You want to accuse her and ask for proof? Then pay the price when you’re wrong.”

Before Admiral Ru could explode again, Doctor Min stood up, her eyes sharp and serious.

“This is ridiculous!” she said.

“Why should we be offering stakes at all? We already have proof. That’s her coat in the photo. She’s guilty unless she proves herself innocent!”

Qin Feng turned and gave a short laugh.

“You call that proof? Please. I could make ten of those photos with a little blur and the right coat. Does that mean anyone I point at is guilty?”

Doctor Min opened her mouth to speak, then closed it. Silence filled the room.

Everyone looked at each other.

Admiral Ru frowned hard. He tapped his fingers on the table, thinking fast.

What if they were just bluffing?

He licked his lips.

Fine. If she failed to prove it, he’d still win big. If he failed, then…at most he would be scolded.

After a long pause, Admiral Ru finally said, “Alright. 20% it is.”

Doctor Min quickly stood up again. “Admiral Ru, you can’t—!”

He waved his hand at her, cutting her off. “I said I’ll do it.”

He smirked at Su Jiyai. “Now let’s see what kind of explanation you have, Boss Su. Better be a good one.”

Qin Feng didn’t move right away. He stood calmly and looked Admiral Ru right in the eye.

“One more thing,” he said. “We need a guarantee. A proper contract.”

The whole room groaned.

“Oh come on…”

“He’s dragging this out again.”

“This guy’s full of drama.”

But Admiral Ru just scoffed. “Fine. If that makes you feel better.” He pulled out a small tablet and tapped a few times. “We’ll make it official right now.”

Leader Pei raised an eyebrow but didn’t stop him. It wasn’t against the rules, after all.

In just a few minutes, the contract appeared on the screen. Everyone could see it.

[If Boss Su proves that the person in the image is not her, Admiral Ru will hand over 20% of Sunny Base’s food supply.

If Boss Su fails to prove it, she must give 10% of her own food supplies to Sunny Base every month for the next six months.]

Qin Feng nodded. “Looks fair to me.”

Then the staff passed the tablet to Boss Su for her to sign.

But Su Jiyai hesitated. She held the tablet and looked down at the screen, not moving.

People began to whisper again.

“Why isn’t she signing?”

“She’s stalling…”

“Maybe she is guilty…”

Even Admiral Ru grinned wider. “What’s wrong, Boss Su? Regretting already?”

Su Jiyai glanced up, biting her lip, her hand shaking just a little.

Qin Feng leaned in and said quietly, “You okay?”

She nodded slowly, then sighed and finally signed her name.

Everyone saw it. The moment her finger hit the screen and the signature appeared, the contract locked.

The staff took it back and placed it on the table.

Admiral Ru folded his arms, all smug. “Well, now we’re set. Go ahead and explain, Boss Su—”

But he froze mid-sentence.

Because right in front of him, Su Jiyai’s whole expression changed.

The nervous, panicked girl from earlier?

Gone.

Her face turned calm and cool. Her eyes lit up with a sharp glint. Her back straightened, and she looked like someone who was about to win a prize.

It was like a totally different person stood in her place.

She even gave a tiny smile.

Admiral Ru blinked. His heart skipped a beat. Something about that look…

It unsettled him.

Did she fake being scared just now?

He narrowed his eyes.

Doctor Min noticed, too, and leaned toward Admiral Ru. “Something’s wrong…”

But it was too late.

The contract was signed. The game had started.

Su Jiyai took a deep breath, then slowly walked to the front of the room where the projector was set up.

Everyone watched her closely. The fear on her face was completely gone. Now she looked calm, like she had been planning this moment all along.

She tapped on her wristwatch and connected it to the projector. The screen blinked once… and then a clear photo appeared.

It showed Su Jiyai walking down the street at the Rover Base. She was wearing the same clothes as yesterday.

And the time stamp on the corner showed it was taken around 8 PM, right when people claimed she was sneaking out in disguise.

Gasps filled the room again.

She tapped again, and this time a video began to play.

The footage was from a security camera inside the military training area at the Rover Base.

It showed Su Jiyai entering around 8:30 PM… and then sitting quietly on a bench, watching the soldiers practice.

She was there the whole night.
