Chapter 468: Chapter 468: Challenge
The man froze, staring at Su Jiyai like he had seen a ghost. His voice cracked as he asked, “W-What do you mean by that?”
Su Jiyai smiled, but there was no warmth in it. Only coldness and something even more terrifying.
“What if what you fear,” she said slowly, “is exactly what I’m going to do?”
The man stumbled back a step, his face pale. Fear filled his eyes, and without another word, he suddenly turned to run.
“Qin Feng,” Su Jiyai said lazily, not even looking at him.
Qin Feng moved immediately.
With quick steps, he grabbed the man by the back of his shirt and yanked him off his feet like he was nothing but a struggling fish caught on a hook.
The man kicked and thrashed wildly, but it was useless. Qin Feng held him firmly, forcing him back to the ground.
Su Jiyai chuckled softly, the sound light but chilling.
“Why are you running?” she asked, tilting her head slightly. “You’re the boy’s loving father, aren’t you?”
Her words made the crowd look at the man even more carefully. Doubt and suspicion filled the air like thick smoke.
“Why would a father run away?” someone muttered.
“Yeah… if he was telling the truth, he wouldn’t have to run,” another added.
The man’s face twisted in panic. He struggled harder, screaming, “Let me go! You don’t know what you’re doing! If you hurt me, you won’t be able to bear the consequences!”
Su Jiyai’s smile widened. Her voice was calm and full of quiet power.
“No,” she said simply. “You and your pathetic organization won’t be able to bear my wrath.”
Her words were like thunder rolling across the crowd.
Su Jiyai’s sharp gaze swept over the people gathered around. Many flinched under her eyes, some even lowering their heads.
A dangerous glint flashed in her eyes as she said slowly, her voice carrying over the silence,
“I know many of you are hiding here… members of that disgusting organization.”
Several people in the crowd stiffened. Their faces paled, and some shifted nervously.
Su Jiyai let her words hang in the air before continuing, her voice turning colder with every word.
“Go back,” she said, her tone full of menace. “Go back and tell your leader this—”
“I, Boss Su, will wipe your entire organization off the map by tomorrow night.”
The crowd gasped.
Some looked horrified. Others backed away in fear.
Su Jiyai didn’t stop there. Her voice grew even sharper, cutting like a knife.
“And every pain you made this boy suffer—” she paused and placed a protective hand on the boy’s back, “—I will return it to you one hundred times over.”
The boy, still holding onto her tightly, heard her words. His small hands clutched her clothes even harder for a moment.
But then, something inside him slowly shifted.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Maybe… just maybe… this person wasn’t like those others.
Maybe she really wasn’t from the organization.
That small thought was enough.
The boy’s tense body relaxed against her. His breathing grew softer, steadier.
Su Jiyai looked down and saw him snuggle closer to her, as if finally feeling safe for the first time in a long while.
Her heart ached at the sight. She shifted her arms slightly, cradling him more securely.
The boy’s eyelids fluttered, then slowly closed. He had fought so long to stay awake, but now, feeling her warmth and safety around him, he couldn’t fight anymore.
He drifted off into a deep, peaceful sleep in her arms.
Su Jiyai smiled gently, her earlier coldness softening just for him.
She motioned to Qin Feng with her head, her voice low but clear, “Bring him along.”
Qin Feng nodded immediately, tightening his grip on the struggling man and dragging him forward without any care for the man’s protests.
The crowd stepped back silently, none daring to stand in their way.
Boss Su’s threat still echoed in their ears.
And in their hearts, they knew…
Maybe today’s matter wasn’t as easy as it had looked.
……………..
Qin Feng dragged the man across the rough ground without an ounce of pity. The man twisted and kicked, crying out,
“Please! Please let me walk! The stones and pebbles— they’re cutting into me! It hurts!”
But Qin Feng didn’t even blink, and Su Jiyai didn’t look at him once.
It was as if his begging didn’t matter at all—like he was no more important than a piece of trash on the side of the road.
Soon, they reached the RV parked in the parking lot.
Without hesitation, Su Jiyai turned her head slightly and said in a calm voice, “Knock him out.”
Qin Feng nodded once, his face emotionless.
With a swift, brutal movement, he kicked the man directly in the throat.
The man gave a choking sound before his eyes rolled back and he collapsed, fully unconscious.
With a wave of her hand, Su Jiyai summoned a large sack from her storage ring. “Put him in,” she ordered lightly.
Qin Feng frowned, feeling disgusted even at the thought of touching the man. Instead, he used his psychic power.
A light shimmered around his hand, and the man’s limp body floated up, then slipped inside the sack like a sack of rotten potatoes.
Qin Feng tied the sack up tightly and tossed it into the storage compartment at the back of the RV.
Once the dirty work was done, Qin Feng and Su Jiyai stepped inside the RV.
The air was warmer here, cozy compared to the cold outside.
Su Jiyai knelt by the little boy sleeping on the seat. She brushed a hand through his messy hair and said softly, “Qin Feng, open the bathroom door.”
Qin Feng blinked. “What are you going to do?”
Su Jiyai smiled faintly. “Wash him.”
Hearing that, Qin Feng quickly shook his head. “I’ll do it. You don’t need to.”
Su Jiyai thought for a moment before nodding. “Alright,” she said, “then help brush his teeth too.”
“Got it,” Qin Feng said, already moving.
Carefully, he lifted the boy into his arms and brought him to the small washing area. Gently, he patted the boy’s back to wake him up.
The boy’s eyes fluttered open, and when he realized he was in a strange place, he panicked. He struggled, pushing at Qin Feng’s chest and baring his teeth like a small, frightened animal.
Qin Feng held him securely and whispered, “Shh… it’s okay. You’re safe now.”
Using a bit of his psychic ability, Qin Feng sent a soft, calming wave through the boy’s body.
The boy stopped struggling, breathing fast. His wide eyes looked at Qin Feng carefully.
After a moment, he recognized him—the man who had stood beside the beautiful sister.
The one who had caught the bad people.
The boy sniffled and whispered, “Are you… Are you going to hurt me?”
Qin Feng’s face softened.
“No. I’m just going to wash you up. Then you can sleep again. Okay?”
The boy bit his lip nervously. “If I say no… will you still force me?”
Qin Feng shook his head seriously.
“No. If you don’t want to, I won’t force you. But…” He lowered his voice a little, “Boss Su would be really, really sad if you didn’t.”
The boy’s small body trembled slightly. After a few seconds, he nodded very quietly. “Okay… I’ll do it. Only a little.”
Qin Feng smiled warmly and began to adjust the water, making sure it was just the right temperature—not too hot, not too cold.
He helped the boy out of his ragged clothes, and when the boy stood there shivering, Qin Feng saw the scars—long, ugly, terrible scars crisscrossing his thin body.
Qin Feng froze.
The boy, seeing Qin Feng’s reaction, quickly wrapped his arms around himself, trying to hide.
“I-I’m sorry,” he mumbled. “Don’t look… I’m ugly.”
The words hit Qin Feng harder than any punch.
Gently, he patted the boy’s head. “You’re not ugly,” he said firmly. “You’re handsome.”
The boy looked up at him, eyes wide and a little disbelieving. “Really?”
“Really,” Qin Feng said with a nod.
Without waiting for the boy to argue, Qin Feng took the shower head and gently wet the boy’s hair and body.
He poured a little shower gel into his hands, working it into a rich lather before spreading it over the boy’s small, bony frame.
As he washed him, Qin Feng kept nodding seriously and saying, “Very handsome.”
The boy shook his head, muttering under his breath, “Liar…”
Qin Feng chuckled quietly but didn’t argue. He knew words couldn’t fix years of hurt in a single night.
The boy, curious, sniffed the air. His nose twitched, and he looked surprised.
“This smells… good,” he said in wonder.
Qin Feng smiled. “It’s yours now.”
The boy’s eyes sparkled a little.
After carefully washing every inch of himself, Qin Feng reached for a clean towel.
As he was about to wrap the boy up, the boy suddenly turned around and closed his eyes tightly.
Qin Feng blinked. “What are you doing?”
The boy’s small voice trembled as he said,
“You can hit me now. On the back and… and the butt. It hurts less there. I can take it.”
