Chapter 475: Chapter 475: Hurt And Truth
Qin Feng stood silently for a few seconds, his eyes fixed on Su Jiyai’s trembling shoulders.
Her sobs were muffled, barely audible, but they hit him harder than any battle roar or explosion.
He had seen her in the arena, fearless and fierce.
He had seen her stand alone against entire squads of enemies without blinking. But now… now she looked like she was falling apart.
He couldn’t stand it.
Taking a deep breath, he walked toward her, slowly, carefully, as if approaching a wounded animal.
“Boss Su,” he said gently.
Su Jiyai tried to wave him off, wiping her face with the back of her hand. “I’m fine. Just… leave me alone.”
“No,” Qin Feng said firmly. “You’re not fine. And I’m not leaving you like this.”
He crouched down beside her, making sure to keep just enough distance so she wouldn’t feel crowded.
“You’re not alone anymore,” he said. “I don’t know what happened in that room, but I can guess. He’s confused, hurt… but you didn’t do anything wrong.”
Su Jiyai sniffled and shook her head.
“But I wasn’t there for him. I didn’t even know he existed. And now he hates me.”
“No. He’s scared. That’s not the same as hate,” Qin Feng said softly. “He’s been hurt too long. It’ll take time.”
He stood up, his eyes now serious. “Let me talk to him.”
Su Jiyai looked up, eyes wide. “He won’t listen…”
“Maybe,” Qin Feng said. “But he needs to know the truth. About you.”
Before she could say anything else, he turned and walked toward the bedroom door. He knocked once.
“Go away!” came the boy’s voice, hoarse and angry.
“I’m not here to hurt you,” Qin Feng said, voice calm but steady. “I just want to talk. I won’t even come in unless you say it’s okay.”
Silence.
Then, a quiet, “Fine. Just talk from there.”
“No, I will come inside.” Qin Feng insisted.
The boy was silent, and seeing how persistent Qin Feng was, he gave up and said,
“Fine.”
Qin Feng entered and closed the door behind him,
“You’re angry at her, I get that. You think she abandoned you. But you don’t know her story. She didn’t have a family either. Not a real one. She wasn’t born into love and comfort.”
“She’s lying,” the boy snapped. “She looks so strong, and she has everything.”
Qin Feng let out a bitter chuckle.
“You think being strong means she had an easy life? Listen… for the first eighteen years of her life, Boss Su lived in a house with people who never treated her like family.

Her foster mother tried to sell her — not once, not twice, but five or six times. Like she was just a piece of property.”
The boy went quiet.
“Her foster father?” Qin Feng continued, his tone tightening with anger.
“He… he tried to hurt her. In the worst way possible. He tried to assault her daily. And the foster siblings? They never protected her.
They only talked with her when they needed something — money, food, help. She gave and gave, and they took and took. She was alone. Just like you.”
Silence again. The boy’s small hands trembled where they gripped the blanket.
“She didn’t even know you existed,” Qin Feng said more gently now.
“But the moment she found out — the second she realized — she conducted a search for you. She fought, bled, and nearly died just to get you out of that place.
Remember the stall giving out food? She set it up in the hopes that you would show up, and when you did, no one was more moved than her.
Do you know that she has defeated the Madam Queen who made your life hell? She is planning to torture Madam Queen 10 times as much as Madam Queen had tortured you.
She even blew up the organization and vowed to avenge you.”
“She did?” The boy’s eyes widened in surprise.
The witch whom he thought couldn’t be defeated. The witch who had made him hate the world.
The witch who was all full of confidence and ruled the powerful lab, which even the base leader couldn’t offend…was captured and was going to be tortured?
All because he was hurt.
He remembered how he used to envy when one of the boys or girls used to say that their family member would rescue them.
He wanted a family member to find him, too.
But he knew he was an orphan, and no one cared.
Now…he was suddenly told that he was loved so much that his sister captured Madam Queen and blew up the entire organization.
“Then why didn’t she tell me?” the boy whispered, his voice cracking. “Why didn’t she say all that?”
“Because she’s scared too,” Qin Feng said.
“Scared that you’d reject her. That the one person left who matters to her would say she’s not enough.
She hides behind that strong face, that cold expression. But inside? She’s still that little girl, wishing for someone to love her.”
Qin Feng took a slow breath,
“You don’t have to forgive her right now. No one’s asking you to forget what you’ve been through. But just know… she’s not your enemy.
She’s someone who understands pain. Who lived it? And she’s trying. Really trying to heal you even though she wasn’t the one to inflict it.”
The boy sat frozen on the bed. His lips were trembling, his body tense. He looked up slowly, eyes glassy but dry.
“Did… did she really get hurt too?”
Qin Feng nodded. “Worse than anyone should. And still, she chose to keep fighting. For you.”
The boy hugged his knees, burying his face in them.
“I don’t know what to feel anymore,” he whispered. “I waited for so long. I hated her. I thought no one would ever come. But now she’s here and… and it hurts.”
“That’s okay,” Qin Feng said softly.
“It’s okay to be confused. It’s okay to be angry. Just remember this — she didn’t give up on you. She never would have, if she had known.”
The boy sat in silence for a while. Then, slowly, he whispered, “I… I don’t want her to cry anymore.”
Qin Feng smiled faintly. “Then tell her. When you’re ready.”
He turned to leave, but paused at the door.
“Your name doesn’t have to be 2900 anymore. You get to choose who you are now. And if you ever want help, Boss Su will be right there. So will I. Also, I hope that if you don’t tell her what I told you, she will never accept the suffering she has gone through.”
“Why?” The boy asked softly.
“Because she wants to ensure you don’t feel guilty. If you don’t trust me, ask her subtly.” Qin Feng said.
And with that, he left the room, closing the door softly behind him.
Back in the hallway, Su Jiyai stood quietly, her eyes still red but her expression a little more composed.
“He listened,” Qin Feng said. “Give him time. He’s thinking.”
Su Jiyai nodded slowly. “Thank you.”
Qin Feng gave her a small, warm smile. “Anytime, Boss Su. Anytime.”
………………………………..
The next day.
Su Jiyai got ready.
Before leaving, she walked up to the door and tried to open it, but she realized that it was still locked.
Taking a deep breath, she placed the food in her hand on the floor, knocked once, and left.
After she left, the door opened a head popped out. It looked at Su Jiyai’s departing back and stared at her with a complex look in his eyes.
Once Su Jiyai exited the RV, he sneaked out, hesitated, and found Qin Feng who had just used the washroom.
“Can you…help me write something?” He asked.
Qin Feng was amused by the boy’s serious expression and said,
“Sure.”
Taking out a notebook and a pen from his space, he waited for the boy to speak.
The boy blushed slightly before saying in a soft voice,
“Don’t cry.”
Qin Feng paused before pressing his lips tightly to stop himself from laughing.
“You…don’t laugh!” The boy shouted, his temper flaring up.
“Okay. Okay. That’s it, you don’t want me to write anything more?” Qin Feng asked, changing the topic, not wanting to offend his future brother-in-law.
“Um…ask her to not skip breakfast and wait for me to open the door the next time she knocks. I am her brother…I won’t ignore her. Also, tell her that I am ready for a name selection…
Yeah! Write that she can’t adopt any brother other than me…at least till I am 10…no 15! And…I want attention…um…mention it in a subtle way. I will protect her once I grow up…
And…and…write that…I…I was….I didn’t mean to make her cry…and I will never make her cry ever again…I…I am sorry.”
Toward the end, his face turned red from blushing.
Qin Feng chuckled as he wrote down everything.
“Also she can’t have boyfriend till I inspect the other party!”
