Chapter 482: Chapter 482: Magic
He just stared at the ground.

Then…

A voice spoke.

“Do you want to rule the world?”

The siblings jumped up.

Standing before them was a girl.

She didn’t look normal.

She had long silver hair that sparkled in the dark.

Her eyes were deep blue, glowing faintly.

She wore a white dress and didn’t even look wet in the rain.

Jin and Qin backed away.

“Who are you?” Qin asked.

The girl smiled kindly. “Someone who can give you what you want.”

“We don’t want anything,” Jin said, fists clenched.

“Really?” she tilted her head. “Not even justice for your sister? Not revenge for what your parents did? Not power?”

They froze.

“How do you know all that?”

The girl didn’t answer.

Instead, she stretched out her hand.

“Sell your souls to the devil,” she said. “And you’ll get the strength to change everything.”

Jin hesitated.

Qin did too.

Their hands almost stayed at their sides.

But then the girl whispered…

“Do you really want to live the rest of your life knowing Mei Mei died for nothing? That no one was punished? That the people who broke you are laughing right now, eating good food with your money?”

Jin’s face turned hard.

He looked at Qin.

She gave a single nod.

Together, they reached out and touched the girl’s hand.

A blue flame burned in their chests.

Pain. Heat. Cold. Screaming.

And then… silence.

Three days later, they both woke up in the same bed in an old motel.

There was a note on the table.

“In one month, the world will fall. Prepare.”

Qin blinked. “Fall?”

Jin read it again. “I think she meant it. Something bad is coming.”

They didn’t waste time.

They sold everything they had.

Stole what they couldn’t buy.

They hoarded food, medicine, tools, anything useful.

They learned survival skills.

They learned how to use weapons.

And then, it happened.

Zombies.

People turned into monsters overnight.

The world went dark.

But Jin and Qin were ready.

With the supplies they saved, they helped others.

People followed them.

Jin built a base.

He became known as Admiral Ru.

Strong. Smart. Cold.

Qin created a place for research and development. Experiments. Training. Control.

She became Madam Queen.

Elegant. Ruthless. Respected.

They ruled with power and fear.

The world that hurt them was gone.

Now it was their turn to rule.

…………………………….

But even now… sometimes, when the night is quiet and the moon is full, Admiral Ru and Madam Queen sit together in silence.

They don’t talk about the past.

But they both remember.

A little girl in a closet.

A boy and a girl are under a kitchen table.

And the angel with blue eyes… who gave them everything in exchange for their souls.

………………………

Elisha saw both Madam Queen and Admiral Ru silent and smiled,

“So don’t ever betray me, alright? I helped you both. Found a master for you both. If it weren’t for me, you might have died at the beginning of the apocalypse.” Elisha continued with a smile.

Madam Queen lowered her head.

Admiral Ru didn’t say anything, just clenched his jaw.

Elisha’s smile stayed on her face, but her voice dropped lower, almost like a whisper.

“I don’t like betrayal,” she said. “Not even a little.”

Madam Queen nodded quickly. “I would never betray you.”

Admiral Ru stepped forward, fists tight at his sides.

“We owe you everything, Elisha. We know that.”

Elisha smiled again, softly.

“Good. Don’t forget. Because the world is still cruel. You just live on top of it now.”

“Yes, ma’am.” Admiral Ru and Madam Queen said.

“Let’s go,” Elisha said. “The meeting is about to start. All pawns must attend.”

Admiral Ru nodded, expression hard as stone. “Yes, ma’am.”

Madam Queen followed without a word. Her heels clicked softly on the cold marble floor. They disappeared through the tall double doors, leaving Elisha alone.

For a moment, everything was quiet.

Then a low whisper came from the shadows.

“You called, Mistress?”

Elisha didn’t even look. “Keep an eye on Madam Queen. I don’t trust her fully yet. And bring me the Prophet.”

“As you command,” the voice replied.

The shadows shifted. A cold breeze passed by, and then the figure was gone.

Only minutes later, he returned.

Behind him stood a tall man in a red cloak. His hood was pulled low, hiding his face. But the moment he stepped inside, the air grew heavy—like it was hard to breathe.

Even the candles flickered.

Elisha’s smile faded. She stood straighter. “Leave us,” she said to her subordinate.

“Yes, Mistress.” The figure vanished.

Now it was just her and the Prophet.

“You’ve been quiet lately,” Elisha said. “Have you had any visions of the upcoming war?”

The Prophet didn’t move for a moment. Then he spoke, his voice low and calm. “Nothing has changed.”

“No visions?” Elisha frowned. “Not even a clue?”

The Prophet shook his head. “Only one thing remains constant. Your death.”

Elisha blinked.

Then she gave a short laugh. “So I die. That’s all you ever see.”

“Yes.” The Prophet’s brows furrowed beneath his hood.

“And the strange part is… I always see the same thing. Your death… by a woman.”

Elisha looked away, calm.

“I’ve cultivated for two thousand years. I’ve absorbed dark energy, mastered forbidden arts, and ruled cities in silence. Who could kill me?”

She stepped toward the Prophet, her voice getting sharper.

“Humans only live a hundred years. They are ants. Weak and foolish. I’ve killed gods before. Why would a woman, a human woman, be my end?”

The Prophet didn’t flinch. “Maybe she’s not human.”

Elisha stopped walking.

“What?”

“Maybe the one who ends you… isn’t human. Or god. But something else.”

Elisha narrowed her eyes. “What are you saying?”

The Prophet raised his head slightly, but his face was still hidden. “Maybe… the one from the prophecy is finally moving.”

There was silence again.

The air felt colder now.

Elisha crossed her arms. “How’s Puppet doing?”

“He is… displeased.”

“Because of the faith?” Elisha rolled her eyes.

“Yes. It keeps rising. More people believe in hope, in the light. The balance is shifting.”

Elisha snorted. “Tch. That damn Boss Su. She’s the reason.”

The Prophet gave a slow nod.

“Sometimes… I truly think she might be the one from the prophecy.”

Elisha tilted her head. “You mean… the one who will end the Seven Devils and the Puppet?”

“Yes.”

Elisha didn’t speak. Her expression turned unreadable.

After a while, she said softly,

“But the prophecy said… the one who ends us all won’t be a human or a god. It said they will be something else—something rare. A fae… a vampire… a werewolf…”

“Yes,” the Prophet replied. “And that’s why the Puppet destroyed all of them. Genocide.”

Elisha gave a bitter smile. “Except one.”

“Jake,” the Prophet said.

“Jake,” Elisha repeated. “That half-blood mutt. The Puppet kept him alive… because of his usefulness.”

“Because of fear,” the Prophet corrected. “He feared that Jake’s lover—the true threat—might one day return.”

Elisha sat down, folding her hands.

“So Puppet hoped that by keeping Jake around, they’d be able to lure her out, and destroy her… before she helps the light of the world?”

“Or before she becomes one,” the Prophet added.

Elisha stared at the floor.

“So the Puppet wants to destroy the antidote. The only thing that could fix this twisted world.”

“Yes.”

“And Boss Su… might be that last piece.”

The prophet nodded slowly, his red cloak swaying slightly.

“That’s why,” he said, “the plan is to eliminate her in the next three days.”

Elisha didn’t say anything at first. She stared at the ground, her silver lashes lowered, thinking hard. Then she looked up, eyes sharp.

“But… if Boss Su dies in three days,” she said, “and I still end up dead later… doesn’t that mean she’s not the Light of the World?”

The Prophet nodded. “Exactly. The prophecy says the Light of the World will destroy the Puppet and the Devil… one way or another.”

“So if I die anyway,” Elisha said slowly, “then she wasn’t the one. Just another unlucky bug.”

Silence stretched for a moment.

Then Elisha tilted her head.

“Should I just give everything I own to a pawn, then? Since I’m going to die anyway?”

The Prophet chuckled. It was a deep, amused sound.

“You? Elisha the Merciless? Since when did you become so generous?”

Elisha smirked. “I’m serious.”

The Prophet shook his head.

“Don’t joke. You’re the one who found every possible Light of the World before they could grow. You broke them down. Made them hate everything.”

He stepped closer.

“Do you really think anyone would’ve hurt Admiral Ru and Madam Queen if not for your magic?”

Elisha looked amused. “Of course not.”

The Prophet grinned behind his hood.

“You twisted their lives. You made their parents cruel. You made the neighbors ignore the screams. You even made the teachers pretend not to see.”

Elisha’s voice was soft, but there was pride in it. “And then I offered them power. Right when they were broken.”

“You made sure they were broken,” the Prophet said.
